I'd say geth then. But what do you mean with a colony system?
Well like I said before, it might be a nice idea to have the geth be there as a sort of Collector like species. Maybe call them 'overseers' or something catchy. Alternatively, humans might also be a suitable candidate for this (given the reapers wierd interest in humans after ME1). They could have undergone the same process as the protheans had in order to become the collectors. So we could have human husks and other variants like preatoreans and scions (new ones too maybe if you're feeling creative) make up their faction. I must say I like the Geth better personally, but it's an idea like any other.
Well I am most in favour of just starting with a blank slate. (definatly not that idea of our races comming to the original mass effect galaxy with the races still there because then i'd have to rewrite my entire race from the ground up) Also, I'd like to weigh in on that camouflaged ship. The idea is good and I don't see why you can't use it but it won't be very useful. You see, in space, you can hardly work off of visual scanning given the massive distances involved. Sensors pick up heat emissions from other vessels and so a ship that just obscures its visuals will still stand out on those sensors. A stealth system like that of the Normandy works because it stores its heat emissions in special sinks but that only works for a limited time and not while in a combat situation (because operating weapons would generate too much heat). In fact, heat is the major limiting factor in space combat because larger ships especially can only go on for so long before they have to vent their excess heat lest they boil their own crews. That said, a visual camouflage system on a smaller ship is still rather handy when landing on alien worlds, if only so the locals don't just plain 'see' you. In addition, it'll probably fool any defensive system that works off of laser targeting (such as Kimo point-defence systems for example)
Well see, the main problem I have with bringing back the citadel races is this: They'd spoil the reapers for everyone. I mean, yeah the black boxes kind of did that already but actually having survivors of the reaper onslaught be around would make it completely undeniable. There will be no covering it up by the political element because there are too many witnesses. Not to mention the old races would no doubt attempt to rally the new races against the comming reaper threat. (because that was the very mission Javik (the last prothean) and his project set out to do: conserve the prothean empire in a few thousand individuals so they could emerge and found their empire again in order to rally the new races against the reapers.) I mean, it's all fine and dandy to have them be there but the implications for the RP would be huge. Just take my race, the Kimo for example. At the moment they are using the reapers as boogiemen to keep their own population in line. But the moment they hear that the Turians (a council race and the basis of the vast majority of their own technology) are still around and warning everyone the reapers are very real and actually comming... well, they'd shift into a mode where they will be actually preparing for the reapers. Like moving to capture the citadel and actually building the crucible. Like I said the implications of that are vast and I fear people just didn't put enough thought in that before they said yes to this.
Ehm... not sure if I fully understand that last post... do you want me to put up a vote for something? Anyways, here's an idea I just came up with. Somewhere in Mass effect 1 I believe it is suggested that the reapers might want to leave more reliable servants behind than the keepers aboard the citadel and the Geth are brought up. So what if the Reapers took the Geth after the last cycle and made them into their servants like they did with the protheans in the form of the collectors? So that way we can have the geth be there as servants of the reapers acting from the shadows just like the collectors before.
All of them? because I find that hard to believe since the reapers all but eliminated all traces of the protheans. I mean I get a few of them surviving (likely Asari or Krogan), like I said in an earlier post. But all of them just seems a tad excessive.
Um well just started my two hour class...add in an hour transit and some food. I would say around 4:30-5ish Pacific time.
Right, sorry about that. It got me all confused you see because I was thinking you meant as soon as ALL classes were done. Like it was a matter of days or weeks. This makes alot more sense of course. Don't know what i was thinking ;p
Right, good luck with those. Though, can I ask if you have any idea when that'll be? Just so I can get a sense of timing and all that.
alright then, that puts us at 7 civs right? Looks good. As some of you may or may not have seen, I'm writing down some more specific information on my nation's military in the CS tab. I'll keep working on that but even so, I'm ready for the first IC post whenever our GM is ;p
Yes, for combat. I can immagine making such a thing is quite a complicated afair.
