Olivia is the kind of girl you would expect the goddess of growth to have. She is kind and nurturing, wanting to help people grow into the people that sometimes they donโt even see they have the potential to be. However, due to her young age and struggles with ADHD and other difficulties that demigods face, has a tendency to act out.
Likes:
โ Gardening and farming. โ Dancing like nobody's watching. โ Getting her hands dirty. โ Making a mess.
Dislikes:
โ Being told what to do. โ Chores. โ People who don't like plants (Who doesn't like plants?!) โ Homework. โ Being treated like a kid (even if she is one)
Strengths:
โ Exceedingly Skilled With Swords- Being a child of Demeter, Olive knows how to reap, to cut down. Meaning that she has a natural ability with swords that is equal to that of the Ares children. โ Optimistic - Olive always sees the brighter side of things, sometimes becoming that voice of hope when all seems dark. The way Olivia sees it, life finds away, always. โ Green Thumb- Children of Demeter always have a green thumb, capable of making any plant thrive even without their demigod abilities.
Weaknesses:
โ Age- Olivia is still young and thus is sometimes a little naive to the world. She is still making the mistakes she needs to learn from which can lead to those older than her getting frustrated with her adolescence.
Biography:
Olivia was born on the first day of Spring and left in the arms of her father. The man owned several acres of farm land that had been suffering and was wondered about rearing a child in the midst of his misfortune. However, when Steven laid eyes upon his daughter he knew that he couldn't let her go, even if it was best for her. He was completely smitten with his little girl and every chance he could, spoiled her. As Olivia grew, so did her father's fields. Soon they prosperous and her father had enough money to live comfortably, had Olivia wanted she could have comfortably sat within their home and never work. However, the girl had a spark for farming and the moment she was old enough was out in the fields with her dad and his workers.
At the age of 8, Olivia was starting to struggle in school as most demigods did and would often opt out of homework to be in the field. Her father seeing this didn't know what to do. He wanted to celebrate his daughter's work ethic but he couldn't ignore that she was struggling in so many other ways. She was acting out in ways that were beyond that of regular temper tantrums and he was concerned for her. He reached out to her mother, the only way he knew how, through two rings she had left him, ones he had intended to be their wedding bands. Demeter came to him and told him of a camp where she would be among her peers, that he didn't have to lose his daughter for her to succeed beyond the farm. The Goddess took the rings from him for a moment, blessing them, before handing them back and requesting that they be given to their daughter, so that she might hold her mother and father with her.
It was that summer that Olivia began to attend Camp Half Blood and she has returned every summer since.
Gifted to her by her mother to both assist in battles she would come to face. The machetes act as a sign for the trails Olivia will have to forge in her life.
Weapon/s Name:
ฮธฮตฯฮฏฮถฯ and ฯฯฮตฮฏฯฯ - Reap and Sow
Weapon/s Type:
Twin Machetes
Attributes:
Made of Celestial Bronze, the two blades act both as weapons in the field as well as tools for harvesting. They hide away in two rings which is wears on each middle finger.
Bexley is reserved and an avid people watcher. Her days prior to Camp Half-Blood were spent keeping most social interactions to a minimum. This has caused her to be most comfortable when alone and isolating herself. However, Camp Half-Blood is not about that and Chiron forces her into social interactions with campers on the regular. This though has caused issues in the past as she doesn't always pick up on social cues if she isn't fully paying attention and even then things can go south quickly. Often times this can cause issues with others because it can frustrate them. She is blunt and rarely holds back her opinions of people, which she thinks in admirable but sometimes people just donโt like the truth. However, most people who know her story (although, she isn't one to share it) tend to be pretty understanding of why she is the way she is. She shies away from people but if you manage to gain her trust, you have her full loyalty..
Likes:
โ A clear night sky away from any light pollution โ Camping and the woods overall โ The zone she falls into in the middle of a fight โ The shelter that she has found at the camp โ Long showers and bubble baths โ The people who have taken her inโฆ Not that sheโll ever tell them
Dislikes:
โ The ocean... โ Reading.
