The highest, most decisive experience is to be alone with one's own self. You must be alone to find out what supports you, when you find that you can not support yourself.

The core of an individual is the mystery of life, which dies when it is 'grasped'. That is also why symbols want to keep their secrets.

Bio

The Harbinger of Ferocity

Agent of the Wild, Aspect of the Ferine
Nature, red in tooth and claw.

"There is, indeed, no single quality of the cat that man could not emulate to his advantage."
- Carl Van Vechten

I am, at my core, a personification and manifestation of those things whose blood and hearts run red with the ferocity of the animal world. It is this which convicts and controls my works, my writing, my being; the force and guidance in which I gain wisdom from. It is what inspires me as a creator and weaver of words, the very thing I admire as an author.

My leanings, savage as they are, are of the feline sort as there exists no greater lineage of beasts whom can be drawn from. No others captivate and motivate my talent and skill as the greatest of cats do.

Chapter I
"Trawling together your bits and bobs from your scrounging, you tuck the pale leather exterior of the mysterious tome you have into your arm and rest under the shanty. With your arm serving to steady your head, you find yourself in the strange ambient evening air to drift off again to the unconscious. The fatigue of your endeavor sucks you under before you know it and soon there is an all too familiar fall that comes with you into the darkness. Yet this time, rather than dragged beneath where there is no breath to be had, you find yourself in the twilight of lucidity in the shallows. Perhaps here your will might manifest, for the storm that tore at you before is gone; the jaws of the abyss not ready to devour whole."

"Surely stirring some in the waking world, you realize this is your opportunity if any to find some recollection of the past. All that remains is for you to focus, to guide and steer your vessel of thought, hoping that it avoids the rake of the traumas survived and that it sails into the smooth harbors of answer..."
When last I had visited Rancho La Brea, I observed that the structure of the George C. Page Museum is built similarly to some temples or tombs, specifically a ziggurat, a form of stepped pyramid. It was believed that these structures connected heaven and earth, which in many regards is not beyond my suspicion the structure itself might be equally symbolic. Subtle cues in favor of this understanding is, is that it is a cite to commemorate and remember those things extinct and dead, that it is a barrow similarly for the interred and honored dead, is depicted with murals as part of its stone exterior, has a center open to the sky, and that it obviously bears a pyramid shape with horizontal steps of structure up effectively three terraces. Perhaps unconsciously the designers of the museum built it in this manner or perhaps not. As for myself? I prefer to interpret it that way.
The information has been sent as requested, @DTHar.
So what @Hellion is urging is essentially an urban supernatural masquerade scenario once again? Color me none surprised and none opposed at that, @HaleyTheRandom. I absolutely do second such a thing if that is within reason and of course to your tastes as the forum could do with an outright World of Darkness topic or at least something very much in keeping with the tenants of it. There are simply not enough dark fantasy pieces, let alone those that edge closer to those tones in the modern era. Continued, if such a thing were brought forward I do believe it would find a fair number of audience and a slightly more reliable set of players than the usual fare; which is a boon for all the reasons one imagines it to be.

Regardless of what is decided, I do enjoy the idea of this topic of someone wanting to helm something from a series of collaborative interests, so credit given there as it is due. Even if this is far from the ultimate topic decided for this feline will be lurking about as a hopeful as I have been seeking another topic or two that are lively. It of course helps that the names and voices thus far to appear I would be all the more pleased to play alongside.
Any particular way ability scores are being determined? Currently it does not seem possible, at least with the base "race point system" to engineer an actual animal or magical beast player character as well. So I am curious just how you would govern that as the Dungeon Master. As it stands I have a few alternatives at hand if the answer is a pure "No."
Very well, I will begin researching it some further. From the start, are there any limitations on races or using the "race point system" to modify or build off of races, such as Standard, Advanced, Monstrous, et cetera? Continued, at what level is play being considered at starting?
This story is continuing still and is seeking up to three more members. Recall that it is guided by the players, so one has a great amount of opportunity to determine the narrative, while also being low in time commitment required. It is also recommended that the players coordinate some amount of what they wish to do for their own benefit. Given the topic is open and looking for that, curious parties might be well rewarded.
That I understood but are you taking Pathfinder only content or are you accepting content from Third Edition as well, since Pathfinder technically includes that, @DTHar? I know the greater Pathfinder community is split on what is or isn't canon - only Paizo Publishing being sanctioned versus including all previous Wizards of the Coast print that has to be adapted but is still canon - so it bears asking.
Setting:
Fantasy world of my own creation (which is a mashup and add-ons of Forgotten Realms, Pathfinder, Drizzt, and a couple others most likely)

Greetings @DTHar, based upon this statement and that this is Pathfinder, I must ask the obvious question to anyone versed in its predecessor. Is this a so-called "3.P" thread you intend to create and play with, a mixture of Third Edition Dungeons and Dragons as well, or purely just that of Pathfinder? The former of those two I am highly versed in and the latter I have read over a handful of times and know the most basic of differences about from the parent d20 System.

Chapter I
"Riffling through the pockets like some petty thief desperate to squeeze out one more coin from a sapped victim, you find nothing of further use. The key, wherever it is, is most certainly not here. Running your hand through the hair, you exhale in disappointment, with the salt at your lips from your sweat and the sea spray irking you further. Brushing your mouth with the back of a wrist, you lay the clothes first over your shoulder and the sack over the other until you reach the drier sands. There, over wood and under the moonless night, you cast them out to dry. Surely they will in the hours to come."

"Again you are left standing on the warm beach, almost adrift again in thought but shaking yourself back to reality. There is no telling what will happen on your next venture into the unconscious although you are rightfully concerned. The last time in which you had ventured there some hours before was not so favorable. All now that was left was the question of what to do once more."
