Mhm~! This game has directional audio. Based off of where a sound is coming from and what effect it plays, you can tell exactly what obstacle was placed and where.

You can still use them when you're behind. You actually get better ones when you're trailing, so one strategy is to save up and make a big comeback at the end! But they expire eventually.
