Joshua refers to this power as 'Guardian', and can summon/dismiss it at will
thewizardguy

It can be materialised out of thin air, at will, by Joshua.

True, it would probably tear instead of shattering if it had the properties of steel. I should probably have had more details on the exact physical properties of the golems, clarifying things like hardness and flexibility.

Yes, the 10 golems are quire powerful. But to be fair, he only gets to do that when he's fighting at least 10 people. If you're fighting him one on one you only have to deal with a single Guardian, which is powerful but generally weaker in combat than other characters. If you think it's too powerful that's fine. But it's not like 10 golems is his 'standard' combat mode.

If Joshua went unconscious I imagine the Guardians would still materialise, but they'd be stuck performing purely defensive actions. Standing around the unconscious Joshua and intercepting attacks, maybe stabbing anyone who got within arm's reach.

Again, if you think it's too powerful I'll happily nerf it.
@Lord Wraith

Didn't realise I left so many things unclear, sorry.

- the Guardians split off from the 'main' guardian.

- They're superhuman, but not very superhuman. And the toughness and knife fingers. That's about it.

- Guardians are semi-sentient. They're capable of basic short-term decision making, but it's fairly animalistic.

- the number inconsistency is me being a moron. It's supposed to be a limit of ten.

- I wrote it under limitations cuz it's a limit. If you don't think it counts, that's fine. I'll write it somewhere else.

- Anyone who is intending to inflict physical harm counts. If you have made the decision, consciously or unconsciously, to inflict harm on Joshua, then you count. Angry person doesn't count. The lady would count the moment she decided to slap him (although Joshua obviously wouldn't have the Guardian attack the lady for this.)

Durability of steel, but a spindly frame. Someone with 1-ton super strength should be able to shatter them fairly easily. If you want I can lower it, though. But I suspect based on your wording that you think this ability is too powerful as is?
So here's another attempt at a power for Joshua. How's this one sound?

@Lord Wraith
That makes sense. I wanted a more fun version of super strength/durability, with an interesting weakness. In this case, he'd be weakened by being removed from an urban environment. But I can understand if the ability is too hard to keep track of, or too powerful at maximum strength.

Besides, I liked the idea of an ability intended to 'harvest' humanity being used by a good guy. My original idea was that his power, unbeknownst to him, also drained Mana. So he was a non-magic user with stupendous amounts of mana, constantly charging up a veritably limitless reserve to power a spell he didn't know how to cast.

I think I'll keep the general concept, but just change the power to something else.
@Lord Wraith

Thanks. I must admit, I was beginning to grow a tad worried.

If there's anything particularly bothersome about him, I could change it. I had a whole sleuth of ideas for character concepts, so I'm not likely to run out any time soon. Worst case, I steal something from Worm.
<> Caleb Temeraire <>

Age: 16
Grade: St. Laurels 2nd year

Biography:
Caleb is the best at everything he tries.

This is both the sad truth and the absolute standard that he sets for himself. As a child he always had to beat the other children at all the games. If there was a game he wasn't the best at, he would work furiously until he was. His natural talent combined with his determined attitude meant there were few skills he couldn't master, and he quickly climbed through the academic ranks. He was a genius, and he had to be a genius at everything. Time proved to only stoke the fires of his determination, and he set his sights at the top. He would forsake everything, friends and family too, for his goals.

That's not to say that Caleb isn't a nice guy. After all, being a nice guy is just one more thing he has to be the best at. He'll go through great efforts to befriend someone, not because he genuinely cares for them but because it's a goal to achieve. Because he has to be the very most popular, and have the very most friends. It's invariably those who get closest to him that discover his toxic core. His smile is calculating, his charm well-measured. And his acts of kindness are performed more to stoke his own ego rather than out of any genuine sense of empathy for others.

This world exists for Caleb to test himself. And it's a test he intends to pass. No matter the cost.

