Chapter I - The External
Name:Evelyn Wolfe
Age:20
Birthday:The 6th of February
Gender:Female
Sex:Female
Pronouns:She/Her
Country of Origin:Blackharbour
Physical Description:Evelyn stands at around five foot three, with shoulder length, black hair, that lightens into a grey-white at the tips. She possesses something of a slight build, perpetually underweight, with slender, fairly long arms and legs in comparison to her height. A set of green eyes are framed in a freckled, tanned face, which, especially around others, remains locked to faint and gentle smile. Her attitudes and practises often attract the eyes and ire of the more judgement, and so to compensate, her wardrobe is comprised of casual, plain clothes, both to blend in, and to be comfortable any time she finds need to venture out into the heat or the night. As part of this outfit style, Evelyn wears and carries numerous pouches, bags, and charms, which she keeps hidden beneath, or occasionally sewn into the fabric of, her clothes, should the need arise that they are required.
Physical Disabilities:In the past, Evelyn fractured and broke a number of bones, and left them untreated with little more than mild medicinal and botanical techniques. Due to the way these injuries imperfectly healed, she suffers some stiffness and pain, specifically on her left side, around her wrist, elbow, pelvis, and ankle. They aren't debilitating by any means, and she generally doesn't notice them, but the pain gets better or worse depending on the day.
Chapter II - The Internal
Brief Psychological Profile:In a general sense, Evelyn's main concern is not herself, but that which surrounds her. While the most important aspect of her life, bar none, is her practise, much of that practise relies and interacts with the constant influence of people. By nature she is inquisitive, drawn to exploring the "how" of things, especially in regards to the world at large. Being bound to a linear progression of life, where she was told what each successive action would lead to, with no room for self discovery or personal growth, is not something that she can abide. It was that drive for understanding and outlook on the world that guided her away from Christianity, but in turn led to her altruistic moral philosophy.
It is not in her to be cruel, or needlessly malignant, because her desire is to be helpful, out of a mix of personal hubris and guilt, though not in as few words. She wants to help and be useful, in whatever means are most appropriate, though in her case she can typically only do so via magic, which she willingly, and happily, gives, to a degree that can occasionally come across as obnoxious or obsessive. Her friends, therefore, are those willing to accept that help, and as a result, the value she places in the Occult Club is immense, as a place where the majority therein do not reject her.
At least, that is all how she views herself, and her beliefs. Evelyn never truly left behind her self-centred attitude, concerned only with the discovery of herself above the needs and wants of others. The altruism she so holds dear is just another facet, another side, of that selfishness, a manifestation of her own greed that she passes off as true selflessness. It is something deep seated - her most defining trait, and greatest flaw.

Fears & Phobias:Evelyn’s primary and most prevalent fear is that of the ocean and the act of swimming by oneself, though more specifically she fears the inability to properly breath that comes from being submerged in water. She also holds a mild fear of heights, and lacking proper protection at any time, though especially around powerful Thresholds.

Outlook on Life:"Things aren't always fair, but we should try and make them as fair as we can at all times. People say it's all about whatever you give being returned thrice over - I guess I don't really buy into that whole reward mentality. Be a pretty shitty world if everyone only did things when there was something in it for them."
Would they return a shopping trolley if nobody was around to see them do it?:Obviously. What do you think she is, some kind of animal?
Chapter III - The Spirit
Religion:Evelyn does not per se believe in a God, or most of the conventional things found in modern religion. Rather, she holds faith and “worships”, for lack of a better term, the natural power of the world, its resources, and the people that subsist amongst it. When concerned with the Gods she invokes in spells and rituals, she believes in their power - the power of their images, and the convergence of natural energy that gives humanity their faith in them.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how strong is their Faith in that which they worship?:10
On a scale of 1 to 10, how strong is their Faith in themselves?:7
On a scale of 1 to 10, how strong is their Faith in others?:5
What would it take to convince them to kill an innocent person?:Only in defence or herself or another could Evelyn be convinced to become a killer, but in the event that an individual she cares about finds themselves in the situation where such death becomes necessary, she is of willingness to assist in the aftermath, with reservations, though few.
