"I am ok, you see." Isabella said to Chloe, as the corners of her lips began to rise, yet the tears still slipped from her eyes. All of the childhood memories of her past were playing in her mind like a endless slideshow. She only thought of the good ones and not the bad. Just as she heard Chloe's comforting offer, she wrapped her arms around her and gave her a big hug like a little kid would do to another. "Hugs are so nice to have!" Isabella said with a humongous smile when she released Chloe from her embrace. She may have squeezed Chloe a little tighter than she knew, but she was too happy to realize. She couldn't remember the last time she had gotten offered a hug.
Isabella wiped the tears from her face with both of her hands and held back a giggle. Anytime she would hug the twins, it seemed to always be forced and their reactions to her hugging were always humorous. She broke her half of the chocolate bar into two pieces and she stuffed one of the pieces in her mouth. Isabella looked to the lake in the distance, down below and then back at Chloe after finishing her second piece of chocolate. "You like to swim?" She asked her and was curious to know Chloe's answer. A few minutes after, the sound of crackling leaves under running feet could be heard somewhere beneath them. Isabella looked below, but could not see what was there.
After walking a far enough distance, Nathan glared back at the cave to see that the strawberry blonde had jumped down from the ledge to retrieve the arrows that she had so carelessly fired at he and Doc when they first encountered her. Dumb bitch, siding with those fuckers. He thought angrily and tried to make sense of why she would protect that hooded, brain dead monster within that cave. No longer filled with a familiar human soul, but a flesh eating demon inhabiting a rotting corpse. A nightmarish memory from his past began to peak into his mind, but it was quickly stopped by the discovery of the empty boat. "Mother fuck me." Were the first things that shot from his mouth.
His mind went completely blank, and Nathan could feel a burning intensity starting to swirl in the pit of his gut. He could hear Doc ranting in the background, but he was too lost in his own disbelief to even listen. All of their belongings were gone and so was Joan. Nathan tightened the grip on the garden shears in his hands and immediately bolted back toward the direction of where the strawberry blonde had been. If there was one thing that he and Joan shared in common, it was there compulsive reactions. He'd run for the only person in his awareness and if strangers awaited along side her with guns then he'd do his best to bolt away to regroup with Doc. Faster than he expected, Nathan could see the woman with the crossbow within his vision and she had her back toward him, waiting outside the same cave. If she was involved with whoever took their things, he'd use her for bargaining while he had the possible chance. He was within a few yards at full sprinting speed when she could hear him coming and she faced him to quickly raise her weapon. Just as she pulled the trigger on her crossbow, Nathan dove toward her ankles and tackled her to the dirt. The wrestling struggle began and Nathan was surprised by her unexpected strength.
Nathan was gaining the upper hand, but he was depending on the Doc to ensure they had the advantage over the situation.
