@banjoanjo Leo would either be a very good friend for Franceska, or the one person who will take actual pleasure in shutting her up.

That aside, I love her already!
Haha, I noticed. Guess I'll have to make a character for the Vypers instead then.
Returning with my darling daughter Pheobe McBeamspam~!

As the volunteers left, Leo took to his side of the room and set out to unpacking his things immediately. Working in silence, he managed to arrange everything neatly in a few minutes. Stepping back, he inspected his handiwork.

Next to his dresser he had assembled a foldable bookshelf with a collection of books sorted out according to genre, series, and name. His extra bags containing his cooking utensils, weights and other gym equipment were placed in front of the window, where he could access it easily if need be. Also with those bags was a painting canvas he had assembled just so, with his painting materials and other supplies placed in the bookshelf provided for them.

With that done, Leo turned to the rooms' other occupant.

While they were choosing their electives, she seemed a bit flustered. He hoped that he didn't somehow pressure her into choosing the same ones as he did; being able to choose what subjects they could take was a special privilege that he didn't want to interfere with.

From his side of the room, he called out to her with a frown.

"Talia, you didn't change your electives to match mine did you?" After a beat, he added after noticing. "Oh, and if you have the time, I'd also like to discuss living arrangements."

Alice Amanda Anette Anderson

Passionate Songbird

Alice grinned as she watched each pair hop off stage. To say she was excited about her impending partnership was an understatement; she didn't know what her ability was or what changes the bonding would bring, but it was surely going to be a heck of an experience!

Unlike most of the other students gathered in the podium, she had little worries about being tied so closely to someone. In then end, it just meant that you had to play your part, and if you happened to get close to each other in the process, then all the better; she had no problems doing just that. Expressing herself was definitely not a problem for her. Now, if her partner turned out to be someone that was difficult to get along with, well, that was fine too. She knew what to do when someone couldn't sing in tune - just sing a lot louder so they can't be heard!

Anyway, her way up to the Sun Room was difficult. In her time away from school, her popularity seemingly exploded, and she had walked out of the train only to be swamped by fans not a minute later. Said fans were of the theater geek kind who had watched (or pirated) her show, but the crowd eventually attracted hedge fans that new about her recent and relatively obscure albums. It took a quarter of an hour to finish signing autographs and disperse the hanger-ons', and by the time she was finished, she pretty much had to sprint towards the room to avoid being late. It was a good thing she didn't have much luggage, as she sent them to her room ahead of time.

So now, here she was, waiting for her turn to be called. As it turns out, she didn't have to wait much longer.

"Mikayla Iovine and Alice Anderson."

"Welp, here we go~" she thought excitedly, practically skipping her way towards the podium. On her way up she heard the excited whispers of students as they reacted to her name. It made her a bit proud, to know that her efforts had been recognized by so many people.

As she got on stage, Alice eyed her partner. This Mikayla was seriously pretty, probably one of the prettiest girls she's ever seen, and she's met a lot. "Seems a bit stiff though, best try and break the ice," she thought, before stretching out her hand. "Heya, Alice Anderson, in case you missed the loud booming voice," she said as her face broke into a friendly grin.

Meanwhile, down with the crowd, there were several onlookers that were now actively pointing at her, seemingly uncaring that they stood out, and were frankly being quite rude. Alice ignored them in favor of the girl standing in front of her.

Personality

Cheery, energetic and over all an enthusiastic lass; that's how she usually is, and were that all, she would be a happy-go-lucky, but very much normal girl. However, she is also intensely competitive and determined, and does not easily admit defeat, especially when it comes to something she is passionate about. When she's serious about something, her entire demeanor seems to shift, becoming more disciplined and focused; she's also more choleric, and easily gets irritated when she's not being taken seriously. She becomes more intense and passionate, often overwhelming the unprepared.

Otherwise, she's relaxed and likes to have fun. She's rather frugal when it comes to living expenses, however, from time to time she splurges her savings on something luxurious. She enjoys the feeling of being able to spend money (or alternatively, having money to spend) and is equally happy with receiving presents, regardless of price. Perhaps she's a bit too materialistic, in this sense, however, she simply likes having things, especially things that are all her own and not hand-me-downs.