Would they ever resort to cannibalism?:She would rather die.
Does your character enjoy inflicting pain upon others, or having pain inflicted upon them?:No.
Has your character ever committed any crimes? If so, what were they? How severe?:Trespass is perhaps her most prevalent, having ventured at least once to almost every place in Blackharbour, including Hightown. One of these trespassing occasions resulted in a fairly large fire, though Evelyn was never identified as the culprit, for better or worse.
Does your character consider themselves a sinner?:Evelyn does not live to please an arbitrary, formless deity. Although she agrees that excess of any of the givens "sins" can be bad, those sins still represent fundamentals of human nature. It would be disingenuous to remove pride, or lust, or greed. If that makes her a sinner, then she supposes that she must be, but being a sinner and being evil are not conflated within her world view.
Why?:Her parents spent a long time trying to drill the concepts of sin and her own evil in her head, to the point where Evelyn doesn't really see them as anything serious anymore. Practically everything she has experienced in the practise and pursuit of magic has been positive, for both her and others. Through it she has learnt to understand herself and the people around her in ways that the lens of Christianity could not provide, and coupled with the abuse suffered at the hands of her father, the voracity of their teachings, and their insistence that she was a sinner, or a She-Devil, or a Whore of Satan, no longer mean anything in the grand scheme of her life.
If the world ended, or was about to end, what would they do?:
"Die? I dunno, what even could I do? Probably, sit with my friends, comfort them if they're scared, and watch it all happen. I don't want to die or anything, but if I'm not gonna have a choice in the matter, I think I'd like to spend it with somebody that I matter to."
Would they like to be a Hero?:Not in practise.
Chapter IV - The Past and Future
Brief Biography:Born as the only child to a young Christian couple, of a family native to Blackharbour since generations long past, dating back to one of the earlier families of Bel Cove after the resurrection and rebuilding of the town. Over the years, the individuals who had comprised the bloodline had abandoned the place for brighter horizons in bigger cities. All except those that would go on to produce David Wolfe, husband to Abigail Wolfe (nee Burnsley), and father to Evelyn Wolfe. Theirs was a family deep rooted both into the community of Blackharbour, but also the covenant around which it was founded.
Evelyn never truly saw eye to eye with the teaching of Christianity. Her nature was one of curiosity and inquisition, but more than that she could not be settled with a restrictive, linear path. Even from an early age she had had problems with authority, though not in a disrespect for the rules kind of way. She hated being told how the world worked, and how people had to act, and the way you had to live to reach the only goal that mattered. Being taught by a book that the only way to live properly was to follow the rules of an absolute power or be damned for eternity, it didn't sit right with her. What she wanted was the ability to discover herself, and for herself what was truly "right".
Convincing her family was an impossibility. Their faith was cemented, and allowing their daughter, their solitary offspring, to deviate from that, was out of the question, and more than likely, Evelyn imagined, out of fear. Her response was rebellion, acting out in whatever ways she could, be that arguing, sneaking out, committing petty crimes - anything to try and be seen, or distance herself from the picturesque delusion her parents sought after. When nothing worked, she found magic, and witchcraft, and the teachings of the world that didn't restrict her in the same way the Bible did. But her research taught was how the world operated, but not how those operations interacted, whereas religion had tried to force an objective viewpoint of everything that left no room for deviation.
It was only through her practise of those magics that her family took notice. They could deal with and cope with her other acts of disobedience: more visits to Church, confessions, some minor discipline where it became necessary. They chalked her actions up to teenage rebelliousness, but once the "devil worshipping" began under their roof, their tune shifted drastically, especially in the case of her father. No more was it minor discipline and restriction of privileges, his answer became physical and emotional abuse, hoping to starve and beat the sin out of her where kinder methods had failed. It didn't stop her - rather, his escalation only served to exacerbate Evelyn's obsession with the art.
