Carver's throwing a punch at the barkeep unless someone stops him.

I'll leave that information here. Do with it what you will.
@TheWizardLizard And if you kill him, then the town will see you as a villain

Kill him? Noooooo.

But Carver is... not a forward thinking man. As evidenced by the fact that he just spent 75% of his money on a meal for a random stranger.

Oh, also, purple.
Carver was up from the table and across the inn almost immediately. He saw the elf remove his scarf, revealing the disfigured face within - but to Carver, he had revealed something else; a character of fairness unsuited to his features. He had shown compassion, in his actions - this was a good man.

Then the barkeep opened his mouth, and Carver clenched a fist. A liar, a cheat, a cruel man who spat in the face of kindness. Trying to muster all the gentleness he could in that moment, he put a hand, gingerly, on the girl's shoulders. "You don't have to be afraid," he whispered. "Nobody here will harm you."

That done, he retreated his hand and turned to the bar. "You cheat," he said, slowly, steadily, his voice gaining power with every word. "You lie. You prey on the innocent, the drunk, the vulnerable. You spit in the face of an honorable man. You are arrogant, greedy, and cruel, and you know not the love of the sun." He was shouting now, and he rested a both fists on the bar. "My name is Sir Carver. I am a Paladin of the Sun, and I bring these charges before you. What say you in your defense?"
I think the barkeep has been upgraded to 'villain' in Carver's rather... binary world view.

This is bad news for anyone.

Looks like the honor is going to be all mine. I just hope your secret isn't super deadly or something.

Carver'll probably go over with him while he asks, if only to stand behind him smiing and making thumbs-up.
Cool Uncle Kelvin, sneaking Furnace explosives already. :p

Does she like explosions and fire? I suppose Carver could just gallantly carry her about on his back.

Not if she wants to get anywhere fast - Carver has the land speed of a crippled snail.

Though he might make a pretty good artillery platform for the casters.
They were almost there. Chris wasn't sure if that was a good thing, seeing as how they hadn't lost her yet, but at least at the train station nobody else would... be... hurt. Oh, no.

Warm bed warm air, mother, father, smells like pine trees, far, far away. Cannot go back. Friendly faces foul, fear, famous fault on a favorite festival, freak freak FREAK GET OUT OF HERE FREAK. Numbers burn, want to and don't want to, afraid of friendly faces.

Lucky, so lucky, lovely lady, sings like strings. I think I'm in love. Blood, blood, sticks and coats and cloys, he won't die can't die smells like copper burns like hate.

There were people here, at the train station. Chris called out a warning as he came towards them at a dead run, hoping that if the monster wouldn't scare them off, he might. "Run! Run run run!"
Carver patted the gnome on the back as he devoured the meal. He saw that the woman had gone to sit with the half-elf; a troubling alliance, possibly, but not one that seemed to pose an immediate danger.

The strong-looking man has asked him a question, he realized. The offer was a tempting one - he was already traveling, and friends were good to have, especially when one was as poor as he was. "I'd be glad to travel with you, friend." He extended an armored hand. "My name is Sir Carver. A pleasure to make your aquaintance." Although...

He coughed slightly. "However, I feel honor-bound to see to the well-being of my new friends," he said, gesturing to the gnome and to the corner, where the strange girl sat. "Perhaps you could propose them the same question, and we may all go off together? I'm not sure I could leave either in the same state I found them."

Wait, lemme fix mine instead!
All I need is a minute or two!

Just fixed mine for Kronshi's, you can still fix yours to adjust for mine if you like.

Also, this barkeep is a dick.
@TheWizardLizard Read my post, he upped the price to 35

Oh, missed that. Fixing.