She is a hard-worker when it comes to her passions, and that also translates into other things; a good example would be her grades - while she's no honors student, her grades are above average due to the fact that if she does not maintain a standard average for her grades, she won't be able to continue studying under the Primaddona. So long as it aligns with her passion, even in indirect ways, then she won't mind pushing through with it.

Alice is a confident girl, not prone to being shy or unsure - if she's lacking in skills or knowledge, she'll readily ask for help and isn't ashamed to not be knowledgeable about or be unable to do certain things; in her head that simply means it's either not something she needs, or something she can develop in the future. Her confidence is evident in the way she moves and interacts with people - rarely does her voice go below a certain volume, and she always speaks with this self-assured tone.

She takes pride in her skills and dislikes anyone who disagrees with her on that - it's not wrong if it's true, and Alice is both talented and skilled enough in her field of expertise that she certainly deserves to be proud. She knows not to let it get to her head though - a musical can't be done by one person, no matter how talented she is, she's aware that she's not perfect, nor does she need to be. She's perfectly willing to let others fulfill their parts.

Biography

The youngest child out of five, as well as the only daughter, Alice didn't have much to go on as a child. Her parents were both mages from Colbar; her mother was a radio host, while her father was a truck driver; their meager salaries plus the lack of stability of her fathers job meant that there was very little money to go around for them. They had enough for a house, and three meals a day, even if they were somewhat meager portions. Any luxuries such as a television or a car were gifts or donations from relatives. It was enough to get by, but it did little to keep her content; while she wasn't exactly unhappy, she was restless. For her, it was never quite enough to merely 'get by'.

Even at a young age, she was a passionate singer. Her passion stemmed from a show she used to watch, one that no longer airs but which she fondly remembers. It was a weekly singing competition, a small time one where contestants would try to out-sing the current champion. She was four years old when she first watched this program, and she couldn't get enough of it afterwards. She would practice singing by imitating the weeks current champion - it didn't matter what kind of song it was, or how bad she sounded, she just really, really liked singing. The fact that whenever she did, it would make her family smile and cheer was just made the whole experience more rewarding.

She found that when she sang, it made everything better; when she was sad, she sang, when she was happy, she sang - if her parents or siblings fought, she'd sing and they'd stop! Sometimes after school, she would go to the library or use the school computers to watch videos of different singers and artists, and instructional videos to help improve her own singing. The more she sang, the more evident it was that she was talented with a capital T; unfortunately, there wasn't much they could yet do with her talent. Her parents, while they adored her and wished to nurture her passion, had little time to research how to best do so, and neither did they have the funds to get her lessons.

When she was eight years old, her two eldest brothers, seventeen and nineteen years old, respectively, dropped out of school so as to help provide for the family. One got a job similar to their father, driving trucks for a fishing company, while the other began working as a fisherman. From then on, Alice had little time to spend with them - at least in comparison to before - a fact that somewhat saddened her; while she was closer to her third eldest brother, those two had spent a lot of time playing her when she was younger. It was around this time that one of her teachers took note of her talent.

It should be mentioned that Alice would sing anywhere, especially if asked and especially in public. While it was known that she was a good singer with a natural talent, little had come of it until that moment. Her teacher was someone who recognized her talent and the possibilities that could come from it, offered to help nurture her gifts. It began with her being invited to participate in a school competition; it was just a small thing, a minor tournament for the school's foundation festival, with only fifteen contestants.

The experience of standing on a stage, performing in front of a large audience, and the cheers that came with a her successful performance, awoke something within her. It was as though there a bolt of lightning had shot into her body and refused to leave - she won the competition handily, outperforming even the students that were older than her.

Once she tasted that sensation, she was eager to experience it again. This was where her passion had led her; her family caught wind of it immediately, and though her parents were reluctant initially, her siblings - especially her two elder brothers - convinced them to let her go with it. They agreed, so long as she kept her grades above a certain average.

Local school completions weren't enough for her. Her teacher decided to get the school to sponsor her in inter-school competitions, where she also did extremely well, often winning first or second place. As her talent grew, so did the magnitude of the activities she participated it, and as the magnitude increased, so too did her passion and love for her art.

By the time she was thirteen, she had captured the attention of professional singers and record companies around Prydain; she also began competing internationally, where she was still sponsored by her school, and while she didn't win first as often as before, she never came back home without a medal around her neck. She was featured in the news several times at this point. After her latest victory - wherein she bagged 1st place in a competition with over a hundred different competing schools - she was approached by none other than Primadonna Primia Di Donna, one of the foremost talents in the musical arts in Prydain. The woman offered her not only her tutelage, but also a chance to perform at a higher level.