Strengths:
โ Street Smarts- Bexley has seen the worst in people over the years and knows when to keep an eye on things. Her gut is strong and almost always right. This extends passed people though as well, looking to procure something for cheap, Bexley can probably find it for you.. โ Strong Work Ethic- Bexley wants to be hereโฆ She knows that she is behind in comparison to her peers on years but she isnโt going to ever let that show. She works hard for everything she has and wants and never sees it as enough. She is always working to better herself for those around her. โ Flexible and Reliable- Throw a task at Bexley and she will complete itโฆ No promises on how well it will be doneโฆ But it will get done. . โ Independent- Bexley is incredibly independent, when left to her own devices she will manage both to survive and in some cases thrive.
Weaknesses:
โ Poor Social Skills- Blunt and unaware of social cues are a bad mix and without intention, Bexley has been known to cross a line and hurt someoneโs feelings. โ Sometimesโฆ Too Independent- Bexley knows she prefers to be aloneโฆ and so she isolates herself, sometimes to the point of other campers or counsellors having to get involved to get her involved. โ Nihlist- Bexley sometimes sees the world for worse than what it isโฆ When she gets like this, itโs hard to prove to herself otherwise becauseโฆ She hasnโt really been shown a reason to think otherwise.
Biography:
Bexley doesn't know anything about her father that the rest of the world doesn't know, she doesn't even know what drew him to her mother when she was 20. But something had and she was worse for it. Her mother's wasn't able to work due to mental illness, which left them on unstable footing. It was just Bexley and her mother, with no support system, and after Bex's fifth birthday, they found themselves moving from shelter to shelter trying to stay off the streets. She didn't understand at the time why she wasn't going to the school but when they were going from meal to meal, it wasn't exactly something that she dwelled on. It wasn't important to her. What was though, was the absence of her father. Why hadn't he come and taken them in? Why wasn't he giving them a home that her mom couldn't afford. However, whenever Bexley asked her mother the story was always the same. At the time, hadn't believed it, Sarah had always told these strange stories that no one really could believe and ended up blaming it on her deteriorating mental health.
At the age of 12, Bexley ran away from her mother, after a cruel comment during one of her mother's episodes stating that life would be better had she never had Bexley. Looking back on it, Bexley knew her mother didn't really mean it, she was just sick. However, she had fully believed it when she ran away and ended up living on the streets by herself. A year later was when the weird things started happening. Strange creatures chasing her through the streets of Vancouver but with her mother's history of Schizophrenia, she thought that maybe it was happening to her. She was thinking logically about it, too logically until she was saved from the claws of some beast by a man with a sword. Quickly, he explained to her what had happened, what was happening, and that they needed to get a move on. It all seemed pretty sketchy and she might not have gone had it not been that another monster was charging at them.
That was how, at the age of 15, she came to Camp Half Blood, dirt covered, in ragged clothing, and completely illiterate.

Electrokinesis:
ฯ Can withstand electric shocks. ฯ Tends to give people shocks when touched. ฯ Can call down powerful bolts of lightning to strike their enemies although it tires them when they do so.
After fending for herself on the streets, Bexley is quick on her toes and was impressive considering her lack of training when she first arrived. Her natural abilities, that all demi gods have for just being demigods, seemed to have heightened further due to the circumstances of her growing up. She has the talent and is now learning the technique. Her hunger to be better, to kick ass and stay alive, has her growing abilities exponentially. She has a drive that has allowed her to rise through the ranks at the camp in her last three years.
Moana jumped a little when someone suddenly and quite literally just appeared behind her. She looked at him confused before she seemed to search the immediate area for other people, thinking there had to be someone else he was talking to. With no one else around her, she realized that he had to be talking to her and shook her head for a moment, โI canโt say that I know what you are talking aboutโฆ.โ
Othello blinked at her. โYou do see that blonde over there right? The entitled one with the bad attitudeโ He seemed more concerned than any other person would be about her noticing the other girl...who was still coughing on leftover smoke. He was glad for the cover his sunglasses gave as it concealed the small amount of fear he had. After all seeing things was normal for him, but imagining entire human beings was new.
