Basic Background: Dan Schmidt was born to a wealthy family, but that didn't last long. His family died in a fatal train wreck that he was extremely lucky to survive. His rightful inheritance was stolen from him by his uncle, who blew it all on ridiculous investments before he died without two dimes to rub together. Then, Dan was taken into an orphanage, and, his luck continuing, was quickly adopted by a young mountain man who began to teach Dan the ways of the wild. Long story short, Dan became a mountain man, first traveling with his guardian and then on his own when the man died.
Quest: Dan wishes to explore every inch of the Rocky Mountains and write down all of his findings in a set of journals. He hopes to discover great things along the long set of jagged peaks, and experience the fame that comes with it. If this dream does not work out, however, he would be content with the glory of knowing everything there is to know about the Rocky Mountains.
