I got money on my mind and my mind on the money that's on my mind because I got bills to pay and I can only pay it with the money that's on my mind and of course my mind is on that money.

Bio

Hi I'm Tuddums, also known as Blue. I've been RPing for quite a few years now and I reckon I'm a half decent writer by now. I like to write about violence and unsettled characters. Uh... Yeah. Bye.

@EnterTheHero There are already staff that will carry out that sort of work for the Operatives. Hector won't have to worry about showing up to missions solely so he can pilot a drone and can instead spend that time relaxing or training. Who knows, maybe he'll have a moment to shine in a mission and show off his ace piloting skills with some "borrowed" drones.
Nevermind.
M32A1 40mm Grenade Launcher
Trip Wire
Laser Trip Wire Alarm
UAV/UCAV support from higher
Parabolic Dish/Microphone (Listening)
Motion detectors
Melee weapons found in Martial arts studios. My children train in Kempo and they can use the bo staff and kamas pretty well. They have some experience in Nunchuku and some of the kids in the school are trained in the use of the Katana.

We're definitely going to be implementing a few grenade launchers, so you can expect those.
As for trip wires and laser trip wires, that sort of equipment has a setup time which could be detrimental to an operation in which you are better off moving quickly. If you have any sort of trap or sensor, it will have to be something which can be simply placed on the ground and activated.
The UAV/UCAV is something which will be generally out of the hands of the Operatives, but they will most likely serve a purpose in the missions that allow their presence.
You're in luck for a microphone which can be used to hear audio from a fair distance away. Foxhound Operatives will have a standard issue Int-scope which will end up with that same ability.
Motion detectors are a good idea and I'm sure something similar will become available at some stage.

Now, with melee weapons. I'm sure you know what I mean when I say that carrying around extra melee weapons could be more of a hindrance to someone attempting to be stealthy than a help. Ideally they will only ever need their knife or their bare hands in order to take someone down, and those can be used in almost any environment without having to worry about them bumping around. Now if you were to take such a weapon into a combat oriented mission, then the usage of specific melee weapons is more acceptable. Of course, your character would need to be of the mindset that they will actually make usage of their chosen weapon in the middle of what will most likely be a gunfight.

So I'd say that an operative sneaking around and donking guards' helmets with a bo staff isn't advisable, but if they truly wish to step into combat with it, then they can. It just comes with all the risks of using a melee weapon in an environment filled with enemies wearing body armor while carrying shotguns and rifles.

Cheers.
@The book of bad juju It's not necessarily an instant failure, it's just really hard to walk up to a guard and convince him that he should ignore the orders given to him by a considerably scarier man than you. But if you think you can get your hands on the materials required, feel free to give it a shot. It may take a lot more work to do it in such a way though, and by the time you finish researching your target and organizing your disguise, another operative could have been sent in and had the job done already.
@EnterTheHero We may never know.
@The book of bad juju Approved, buddy.
As we wait for the last few CS' to be posted I'd like to ask you all something.

You've probably noticed the limited variety in the weapons and gear, this is intentional on account of more equipment being made available as missions are completed. We have plenty of ideas as to what new and exciting gadgets and gizmos you lot are going to have at your disposal, but I'm wondering if there's anything you all would like to see become available to your Foxhound Operatives. Of course we won't be able to include all of them for various reasons but I'm curious as to what you all come up with.

Cheers.
@The Emperors Blade I think it's just because they want to get this over and done with tbh
@FantasyChic You are issued a proper code name after the first mission, don't worry about it.