Moana looked over in the direction he indicated and nodded, โYesโฆ I just donโt know why you are so concerned with her and her attitude. Is she really bothering you that much?โ She pursed her lips.
Othello straightened and shrugged. โTo be honest yes.โ He looked like he was about to say more, but stopped himself when he saw two women coming at him. One seeming rather upset. โI believe my usual impressive tricks have done the opposite. Have any ideas for hiding?
Moana stood there staring blankly as the woman yelled at the gentleman who stood with her and then he turned back to Moana and well, everything had started to go over her head as she just tried to grasp at words of English and piece together what exactly was happening. Moana shook her head again, โI just got hereโฆ I canโt say that I do. I amโฆ I meanโฆ Why are you talking to me?โ
Othello sighed as the woman yelled. โI believe that would ruin the point of impromptu magic if someone you know knew about it?โ His arms crossed before the watch that was not really at all a watch beeped aggressively at him. He tilted his head as the woman continued for a moment. โFine no more magic involving smoke while I'm here.โ More beeping. He paused before dropping his backpack and pulling out his pills. Once taken he straightened and looked at the girl that he had been talking to. โWhy not?โ He did not seem to grasp any of what could possibly be wrong with randomly talking to someone. In fact, he apparently does this a lot. Randomly talk to people...randomly do a lot of things.
Moana shook her head once more, โAuaโฆ How do you know Iโm not exactly like the blonde and you just havenโt realized that yetโฆ Why of all the people in this lobby did you decide to pop up behind me?โ
Othello slid his hands into his pockets. โBecause a rotten person has a certain rotten air about them. You lack it.โ His brow raised. โI do not know. You seemed interesting.โ He offered a smile before he paused and removed his sunglasses revealing those purple eyes of his.
Moana pursed her lips and shook her head, โYou confuse me,โ She said softly before he removed his sunglasses and stared at him for a moment, โYour eyes areโฆ purple?โ
She sighed before laughing, โWho thought inland would be this bizarre?โ
Othello kept the smile. โI confuse a lot of peopleโ He tilted his head then simply nodded when she commented on his eyes. โWell...I am not exactly someone to deal with if you want normalcy.โ He gave himself a small facepalm. โHow rude of me I havenโt introduced myself. Othelloโ He gave a bit of a bow and straightened. โAnd I do apologize for getting you caught up in my...bizzareness.โ He was a bit all over the place today. Likely being in a new environment and maybe that coffee he had on the plane.
Moana shrugged as he apologized for being odd, โHe kotuku rerenga tahi,โ She paused for a moment, deciding if she was going to translate what she had just said. Deciding against it, as it wasnโt all that important, she smiled, โDonโt worryโฆ Bizzare isnโt a bad thing. I suppose it keeps things interesting. My name is Moana.โ
Othello tilted his head as she spoke in a different language. Confusion swept through his eyes as he clearly had no idea what she just said. He blinked and returned the smile as she spoke in english. โPleasure to meet you. Now I should check out my room. I hope we cross paths once moreโ With that he moved around the people and made his way to his room where he dropped his stuff and looked out the window. Perhaps this forced trip wouldnโt be too terrible after all.
Moana nodded as Othello was suddenly off to wherever it was he had seemed to fancyโฆ he seemed like a guy who went where whims took him. When he was gone, she glanced over at the two girls from earlier and gave a sheepish smile, โI feel like I should be apologizingโฆโ
Moana Waialiki Hakaraia ~ Lake Tahoe ~ Present Day
Moana was bundled up head to toe when she and her family made their way into the large lodge. It was absolutely freezing outside, leaving her to be very thankful for the heated lobby. She slowly removed her scarf as she looked over at the man who had acted as her father for the last thirteen years, "He aha e whai tatou ki te haere vahi matao, Kauri?" She complained, her body slowly starting to feel warm again.
