Jaya looked over her shoulder when she heard Nikko start to hum. She smiled at him and lifted the little boy off his feet, which caused to squeal happily. She spun around with him on her hip before handing him off to his mother, who smiled at her. A man around her age came forward then and held out his hand. She smiled and took it and the two began to dance to the music that Nikko provided. Soon quite a few people were dancing and singing along with Nikko. She looked at him and grinned as she spun this way and that with her partner.

It was amazing, what taking that time to stand up for herself did. She might have just kept running if it weren't for Nikko.... She might still be at the puddle crying. The man she had burnt approached her and placed his hand on the boy's shoulder, "May I?"

The boy stepped away. Jaya looked up at the man a little terrified about what might happen. However, he held his hand out her and the two began to dance. She looked up at him, "I'm sorry... I really am.... I was scared and... I didn't mean to... I never would have on purpose.... I-"

The man cut her off with a chuckle, which was shocking, "I think I should be the one apologizing," He said in a gruff voice, "I shouldn't have scared you and I shouldn't have attacked you..."

Jaya stared at him, amazed. His face that could fell a little, "You don't get many apologies do you?"

She slowly shook her head. He nodded, "Well, may I be the first of many... Maybe Firebenders aren't that bad after all," he then left without letting her able to say another word and the boy joined her.
Jaya was thankful for Nikko, it was nice having someone else on her side. It had been a while since that had happened. When no one replied to his plea, she placed her hand on his shoulder. Her other hand rose slowly, fire drifting off of it. She moved out from behind him and started to dance with her fire. She made sure not to get too close to anyone. She didn't want to frighten anyone. Her movements drifted between regular fire bending and dancing, the motions flicking between fast and slow. People's face started to melt from their hard stone masks to looks of awe. She smiled, she supposed this wasn't the kind of firebending they knew of.

A little boy came to her, immediately stopped fire bending and just danced. She bent over and took his hands, dancing with him. He giggled as she turned him around in circles. No one was screaming about her touching the boy. No one was trying to hit her, they were laughing and enjoying themselves.
Lauralye allowed Robert to lead her to the room in which she would be staying. She looked at him when they got there and sighed, "I suppose he is also dealing with the demon war..." Her father had spent much time in his study because of those wars. She bit her lip, it was all worrying. The demons clearly had an interest in her, for whatever reason, and they clearly wanted Robert dead. Things weren't looking good for either of them. She decided, however, to focus on the positive, "Do... I really make you happy?"
Lauralye watched as people reacted to Robert, they all seemed happy about his arrival. When his grandfather entered, she looked at Robert, who seemed to smile widely. She laughed a little and nodded to the grandfather when he told her that he could not complain. She squeezed Robert's hand a little, Robert had had her worried about his relationship with his grandfather moments before. But it seemed as though the two of them got along fairly well. She fingered the tiara that hung around her neck, "It's a pleasure to meet you," She said with a small curtsy.
Lauralye looked at the building in front of them when they landed. A nervous feeling washed over her, she so badly wanted for Robert's grandfather to like her. It was a strange feeling... A feeling she wasn't exactly used to. She normally didn't care what people chose to think about her. They had to pretend to like her even if they didn't anyways. She reached out and took Robert's hand, "Ready?...."

Jaya's eyes snapped to him when Nikko told her to fight him. Her eyes widened as she looked at him in disbelief, "What?" She laughed a little and shook her head, "I... I couldn't.... I've never fought a water bender and..." She looked at her hands, thinking back to the fire she had bent in her anger. She had more or less mastered her element but that didn't make her anymore comfortable with it, "I could hurt you..."

Her gaze drifted back up to him, "Besides.... You don't even have any water...."
Lauralye didn't want to move, she wanted to stay right there, Robert's arms around her as the birds twittered their morning song. She sighed after a brief moment and stood, taking off his coat and handing it to him. She did, she noticed the wedding ring still on her finger, she stared at it, even after Robert took back his coat. Slowly, she pulled it off of her finger and tossed it into the remains of their fire. She grabbed her things and looked at Robert, giving him a small smile, "Alright, let's go."
Lauralye looked up at Robert when she felt his hand on her shoulder. She met his eyes before they started to search her face. She nodded after a moment, "Yes.... I think it just hit me all... I've actually left."

She shifted slightly so that she leaned into Robert. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, "I know did what's right... I just.... miss them all already..."

She took a deep breath, "We should go, shouldn't we?"
The morning light broke into their clearing and shone in Lauralye's eyes causing her to stir. She rose her hand, blocking the sun from her face and looked around, trying to remember where she was. When the events of the previous day sunk it, she bit her lip a little. She grabbed Robert's jacket and pulled it around her shoulders, staring at the fire that had long since died out, leaving behind black remains of wood. She looked at Robert, who lay a small ways away from her, she still believed she made the right decision leaving but it didn't make her miss home any less. She sighed and rested her head in her hands.
