Username: The ZAX
Character Name: Harvan Diehl
Race/Species: Human (Bania)
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Career/Class: Town Guard/Footman
Weapons: - Halberd
- Crossbow
- Heater Shield
Physical Description: Harvan Diehl is a tall, lanky youth. He stands about 6’3” and never really grew into his body. Babyfaced with an unruly mop of dirty blonde hair, Harvan has never been able to grow a beard, much to his chagrin, and looks even younger for it. Harlan’s eyes seem to be eternally laughing, and while he can put on a serious face when needed it is usually just a facade.
Harlan wears a simple guardsman’s uniform and takes meticulous care of it. He does this out of reverence and respect for his lost town and station, but this leads to him often being mistaken for a fop. Despite this Harvan is not afraid to get dirty, and is often wearing the detritus of where he has been in his hair.
Armor: Harvan has been slowly modifying his guardsman’s armor over his travels. He has removed some of the metal for easier travel and at this point he has plate covering his chest, back, shoulders, forearms and shins. The metal is layered over the white and dark green cloth of his traditional guardsman’s uniform.
Equipment/Other A small traveling backpack with rations, bolts, cookware and a light hatchet. He also has a bag of small rune stones used for divination that his grandmother gave him. He can barely use them, but the peace of mind they give him is worth any amount of foresight.
Mental Description/Personality: Harvan is a stalwart young man. Growing up in one of the more inaccessible townships of Bania he is very self sufficient. Where he is from everyone can hunt and track at a basic level, knows a little first aid, and can split firewood at an alarming rate.
Harvan was raised by his grandmother and as such listened to many of her folk stories in his youth. Harvan inherited the rampant superstition of the Banians, and will engage in a number of baffling customs and rituals to protect himself from all manner of evil creatures, both real and imagined. He has a soft spot for children and is always carrying small charms to give those he meets on his travels to protect them from Gronkin and Hoarlumps.
Harlan has basic guardsman training and can wield his weapons with deadly proficiency. He is in no way a master and in battle he usually gains the advantage from being (boneheadedly) fearless. Many of his opponents have ended up impaled on his halberd only because he didn’t flinch when they expected him to. He is also helpful to a fault and will drop what he is doing to help anyone, especially a pretty girl, even if it inconveniences him.
Goals: Harvan’s Town was razed by rabid werewolves 2 years ago leaving him as one of the few survivors. Harlan had heard tales of the southland growing up. According to his Grandmother the southland is much like what Bania was in its glory days, before the kingdom began taming the land and those who lived upon it. Wanting to travel a little before settling down he headed south. His dream is to find a small town in the southland, much like his own, where he can settle down and make a life defending the pilgrims of the road and all interested in making a life in the untamed wilderness.