Kauri laughed and clapped his hand on her shoulder, "Hoki te kotiro e hiahia ana ki te kite i te ao, e kore koe e kite i te huringa"
Moana shook her head, "hiahia ana ahau ki te kite i te moana, e kore i roto i te hukarere," She couldn't help but laugh all the same though, as she stood behind Kauri, her 'mother' Roimata, and their two young children, Tama and Whetu. Her eyes gazed over the lobby, this place was beautiful... She had to give them that. Even if she wasn't a fan of having to wear seven layers just to step outside. Moana had never been inland, nor had the Hakaraia's which was the reason most likely they had chosen this place. Tama and Whetu seemed enthralled by it all, excited by the snow and new adventures, the thought of sliding down the side of a mountain on boards. Moana hadn't been as excited by the thought, she loved the ocean and didn't exactly love the idea of not being a short walk away from it... Something she knew had been true at every other moment of her life. However, she couldn't disrespect those that had brought her into their fold. The people who had cared for her so completely and entirely and insisted that she come because she was family. Even if she couldn't pay. She felt a pair of slender hands on her shoulders and looked behind herself as best she could to see, Roimata. The woman gave her a gentle squeeze, "He waka eke noa. You are meant to be here with us, Moana. I just know it."
"English?" Moana said, a little caught off guard by the switch in language. Together as a family, they often stuck to Maori. Life was easier that way, Moana understood it better as it was her first language and they could freely talk about whatever they want. Roimata laughed, "Yes, you should be speaking English here. I will be very surprised if anyone else speaks Maori."
"Ko te wai!" Moana said with a laugh, before she shook her head, "Whatever you say, Roimata."
The woman placed her hand on the girl's cheek and gave her a sad smile, which concerned Moana. Roimata always seemed to know things before everyone else, so the fact that she was giving Moana any kind of special look was reason to worry. Roimata patted Moana's cheek gently, " Haere. Ka tangohia matou o koutou peke ki te ruma ... hanga hoa. e kore ahau e hiahia ana ki te kite i huna koutou i roto i tenei moemoea ra katoa e noho ana anake ... he taitamariki koe. Ko koe ki runga ki tau faafaaearaa ... Kia ngahau taku tamahine."
Roimata released Moana's shoulders and seemed to wave her arms in the air, as if to shoo Moana off before she walked over to her husband as they gathered their bags and headed to the room. Moana stood their in the lobby, a little dumbfounded and unsure of what to do. She sighed and removed her large jacket and draped it over her arm as she walked over to the large window in the lobby and stared down at the water.
As I think Moana is the first of my characters that I will be able to play, I figured I would get her officially approved.

She has memories, faint ones, of the ocean parting allowing her to see the beauty under the waves. However, as the eldest daughter of the chief of Motunui it has and will always be her duty to follow in his footsteps. The knowledge of this has been the one thing that has prevented her from sailing away from their shore in search of another. That was until her Gramma Tala died with the old woman's last words to her, Moana ran away with only her mother's support. It was hard for Moana to choose but with the encouragement from her Gramma and the knowledge of what was hidden inside her necklace, Moana left in hopes of returning and able to give more to her people than just guidance.
However, Moana's canoe was hit by a storm, she was thrown and forced to grab madly at her boat, in hopes of staying afloat in the choppy waters. But at some point, the water was too much and dragged her under, deeper and deeper into its depth and for the first time, Moana felt as though the ocean was not her friend.
Brief Biography (Life On Earth): Moana washed up on the coast of New Zealand, where is was found by a group of tourists. Speaking no english, she was brought to the local iwi and quickly taken in. They taught her the ways of their tribe, traditions similar to her own, as well as the way of this new world. The family she found there, was not unlike her own in their ways. Her culture, although fading, existed within their own and she bonded to it. Moana embraced her time with these new people in this new land as she had no idea of which way was home and when she looked up at the stars at night, they seemed to have changed. The longer Moana stayed though, she could feel her memories fading away. In fear of forgetting her family, especially her grandmother, Moana got her tattoo to have a permanent reminder until she found her way back.
