What I’m Really LikeLucrezia is intimidating, cold and fearless, which is something most mobsters knows perfectly. She has a special case of self adoration, thinking of herself as a Goddess or untouchable person. If there is anything Lucrezia wants, there’s nothing she won’t do to get it. Her wit and intelligence is also something she controls. Lucrezia is someone who needs to have full control over something. If she doesn’t, things
will go wrong. She has always had a very business ethic sort of view point, choosing to believe that the best possible option is usually the one that involves the most money. Greed does not motivate her but she has been aware it is the only thing that speaks louder than violence.
All About My PastThis is the tale of the grimmest believer in NYC, daughter of criminal and wife to chaos, she's been through life with light steps and spiteful thoughts, yet this troubled ethereal being could be something the Boss won't be for too long, something Lucrezia rejects with every fiber of her being: a queen.
When she was three her father had told her she came to him in the form of a dream, sweetest vanilla tasting reverie a man had ever witnessed, a source of hope. Shuddering in discomfort, she faked a smile, as the million times she had been told I love you by relatives, pretenders and a fistful of overly-attached lady friends whom got too comfortable, too soon. Why can’t I feel it, momma? She whimpered at age thirteen after she had smashed the glass chocolate box her boyfriend had given her for Valentine’s, shortly after breaking up with him. Lucrezia was meant to represent the prime pillar, but the sense of belonging was lacking and she refused to give into indulgence. Did she really have to deal with the idealization of being a hollow dream?
The beautiful country of España; the endless beaches, waves, glorious houses, and best of all, money. Growing up in one of the most lavish houses in Barcelona left young Lucrezia to live out the childhood most children only dreamt of. There were three stories to the Cardona's three story colonial home and two thousand acres of land with grazing horses, sheep, and chickens. The Cardonas were beyond rich. Her parents happened to be mobsters affiliated to the Spanish mafia, second most powerful criminal organization of the city and perhaps the whole country, at age thirteen the princess had known of everything mafia related and Lucrezia shone with raw talent when it came to it.
Yet, loneliness consumed her, as she has learned, is hardly a bitter companion once you’ve chosen your own fate, rolled the dice with a higher power; if you will. Lucrezia has never been too keen of those glorified forms of affection being physical or emotional, far from making her soul quiver in rapid passionate flames, it’s barely even a fuzzy, tingly sensation that fades before her sense of realism and the consequences hauled by romanticism. Her mother used to compare her to her father’s side grandmother – who she hated, profusely so – due her indolence, vanity, apathy and parsimonious responses to favors and responsibilities. She was her father’s little princess, far more worshiped than her mother, whatever fault she committed would be not just excused but praised, because she was his very definition of perfection; perhaps since Lucrezia’s aunt had been the same thing to her grandfather, and he did try with all of his mortality, to mirror his fallen father’s persona. The Cardona princess had learned to read and write using her grandmother's medicine books at the age of three, every line drawn by her hand would be exquisite and her wit was sharp as it was venomous; termagant adoration of her father, conceited and by all awful means, a perfect liar. Lucrezia was disliked by many, her beauty and talents did not seem to hide her rather sociopath ways, sarcasm was her mother language and in case she hadn’t been clear enough she would insult you in five different languages, just to toy with you a bit, you could be turned into her chew-toy and she would be clever enough to make herself look guiltless once the bill was cut, part of her charm was clearly accredited to her unreliable personality… Because if there was anything more exciting than seeing her sweep in, was daydreaming about her being your own.
Her mother had been her worst enemy, given that her attitude was so alike to her grandmother’s and that woman had caused quite some damage in the past. Aurora had to see Lucrezia turning into the same nonchalant virago, the fighting increased as she blossomed into a woman – top of her class, with numerous studying opportunities out of country – who sought independence, to Lucrezia staying in Spain was the equivalent of having a slow, tortuous death notwithstanding she had stayed long enough to somewhat please her. Sigh no more, daddy had given her a brand new apartment in America(after enough "consideration") fully equipped for her to rejoice in her liberty, if not libertinage. Even still, she never glanced back and she made sure of changing her number as soon as she drove off into the icy dusk; she had gotten what she wanted from them. College came quickly and with a degree in chemistry, Lucrezia was able to get a job as a intern at JOVE Research. The world, it had to kneel before her as though she was a goddess from the Olympus, luckily this attitude got her ahead in multiple occasions and it would all start with her reciprocating whatever sweetness was sent her way, yet she would never extend a helping hand, whatever switch made people love each other, die for the other, was not added to her when she was built. At age twenty-one, the life of the prestigious heiress to an empire of spanish origins knew her time of independence has come to an end when she stood face to face to the man CEO of Cardona Enterprises. The self-made man made his way into this damned town as vultures, circling above waiting for the perfect moment to dive in and tear to shreds and grab whatever wealth they can stumble across.
Bruno Valdes, an art curator, Latin American history connoisseur and wise investor it was expected for him to hold and nurture privilege, honor and accomplishments in his lineage, was to marry Lucrezia by convenience alone. The rebellious child kicked in and walk away from the compromise by her efforts were futile, and the results were merely staled. The man was twenty years her senior, and was all too bland for her taste. In three occasions she tried to run away – the last being at her wedding – but her mother, Bruno’s sister Katya and her father's loyal servant Alejandro Lleida made it impossible. A devious plan started itself for Lucrezia and that was she was not capable of living a lie.
During the honeymoon, a skiing accident at the Swiss Alps, Bruno Valdes suffered a brain injury that would leave him in a comatose state, which would only end with his death. As his wife and only beneficiary Lucrezia inherited his millions, along with the townhouse located in the Upper West Side.
Lucrezia, is another name that slips from lips like poetry in ravishing urge or boiling hatred depending on the transmitter. To many she is just another socialite in the scene, just a facade she keeps from people from discovering the truth.
