Jack would almost hesitate as he looked into her eyes, before he would just nod and smile. "I don't know what it is about you, but I like it. You capture any of those people and you'll get paid well. Maybe even a standing job offer if you like." He would say with a smile, which would fade as his earpiece would continue to pump out questions. "Excuse me please." Stepping a but to the side he would turn it back on. "Yes you can all participate if you play nice, no I don't mind at all, please keep me posted, and Tyler, if I have to remind you to have some god damn courtesy one more time today we'll see just how happy you'll be! Do we understand? I'm in a meeting. Radio silence. Keep. Me. Informed. Go!" He would shout, flicking it back off. Turning back to Aqua and rubbing his face slightly, Jack would shake his head. "And by the way, if you accomplish it without mildly irritating me, I'll give you a bonus." He would say as he moved back to the desk. "I'll give you whatever you need to help, just give me a call." He would reach into his desk and hand her an earpiece similar to his own.
So, I posted, but I would really like a clarification of the obstacles so I can post accordingly.
Jack, being used to checking on small details at the speed of sound, was rather excited about the prospect of this whole race. He was already a track star in school before he got his powers, and he was always the most adventurous on the cross country team. So, with his wind back, he was preparing himself mentally to win. Until Violet fell, however. His competitive mindset made him block things out, and his hand wasn't fast enough to catch hers as she made her fall. He saw her pop her hand back into place and grimaced, worried more for her than the damn bathrooms.that moment of hesitation cost him a bit of ground. Seeing her take off, he realized that he was about to put himself in a bad spot. Jack took off at full speed, remembering that his training wasn't all superpowers. He began to do what a speedster does best: think on his feet. If I can dodge things moving at super speed by seeing it, he'll have to dodge ahead of time. He started to duck and weave as he moved, dodging the shots and taking care not to trip up. Never stopping his feet, Jack was careful to keep an eye ahead, ready for the next obstacle. He leapfrogged across the pool, then continued to hop the ledge as he carefully gripped each handhold, closing his distance between the front runners as fast as possible, making sure not to miss a beat. He was reasonably confident he would score in the top, but some of the others here looked pretty ready and capable. Keeping his thoughts to himself, Jack cleared the pit and made a lot of ground. Next, the hall. All of the electric poles didn't frighten Jack too badly. He was used to dodging between obstructions well enough, although there were more than enough close calls as he weaved around them to leave his hair standing on end. "I guess being a bit behind isn't all bad..." Jack muttered as he eyed the next obstacle. Now that he'd know better than to fall, Jack planned his movements ahead of time, always keeping his eyes on the next panel. "It's a good thing that my powers don't include smarts." He'd say again quietly. Clearing the panels cleanly and feeling pretty good about it, he couldn't help but wonder how much more he would have to do. The turrets couldn't keep up with him at this rate, focusing on easier to hit targets, and the rest of the obstacles seemed... commonplace for a course. Now that he thought about it, he wasn't even sure what place he was in as he hit the final room. Thinking quickly, he decided that hesitation would be the end of him and thanked his lucky stars as he began to move through the water. His costume was a frictionless material, which minimized all resistance and made sure it wouldn't tear off and leave him naked at super speeds. It was also waterproof. This gave Jack a definite advantage as he began to weave brought the nets and pits, continually dipping and even hitting the water to make sure he wasn't shot. While he did have a better chance with the reduced water drag, it didn't stop him from taking some heavy hits from the rubber bullets, slowing him down more than he wanted. He had to lt something hit him though, to allow time to dodge those nasty nets and whatever the other things were, he didn't have time to think about it. Whatever the cost, Jack trudged forward, hoping that Violet was near and all right...
Jack Lombardi, or rather Vice, was swinging through New York, taking his time with his most recent prey. "Jakob Rollins." He hissed. "Thirty-two. Worker for the mob. Third generation. It's too bad you won't be able to continue your work. You make wonderful car bombs." Jakob was sprinting through the streets and alleyways, led on by the false hop that he could actually escape. Turning back, he fired six shots out of his pistol at Vice, the bullets missing entirely as the so called hero twirled easily out of their path. Deciding he was done playing games with him, Vice swooped down like a bird of prey, tackling the mobster and skidding the alley on him. Vice looked him over and took the money from Jakob's pockets, then stopped as he inspected the gun. "We remember this gun. You used it to kill that old lady next to the Queensborough Bridge. That was different. They begged me to let you rot in jail, but this time you'll never be found. We won't let them buy your freedom." He absorbed the gun, hiding it away like he does everything else in that strange weightless pocket that is the symbiote. Suddenly, tendrils shot out around the monster as he began screaming in fear and pleading for his life. Vice didn't seem to hear him as he dragged him within, consuming the man whole and leaving no trail. Vice hissed in satisfaction as he felt the life be absorbed into himself, feeling the energy course through their being. Leaping into the air and moving between buildings, Vice slipped into his more costumed appearance, swinging through the air and gliding between the everlasting buildings of New York. He remembered the address he was supposed to reach, and knew he wasn't exactly on time. But criminals don't punish themselves. Arriving to the building, he landed in the nearby alleyway and allowed himself to appear in his usual outfit of a white and red trimmed hoodie, dark blue to black jeans, and some basketball shoes. Jack walked in with a smile, seeing everyone 'crowding' in and made his way to a spot where he was close enough to them. He chose to remain silent and await everyone rather than talk. They probably didn't want him here anyway. But he knew he had the right to be. After all, I'm a hero. Right?
