Something I wanted to do with my character, a character quirk I was playing with, was having the Trandoshan be raised by a human colony. As such I wrote them to be very human dispite their racial differences. I have a much more detailed prewriten backstory I can send you as I couldn't find a good way to incorporate it in this format. I wrote it that way becasue I thought it would open up a lot of funny rp, like a huge intimiating figure that ultimately is very soft Underneath. I can change race if it's truely a big deal. The other stuff I will definatly change and work on as I wrote this up at like 2:30 am. @Ellri
How long do you usually write? One to two paragraphs Do you enjoy writing collaborative posts for things like conversations, combat, etc.? I feel that it's essential for interesting character interactions. Is grammar and depth of writing important to you? I try my best to write my posts in depth and with understandable grammar. I feel there's no need to over complicate posts with needless fluff words but I feel it has to be comprehensive. Are there any writing subjects you particularly enjoy exploring? I enjoy writing all settings as long as the story remains consistent and the players stay true to their characters. Is there anything you really dislike and want to avoid like the plague? Real world politics, erp, and meta gaming. Is there something you are uncomfortable with happening to your character? ANY ERP. Everything else is fair game. Do you have any short-term or long-term goals with this character? I have a plot hook in his back story that's mostly their for me to draw on for inspiration but I have no qualm with a gm implementing it or ignoring it. Questions like why he only has one eye or where he actually came from are made in a way that they can be ignored or utilized as the gm sees fit. Character wise Snow has always struggled with his lack of humanity. Growing up in an exclusively human colony only amplifies the feeling of not belonging. It's not that he was excluded or looked down on, but it was undenyible he was different. Something I really want to do is put Snow in situations that will either stengthen his perceived humanity or shatter it.
Name: Snow (No Legal Name On Record) Species: Trandoshan Homeworld: Republic Human Colony World (Location Unknown) Age: 16 Gender: Male Specialisation: Engineering Current area of operation: Tatooine
Detailed appearance. Imagery insufficient.
Very unremarkable for a Trandoshan at first glance, Snow is a depressing 1.8 meters though he compensates with his more muscular build. He weighs an average 190 lb. His more notable traits include his white eye. He has lacked a left eye for as long as he can remember. His left eye has been replaced with a white ball. He dresses warm, wearing coats, sweaters, scarves, hats, anything insulated. He lacks any sence of fashion and often wears whatever he feels is "warmest".
Report on skills and talents, including level of skill.
Trained on a colony world at a very young. While not a genius by any means, he's very resourceful. His area of expertise lies with older tech and maintenance but has been able to adapt to transport craft engines and more modern console repair through his past jobs.
Report on known combat experience, training and weapons training.
The colony had it's run ins with hostile wild life. Everyone was trained with a small blaster, no where near military grade. It's standard colony rules. We have to be self sufficient. We can't rely on assistance from our sponsors without waiting weeks for our transmissions to be picked up and a craft to be redirected to our lonely section of space.
Does the Courier have, or have they ever had, a bounty on them? Are they wanted?
While not a high priority bounty Snow has stowed away on several ships in the past, and a few times stolen small amounts of cargo. This isn't something Snow is proud of but when your several weeks out of work you do what you have to. Now Snow has never been caught while stowing away but many cargo vessels are missing supplies and it's not like Snow can escape a ship without at least camera spotting him.
Detailed notes on common/favored employers and any noteworthy contacts.
Snow hardly ever has any regular contracts. He stays in a system for at most a week if not contracted to a ship. Always hoping between different systems by different ships and different crews. Snow doesn't like to stay in the same place for too long, always opting to go to another world and taking in that worlds sites for a bit.
Detailed notes on known rivals and enemies.
No one specific. Mostly just merchant captains whose ships he's has stowed away on.
List and description of other known associates.
He hasn't any close friends or colleagues, as his lifestyle forbids it. Before his life as a drifter though he was well liked at his colony home. Those most notable were: Zachade Boltickc - Adopted Father Maynoel Doddell - The colonies elder and grandmother of the settlement.
List of known belongings, including but not limited to planetary surface property, civilian and military vessels, vehicles, weapons, tools.
1x Blaster Pistol 1x Cutsom Made Starship Repair Tool Kit 1x Custom Multi-Function Tool Kit *made to accomidate his "unique" hands. They are't pretty but they do allow him to do his job.
Psychological evaluation of Courier.
He is psychologically stable. He has a happy, optimistic outlook on life. He never dwells on the problem or mistakes. To dwell is to entrap oneself in his mind. He isn't dispassionate and can empathise but he isn't the best person to ask for support, not that many look for emotional support in him. His best answer would be to just ignore it, or run from it.
List and description of known and suspected flaws. To be put into restricted database.
He is way to innocent for what he's doing. As a colony raised child he only has had dealings with those he grew up with or the occasional merchants that stopped by every once in a while. All he knows about galactic society comes from the stories Maynoel Doddell has told over the years. His race and form often attract the wrong type of attention. His personality then clashes with his form. As such, first impressions aren't easy with Snow.
known interests of the Courier.
Likes everything to an extent. Being sheltered all his life, he finds just about everything and everyone fascinating. All the gadgets and ships to all the aliens he has only heard of.
Major achievements on record.
Major failures on record. Confidential.
Early in his career he once lost a contract because he jurry-rigged a starship's power coil with an ion coil, the engine had broken down and it was replace the coil or wait for a passing ship. After the jurry-rigging the captain was warned to take it easy on the trust, who promptly ignored the warning and resumed max speed. The ion coil ended up overheating but instead of just the coil breaking the entire engine died. It took two weeks for help to arrive. The captain would have probably killed him for costing them their ship if it wasn't for Snow managing to sprint out of their rescuer's vessel leaving the captain with the bill. That captain probably is one of the people who has a bounty on Snows head.
Personal biography, as detailed by the subject for future record. Acquired shortly after last achievement of note.
A piece of paper left hidden on a piece of cargo recovered from a derelict ship. The crew seemingly evacuated. The engine had died due to a shotty repair on an already faulty engine. The paper is marked with a snowflake like drawing:
Hey dad. I'm not sure if you have got any of these notes but if by any chance these crates are going to our little icebox planet I have to let you know what I've seen. You have no idea how many times I've written that opening line. If you've gotten more than one of these you must be getting sick of it too. I'm sorry. Anyway, today I just left a world of tall buildings, taller than the space ports coms tower back home. Remember, when the snow storm cleared up that one night. You told us that such an event would only occur once every hundred years. You took us up on top the coms tower and walked us up the maintainance ladder to the roof. The horizon stretched farther than I'd ever imagined. and for once I could see the stars for my own eye. I had reached out, and I swore I could grab the lights if I just reached far enough. You'd put me on your shoulders and cheered me on. To think we could have built 10, no 20x the size of that small tower and we'd have gotten nowhere near touching those lights. Still that night I had felt closer to grasping the universe than I had ever had before. I miss you and love you so much. I'm never coming back though, not that I could if I wanted to. Funny enough, many backwater snow colonies are called "The Ice Box" by their settlers. May want to think of a new name. Still even with that you will stay in my thoughts always, but nothing more. Not until I truly have seem the universe in its entirety, grasped it all in my hand, may I feel satiated. Besides this gives me the perfect opportunity to find out who I am. I know. You have told me many times. You found me in the snow, left to die. Some say they saw a hooded figure, The sight of a baby in the frozen tundra was one thing, but a Trandoshan child being even odder. And on top it all one missing eye. Love me or not, you must have known I would seek answers eventually. I'm sorry my journey had to be sooner than later. I'm sorry.
