May jumped, startled by a near by voice. Looking up, she was staring into the face of the famous Hermonia.
"
Oh, um, yes," she replied, taking the offered hand. "
Same here." May's speech was much less graceful and far less tactful in comparison to the school idol's, but she tried to smile anyway. Although, she was surprised that Hermonia knew her name at all.
Sitting back, the young girl smirked to herself when she realized how many of her classmates would love (and probably kill) to be in her shoes right now. However, as far as May could tell, the girl before her seemed like a normal person. Albeit, there was something off about the way she smiled. It made May nervous, but she wasn't sure why.
May tried to ignore it and chalked it up to the fact that Hermonia was an upperclassman. Just then, occurred to May that the other girls were probably a different year than her, and that's why she knew none of them.
A moment later, another girl entered the bus. It was again a face she recognized but wasn't familiar with. Shortly after the red head, a man stepped aboard and began elaborating on their assignment. He seemed odd and unlike most of the facility and staff that worked at the academy.
Having Hermonia lean over and whisper made May jump again. Her face even went a bit flush. It felt strange for her to have someone so physically close to her, especially someone who had such a large following. Regardless, it comforted May to know that Hermonia was just as surprised by the news as she was.
May, however, could kind of understand a lack of computer knowledge and was more concerned that they'd need help doing laundry! What kind of background could these boys have come from that they had so few life skills? What kind of parents could have possibly raised their child with such little knowledge of how to survive? Probably prissy rich kids who had everything done for them.
These thoughts worried the blonde as she listened intently to the rest of the speech. She had been under the impression this was going to be a normal tutoring job, however, it was turning out to be much more. She could feel a knot forming in her stomach. Anxiously, May slid her hands under her thighs to stop herself from fidgeting with them and began to bite her lower lip instead. She had not mentally prepared for this.
After his speech, May watched as the man exited the bus and disappear into the distance.
"
Yes...That is odd," May replied thoughtfully. "
He...he didn't even go back into the building," she noted, perplexed by the whole situation. "
Does he even work for our school? I didn't recognize him at all..." May looked to Hermonia for answers. Surely, she of all people would be most familiar with the school staff.
Just then, the bus began moving and the closer they got, the more anxious May became. She knew she had to tough it out, but she wanted nothing more than to go back to her dorm and focus on something else. Anything else.
