College student at a state college in the American Pacific Northwest. I am studying history to go into an education masters program, and then hopefully go teach high schoolers, also going for a political science minor since I keep taking polysci classes :V . Positive Nihilist, leftie, enjoy in depth discussion of topics/fun tangents, also enjoy being left alone... depends on the day. I also am not a fan of capitalizing the beginning of a sentence. why does it need a capital letter? there's already a punctuation mark before it! (he says as he continues to capitalize the word "I")
Other interests include:
-Overwatch: support/Junkrat main. #freefuey
-Combat Robotics: and if you're like me and are too poor to actually build shit but want to pretend you've made something anyway, check out ARC (http://s10.zetaboards.com/Drowning_City_Forums/index/). /cross-forum plug :V
-also in the vein of robotics, I volunteer through the FIRST (for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition community. FIRST puts on a lot of really cool robotics based events for schoolchildren, and I do encourage you to check out their events and/or get into volunteering if you're into that sort of thing. it's also a gigantic commitment and probably not as much fun for people who aren't as into it as I am :V . still, go take like 3 minutes to watch this, this shit is so cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjDSCT96K2w
-Hearthstone (fuck cubelock amirit I definitely dont love cubelock or anything)

@shylarahThat could work, although it sounds incredibly grim and I'm not sure how the population could stomach it. I did have this idea about the remains of poor dead people being used in the smelting process for building material, so that in a way, Magnagrad is "built on the backs of the dead", or something like that. Building material isn't composed entirely of dead folks of course, but it does contain traces of them (sort of like how the Hoover Dam has dead workers in its foundations). Maybe the Church preaches that it's a worthy service to give your body over to be used to "further the city's spread" or something.

@The Angry Goat It does matter, and I see what you're getting at, but all spears are blades on sticks. or pointed sticks, before there were blades. They come from the same idea: take the sharp thing, and make it reach farther. This doesn't mean that there aren't other sticks with blades too, though. ^.^;;
Honestly, if you wanna see a gun combo that's interesting, I rather liked Ruby's scythe in RWBY. She can shoot thiungs, and she can use the force to push herself, or add power to a cut. Makes much more sense than "it cuts because it vibrates side-to-side".
honestly that things's complete bull too but it's also in an anime-like cartoon (p sure it's american so I don't want to call it what it's not, but I mentally classify it with animes in terms of fight style) so I'm already willing to completely suspend my disbelief for it :P

Although there is a gunknife that actually exists IRL. For some unknown reason.
naginatas are not spears, neither are halberds. the length of the shaft and the type of blade matter too :P
@The Angry Goat Oh you're completely right. The idea of a gun-sword is completely ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is the original purpose of final fantasy's gunblade- it wasn't supposed to cut and shoot, the vibrations from the gun going off was supposed to make the blade better at cutting, which is utterly absurd.