Jack would smile at Aqua. "We need him alive at all costs. He has a slight healing factor, so he doesn't go down easily. This one has escaped me once before.." He would be rubbing his chin in though as he looked over the list a few times again. "Whomever you choose to take, any that can be brought in alive would be worth much more. You should start by heading near the coast, maybe the trees, but I would recommend you don't attack him on sight. He might already know you're there before you see him, and showing any amount of aggression or affiliation with Helios will prompt his immediate attack. I've seen him crush a human being with his mind. Nobody wants to see your pretty face crushed like a pop can, 'kay?"
^needs an appearance, but otherwise fine.
The sentries would quickly open the door, placing the black bag over his head and escorting Magi into the base. He would hear a lot of machinery, as well as feel himself descend a bit. After a good five minutes of walking, the bag would be removed, and Magi would be within a fairly well made bunker of sorts, one of the FF's secret bases. There would be people moving every which way, many armed and not, and signs would direct him to any point in the base. One of the sentries would offer a warning. "Be civil while you are here, Magi. Over half of the populace is armed. And more than half again are Metahumans, including many of us. Do as you will and go, if you would please." With that, they would simply leave.
Name: Jack Lombardi Alias: Vice Age: 22 Gender: Male Skills/Powers: Symbiote. -Can generate web-like organic substance from himself -Adhere to any surface -"Spider-sense" -Skilled at laying traps, I.e. Barbwire web strands, nets and the like. -Heightened senses (all 5) -Undetectable to most radar systems -Can "see" from every inch of his body -Can manipulate his appearance for camouflage, impersonation and other purposes -Can manipulate himself into any desired shape or size (almost) -Can generate diamond hard extensions of the body, like weapons and armor. -Has acidic saliva in symbiote form -Has a high-density organic material sprayed from the mouth, similar to the web but extremely durable and heavy, would need super strength to remove (think silk cocoon) -Super strength and agility -Can remotely control extensions of his own Symbiote, even when separated. -Can Glide by effectively becoming a wingsuit. -Regeneration. Equipment: None. Personality: Jack is usually very tense, although he has a soft heart and helps when he can. Generally, he would rather be left alone, afraid he'll hurt others due to his temper. He argues with his symbiote frequently, attempting to control his urges... Weakness: Extremely vulnerable to fire and heat-based weaponry, as well as sonic blasts or very high frequency sound waves. Hero or Villain: Anti-Hero History: Jack was generally your average college student, living off of grants and scholarships, paying his rent by working for newspapers and other odds and ends. One day he was caught in the wrong place at the right time. A group of muggers held him up for his money, and being short tempered as he was, Jack decided to fight back. He stopped one, then heard a loud bang. His chest hurt. Blood. He fell over on his knees and tried to crawl deeper into the alley, away from them. Trying to breath. Wanting to live. He felt a cool sensation flow over him as the symbiote chose him as its host. Screaming. More blood. The taste of flesh... Jack awoke, to his horror and relief, to see the mangled corpses of his assailants. Large animalistic bite marks lined their bodies. But Jack felt the presence. And as much as he was disgusted, he liked it. Over the months he and what would be named Vice became close, their bond being one of trust and survival. While they may bicker and argue, they always agree on one thing: their lives will go on, no matter who Jack must kill. While he may fight for good, consuming the enemy seems to be frowned upon. One must do what they can to survive. Appearance: Jack is about 6'2", with black hair that he keeps short and spiked slightly in the front. His eyes are a neon green color. His face is sharp and angled, handsome features and a tan complexion. His body is toned and very fit, although on the slightly lean side. You'll generally catch him in a white hoodie and jeans, with high top sneakers. As Vice, he appears to be wearing a white costume similar to Spider-man's own. However, the body is silver/white, with a blood red spider whose legs cross over either shoulder, meeting in a similar symbol on the back as well. He has streaks of this red down his arms and legs, as well as the eyes are outlined by the red. He chooses when to expose his mouth, a gaping maw of straight and serrated teeth that curl very slightly back, as well as a serpentine you fur that flits and hangs from the mouth, dripping with red saliva. He may or may not expose his claws, and keeps to the traditional "costume" appearance to reduce the fear of those around him, as well as attempt to look more heroic and hide his true nature. Other: United. HI SCARLET!!!
Jack would almost look stunned. Horrified. Insulted! "My robots work just fine, thank you very much!" He would say with a dramatic flourish as he waltzed around the desk to stand a short distance from her. "The people controlling them..." Trailing off and waving his hand in a so-so manner. "But that's not important. What is important is that you... Are not them." She would notice that he tends to be very animated as he speaks. "The number one," he would point,"Is Psycho Wolf. Last spotted out near the Sea of Trees where my robots ambushed him. They went silent, and he vanished. Recordings show he was heavily damaged. Now normally," he would continue,"I would send a damn convoy, but as you can see... There are trees. Everywhere. He could have escaped to the Emerald Coast as well, but that might as well be enemy territory." He would say, glancing to make sure she was following. _________________ The sentry would come back to the microphone. "Please hold your arms out at shoulder height, face downward and eyes closed. They will place a bag over your head and escort you inside. Do not resist or you will be treated as an enemy."
*insert random name here* the sentry. I don't mind being an NPC lol