It was an offer Alice quickly accepted, and one her parents could hardly refuse. Since she accepted the offer, she no longer participated in singing competitions; in turn, however, she widened her repertoire - she learned not only to sing, but to act, and dance; she became involved in theater, in the wider world of the performing arts. At fourteen, she was given a major role in a musical production that spanned all of Prydain; her reviews were stellar, and her face and name was front and center in the entertainment industry - the money she made from her endeavors earned enough money to support the family, comparable to what her brothers earned; their life-style, while not necessarily rich (yet), was a far-cry from how they had lived before.

Still, even with all that had happened, the pure unbridled joy she experienced from singing would always be what called to her the most. Her enrollment into Saint Fortuna's came with her acceptance of Primia Di Donna's tutelage, who sponsors her stay there. Since last year, she hasn't participated in any large productions, however offers are beginning to pile up. She's refrained from accepting them in order to give focus to her studies for a moment, but she's close to giving in and accepting one.

Really though, as long as she gets to sing, she'd be content.

Banana split sundae!
Scientific Name:
Mortuus Eremita Cochlea

Common name:
Corpse Snail

Diurnal or Nocturnal:
Does not require sleep.

Habitat:
Rain-forests

Appearance:
An obsidian colored slug that comes in multiple sizes, with the smallest being the size of a bird, with the largest growing to the size of a lion. It has a thousand extendable appendages that are extremely sticky and flexible, which it uses to grip and control its' shell. It does not have a visible mouth or eyes.

Biology:
It's body is soft and malleable, capable of nearly flattening itself entirely. From research it appears to sense movement through vibrations in the air and ground. It gains nutrients by absorbing it from its current shell, which is the corpse of the latest animal it 'renovates' as its home. It stays in its home for 5-8 days before it becomes invalid and switches to a new body. While it occupies its shell, asides from empty eye-sockets and awkward movements, it's otherwise indistinguishable from other members of its shells species, allowing it to blend in relatively easily among a pack or crowd until the time comes for it to switch to another shell, where there will be an ample amount of choices. It grows continuously until it dies, become larger every month.

It does not have any other vital organs asides its brain, which travels freely across its body. Its body can be chopped to bits but so long as as its core remains intact it will remain alive. A Corpse Snail has a lifespan of six months to a year and a half. The longest living Corpse Snail is recorded to have lived up to two years, and was twice the size of a regular Corpse Snail.

The Corpse Snail typically mate thrice in its lifetime, with females releasing a scent that can only be picked up by male snails. They are required to leave their shells in the time required for them to mate, where the eggs are fertilized for a week and layed inside detached parts of its body which are deposited underground. It hatches from eggs two weeks after they are layed, appearing to be a light purple in infancy, which then grows darker with age.

Strengths:
Has complete complete control over the body it vacates. If the animal it uses as its shell has magical properties, expect the Corpse Snail to have access to those properties - including humans.

As long as its core is intact, it is capable of regenerating its lost body parts in a short span of time.

Weaknesses:
Fragile outside its shell, cannot live longer than a week without one.
Sensitive to salt and salt-based minerals. Applying salt to it dissolves its body.
Does not have perfect control over its shell, resulting in somewhat awkward movements that sometimes hinder it.
Becomes sleepy in temperatures under 15 degrees Celsius.
Even slight damage to its core kills it.

Misc:
When the time for it to transfer shells comes close, they use their current home to kill a suitable host that it will then occupy.
Its body and core are used as luxury ingredients, unfortunately their body parts are difficult to preserve and pry out of its shell. The best way to harvest it would be in the small window of time where it is out of its shell.

Leo snorted. "Please just call me Leo. 'Mister' makes me sound old." He paused for a moment to think on his choices. Monster Hunting was a given; it was by far the most interesting class for him. Now as for his second elective . . . hmm, it was a toss between Horticulture and Cooking. While he liked singing and he liked painting, they were of a hobby than his cooking was. Not to say he wouldn't improve them, but if he were asked which one he would like to perfect first, then cooking would be his answer in a heartbeat.

