I'm going to figure this out somehow... I at least know the Big bada-boom part is 5th Element!

<Snipped quote by Athinar>

He wants us to figure it out and use our brains. *ears smoking a bit* Also, I recall him saying it's not computer code.

Fifty points to Gryphondo.. er wait. Fifty points to the lady in the third row by the name of Fallen.

It would be interesting to know what it might be in computer code. .. Hmmm.

But.. It's not. Nor is it Morse. Technically it is binary. It.. does come out to a number.

As for the code, don't strain your brain on it.

... that is all

Big bada-booom!
How would this 'vanilla mortal' be so Clued In?
Wouldn't the White Council have a problem with this? - Does this not make them effectively a Mini-Archive?

With that much knowledge, it's unlikely they would be a 'vanilla' mortal, as knowledge is power. And to hold that much information in their head would take something unusual.

To put it another way... not even Bob the Skull knows all things about magic and the occult, and he's a Spirit of Intellect (and knowledge). Meaning he knows a lot about a lot, and a little about most anything. But even he doesn't have the end-all, be-all knowledge about a given subject.

It's possible to know that much, but I don't believe that would be in the realm of a 'vanilla' mortal. And not without something to help them out in this regard and some careful and detailed work and explanation. This is pretty much @yeti100's ballgame though so it's up to him.
I have.

On a side note, I might have another that's interested in this thing. My roomie/sig-o. AS for a hougan, I was thinking about that myself. Lot of thaumaturgy there.

The character I was considering is one Brandon Greene, a 'paranormal investigator' formerly employed by Allied Paranormal/Private Investigative Services (APIS), as a general investigator and 'occult expert'. Somebody that can handle things that bump back a little harder, and handle specialty situations. - He was involved in a relationship with the team leader for some time, romantically, a one Sakura Moyotada, but they split up a few years ago. After that, he packed up his book/new age store in Amarillo Texas and moved on. - I can easily see him moving ot New Orleans, especially to study Voodoo/hoodoo both academically and for magical pursuits, as well as keep an eye on them for the White council.

In his history I do have ties to Elaine Mallory, and possibly Warden Ramirez, but those aren't intended to do anything more than give him some flavor, and possibly give him access to a little backup from time to time. - He might have been deputized as a Warden as he does have combat experience, if this takes place during or post the Vampire war.

Of course, I can can this and start over with no problem. XD
Indeed.

I'm up for starting at Chest Deep or Submerged. Then again, I'm pretty confident in my knowledge. Of course I could go down to Waist deep or something too. That's not a big deal, though I'd have to come up with a different concept.

There are a number of good cities we could work on. I'd suggest Chicago since everybody knows it, but it's... a rough climate to play in, what with the Raith family, Marcone, CPD, and of course other elements.

These are just the ones I can think of for the United States. I'm trying not to give away too many elements for those not in the know.. and since I have no idea when in the timeline this will be taking place. At the same time, I'm trying to spark some imagination, maybe give an indicator of how those cities might feel.

There's also the Vancouver method of making our own fictitious city, which allows us as a group to come up with something unique.
For dice rollers you can always use the Wizards of the Coast Dice Roller.

There is also Invisible Castle, for when the honor system isn't good enough.

Roll20 does have its own rolling engines, which can include random number generation, or physical dice simulation. It includes powerful formula capabilities to leverage, which can make rolling easy and simple. It even features a GUI to make it reeeal simple instead of having ot slap together algebra-like code. And like Invisible Castle, it logs the rolls, though it's not as easy to post each roll separately.

Another option is using the randombetween function in a spreadsheet such as Google Docs, or Excel, or even Open Office's spreadsheet functions.
Though this is kind of a pain in the neck, and is less user-friendly.
Righty guys we have our numbers. Welcome @Blue Demon, @Crimson Raven, @Rook, @Obsidian One, @Tearstone. Now I enjoy Dresden Files enough to run a full campaign. Character and City creation, the works. I have an account over on Roll20 where we can set up. If everyone is ok using this site, completely anonymous and has all the stuff we'll need for keeping track of characters and what's happened in the story, then that's excellent. I'll book a time when we can start brainstorming and character creation. If anyone is worried about using this site then give me a shout and we can sort something else out. Post on here to let me know. My plan is to run a full game every two weeks to a month. I know this is a long time apart, but I want to make sure I have the time to put in every effort I can for you guys. If this is what you're looking for then brilliant again if not send me a message. Until then, remember that magic, it can get a guy killed

@yeti100

Does the wedsite work well on mobile devices?
[/quote]

As a frequent Mentor level subscriber, and long-time user, I approve this. I can also tell you that it does have mobile functionality as well as integration into Google Hangouts, though I have not used the the mobile functions/API. I generally don't need to.

I do intend to play an actual wizard for this. I was thinking this would be more of a text-based, written RPG as is classic for the boards, but I don't mind running it table-top style either. XD

Hell's bells, I'll throw my lot in, because I am the Burger king, and I don't believe in faries. You can't keep a good dog down, not even with a group of the Denarians, especially with Parkour!

Okay, so.. yeah. I'm down.

I have read all the main books, and some of the side stories, and I have the two core RPG books and a few of the modules/adventures, though I haven't run them. I have some characters that run around in a private RP that could make an appearance.

I've been wanting a good, group based, Dresden Files RP for a long time. Also here's something that might be useful if you guys are interested