She learned to divine, she learned to heal. She learned to protect herself, but her hubris and arrogance in the matter eventually led to her numerous fractured and broken bones. She had become obsessed with her own self discovery, and her own path, that she stopped thinking about why and what she wanted. The reason she had wanted to explore herself outside Christianity's lens in the first place. She had forgotten because she had found and overlooked it, but in a moment of extreme duress and absolute resolution discovered it again. No longer abused by her family, but merely neglected, Evelyn pressed on, finding her way into Blackmoore College.
A year and a half ago, partway through her first year at the College, Evelyn once again lost sight of her self and self discovery, and the self she was supposed to become. Believing in her past self, she attempted to discover it once again, but along the way, encountered the Leader of the Occult Club. The place they met was not somewhere either should have been, though his reasons differed wildly to her own. He invited her elsewhere, and, after she searched for him on subsequent days, welcomed her to his Occult Club.
If your character could live a perfect life, what would that life be?:A life where she can fully discover herself, in ways that Blackharbour doesn't allow. Where she is surrounded by people who find her useful, and where she holds the ability to travel to rich, interesting, and far off places, within which she can practise freely, ideally alongside someone she loves. A life where the greed she hides from herself needn't be so hidden any longer.
Chapter V - Blood Bonds
What is your character's relationship like with their immediate family?:At best disregarded, and at worst hated, Evelyn’s family no longer considers her one of their own, or rather, they do not consider her at all. To them, she is a follower of Satan, and robbed of the ability to abuse her, their only remaining option is for her to be out of sight, and out of mind.
How many friends does your character feel as if they have?:As many as she needs.
What's your character's relationship with the town of Blackharbour?:Her time in Blackhabour has not been one of the best or most pleasant, and though the rich history and plethora of intriguing Thresholds and incidents entice her, she looks forward to the day that she may abandon it.
Chapter VI - The Supernatural
Has your character ever seen ghosts or worse?:Yes.
Does your character believe in the supernatural?:Yes.
Has your character ever been to Blackharbour's Lighthouse?:Yes.
Has your character ever eaten any Blackshells? If so, how often?:The snail can be an important symbol of the connection to the ocean, and to the element of water. Evelyn has refused eating them from even before she took to magic.
Does your character have any psychic abilities? If so, please describe them:Though not exactly “psychic” abilities, Evelyn is an active practitioner of witchcraft, and Pagan magic from varying cultures, including, though not limited to, divination, warding, banishment, and healing. Nothing she is capable of performing is particularly impressive or powerful, as far as stereotypical depictions of magic are concerned, and has mostly been learnt through secretive self-education, or strikes of inspiration and experimentation through divining rituals.
Has your character ever seen someone jump from the Leap of Faith?:No.
Has your character ever gone to jump from the Leap of Faith?:Yes.
Has your character ever seen the ghost of Old Rowan?:Evelyn specifically investigated some charms and spells designed to mitigate or avoid being shot in her pursuit to find the Old Rowan's ghost, a few of which she prepared in her early teenage years before venturing to Old Rowan's Rest multiple nights a week. The superstition and frequent visitors made it certainly an interesting Threshold to visit.
Chapter VII - The Occult Club
What was your character's relationship with the Leader?:The Leader prevented her from doing something reckless, which likely would have resulted in her death had he not. Evelyn believes she owes him a debt - one she hopes to repay by finding him.
What do they remember the Leader's name as?:Captain, The Captain, Our Captain. O' Captain My Captain
When did they last see the Leader?:The night before his disappearance, Evelyn met with the Leader about his Blue Eye Bead that had recently cracked, indicating its successful usage. The two were meant to meet the next day, after Evelyn had cleansed and consecrated a new Bead, but come her attempts to find him, he had already vanished.
What is your character's relationship with TBA?:TBA