Horticulture would be a valuable learning experience - not to mention would directly tie to his cooking which he could work on separately. On the the other hand, learning how to Cook from a true professional was an entirely different story than learning how to cook from textbooks and the house-help. Saint Fortuna's was a prodigious school, such that everyone of its faculty was guaranteed to be a master of their craft. No matter what he chose, quality was not something to worry about.

After a moment of pondering, he finally jotted down his second elective. He decided on Cooking. In the end, it was the best choice - it was the choice that called to him the most, really, not to mention it was currently more practical. That may change in the long run, but Horticulture would be available to him in other years. He could take it up when the time came.

"So I've decided on Monster Hunting and Cooking. What about you, Talia?" He was curious, plus it would help him get to know her better. Meanwhile, the guides took his paper and waited for Talia.

That asides, he started on plans on how to arrange his room. Obviously they'd have to discuss ground rules later on, but he was sure that could wait. They had a lot of time after all.

@Redmarshmellow
Nice, nice. I needed my fix for Fairy Tail RP's. Was too slow to get a spot Cloud Chasers, but this seems interesting enough.
𝔏𝔢𝔬 𝔍𝔬𝔥𝔫 𝔡𝔢 ℭ𝔬𝔢𝔲𝔯

Leo gave himself an imaginary pat on the back as Talia seemed to relax, the tension in her bleeding away with as she gave him a cheery smile. That was good, and possibly the best result he could ask for – he honestly wouldn’t know what to do if she had remained nervous around him after that. His repertoire for putting people at ease was limited, to say the least, especially in comparison to his ability to intimidate people instead.

“Video games is a topic I’m not too familiar with,” he replied honestly. “Never really captured my interest, but then again, I’ve never actually played a video game. Swimming is something I can relate too though – I often go swimming with my brothers and sisters along with a couple of maids in our family’s lake.”

A somewhat subtle implication of his family’s status – while the de Coeur family was well-known among the middle class and practically a household name among the elite, not everyone felt the need to pay attention to every noble family there was - it wasn’t as though it was important to their lives in the long run. People could get by just fine without knowing his family's name.

But that still did not change the fact of the matter that his family was wealthy, powerful, and nobility, higher even when compared to others of the same mold, and with that fact came the inevitable complications that were typical to those born in such families. Some might take offense to his family's wealth itself, out of jealousy or such, or might be negatively predisposed towards them for another reason. Sometimes, one did not even need a reason.

So Leo decided that if his new partner would be in any way affected by the implications of that wealth, it would be better to know now. Of course, just asking directly would be rude – not to mention pretentious – so he would just hint at it and see how she reacted instead.

On to another topic, it seemed his little joke had been answered at least half-seriously. Autophobia . . . if he recalled correctly, that was a fear of being alone? He couldn't recall all the details about it - he'd read about it only in passing - so he wasn't sure if it applied to physical isolation or mental ones, or maybe both? Whatever the case . . .

"As for your fear, it's a shame that I can't use it," he said, "because as long as I'm your partner, I will never allow you to feel alone."

They were bonded now, for better or for worse; whatever changes may occur in the coming days, that would not change, and until the time that they were to go their separate ways, he was as responsible for her well-being as she was for his. To him, that was the essence of what their bond was about. It was the the least that was expected of them.

Eventually the two of them made it to their room. The double-doors were both marked with the numbers 230 in gold.

"So this here's yer room." The attended threw the doors open, and her partner dragged their luggage inside. The inside was spacious, and compared to their rooms last year, very luxurious. It was also, he noted, very private. With the wall dividing the room in two, it was entirely possible to get through the year without so much as seeing the other side.

The volunteers proceeded to explain a few basic rules and various other tidbits about their room. The information was rather basic and therefore easy to process, so Leo didn't pay much attention to it, diverting some of his time to thinking of where to place his books and how to arrange his things. His interest was piqued, however, once the volunteer brought up electives.

He knew at once which ones he wanted to take. The problem was, would Talia be fine with his choice?

According to the volunteer, the Introduction to Monster Hunting course required both mage and familiar to participate, which meant that before he could sign up, he'd need Talia's approval.

He stared at the paper in his hand for a moment, before sighing and turning to his partner. "Well Talia, it seems that joining the Monster Hunting class requires us to go as a pair. Personally, I'd like to go. What about you?"