Powers: KINETOMANCY

Caleb's power is twofold, at it's core. Firstly, his ability allows him to absorb kinetic energy from things he's touching or within 5cm of his skin. He can store this power inside of his body. The second aspect of his power is the ability to expel that energy. He uses this to greatly enhance his physical abilities, counter enemy attacks, and to super-charge his punches.
-- <Gravity Charge> The force exerted on physical object by gravity is a form of kinetic energy too. As such Caleb can absorb it. This charges him while rendering the object in question weightless, or reducing it's weight greatly. This energy can then be used to propel Caleb, granting him the ability to fly. Or it can be charged to further enhance his physical abilities. Abilities that lose their gravity don't lose their inertia, or their mass.
-- <Kinetic Infusion> This ability allows Caleb to infuse objects with his kinetic energy, instead of expelling it directly from his body. He can use this to enhance weaponry, launch large objects, control the movement of objects he's touching and even to imbue the air around him. He can imbue the air with a large amount of energy to create a concussive explosion, or he can gain more precise control over the air within 5cm of his skin.
-- <Immortal Warrior> Every part of Caleb's body is a vector for his abilities. His blood, bones, marrow and even his spit count as being part of his body at all times. This means that Caleb's ability keeps his body together when damaged. Even if you were to rip his heart out of his chest, he'd keep the blood in his body moving using kinetic energy control. It's not that he can't be killed, but rather that wounds don't slow him down in the slightest. Combined with his determination, this makes him a tricky opponent to defeat.

Relationships:

King: More than anything, Caleb wants to surpass King. To become the greatest fighter in all the schools. King's reputation is exactly the sort of thing that Caleb wants, and he'll stop at nothing to get it.

-- Terubi Musen --

Terubi nonchalantly stepped through the crowds, on her way to her destination. Images and text flitted across her vision, numbers occasionally sneaking onto the edges of the screen that was her face. A glimpse at the storm within. People sending texts over their phone, browsing the internet, playing games, or doing other things. She could see it all. Like a bottomless pit of hedonistic self-indulgence. There was not a single person here in this crowd who she could not trace through their digital signature. Those few who weren't actively using their phones for one reason or another were still connected, receiving information from the great world wide web. Texts from friends, updates for apps, or just simple weather information. Everybody was connected. Nobody was free. And to Terubi, that digital web was an open book that she could read. That she was forced to read, in a way.

But today's walk was no ordinary stroll. No, she was doing recon. Today was the day that she officially joined Black Tree on a proper job, that she finally earned herself a place among their ranks. And as such she couldn't show off anything but her very best. Soon she'd show them that she was absolutely invaluable. And in order to do that she had a bit of a plan.

Tentatively, she dipper her foot into the vast stream of data flowing around her consciousness. It was like an ocean, but never still. Always moving, always changing. Even with her vast mental computing power there was so much information that it required active concentration for her to achieve much of anything. But this much she could handle. It was easy, even, with how much she'd practised. She took this wild unsorted pile and divided it into categories. Immediately she discarded the games and the updates and the systems nonsense. Useless computer data. Instead she focused on the text messages, the phone calls, and the communications. Virtual chats frequently stored the whole conversation, and then repeated that conversation to one another every time it updated. Instead of singular texts she saw many copies of the same conversation as it updated, adding a new text to the end every time. She sorted through this sea of text for key words, certain phrases linked to her interests and target. They were likely using some degree of code, so she couldn't be too explicit, but there was only so much you could hide when she looked through that person's entire conversation.

It was easy, in the docks area, to tracks down a number of Kojima thugs. In a flash she had their phone numbers. Teasing out the rest was child's play. She sent one a text message, using the signals of one of their contacts. A friend, apparently, or a colleague. Didn't matter. She simply asked the thug to check whether he'd received an email, and he did. Upon logging in he sent his details to the Google Servers, and those servers sent him back the OK signal, as well as a KEY. Terubi intercepted both the codes and the KEY, granting her full access to the poor sod's email. From there gaining access to the rest was easy. She tracked him with his own phone's GPS as she went through his list of contacts, figuring out which ones were inside of her range. The ones who were swiftly fell for the same trap.

Terubi logged their names, their faces, their numbers, and anything else she considered important. Her ability wrote a new file into one of her phones, allowing her to easily store the information. All the orders these thugs had received, the names of their bosses, and any plans they might be involved with. Several of the thugs 'accidentally' sent texts or calls to their bosses. The outgoing and incoming signals gave Terubi some indication at least of where they were, and allowed her to locate those bosses' current locations.

Sure, they'd figure something weird was going on with them all getting empty messages from their thugs, but it didn't matter. Terubi had everything that she wanted. All the passwords and communications she needed to tear these people apart. Several of these thugs had material in their histories that was explicit enough that she was fairly certain she could blackmail them into leaving Kojima entirely. Others she could stall and misdirect through faked information supposedly sent from their bosses. All the pieces had been laid in place.

Smugly, Terubi turned around and moved to head towards her meeting with her new boss. If this went off without a hitch, she'd have everything she needed to practically guarantee the success of her teams' plans.
@vancexentan
Ah, sorry about that. I wasn't sure how much to add to it.

Rocks fall mode, eh? Sure, that's fine by me. Terubi's a new recruit after all. She's expendable ^-^.

I'll have a look through the IC, and see if I can find an opening to post.
