That doesn't help but thanks anyways dude 8D I also haven't actively written in a while so I hope its partially me just un-rusting these gears. After a bit of greasing I hope i'll at least have decently fun to read posts and my character won't be a shitstain to interact with. Or at least, when it comes to writing with/about him.
@HereComesTheSnow Oh I understand that completely, i think. I sometimes have trouble keeping my characters personalities and the ways of writing them separate, and certain things i do when writing characters sometimes finds its way into others. That, and as you may have noticed, my writing itself is a bit bland and lacks a certain amount of flavor and individuality. That, and sometimes i just kinda contract autism whenever i touch a keyboard and can't write for shit. Goodluck with ur character stuff man!
EDIT: Hatchan sounds like a yandere waiting to happen. If that ends up being the case, leave me out of it 8D please and thank you
@Crimmy, yoyoyoyo. I also like ur hat-chick as well.
@Snow, what do you mean? Watcha do that plagues your other characters that your avoidin with this one? And I never really did the quests, those seemed too much of a pain in the ass to get into. I just liked making characters because I always enjoy that part 8D usually more then some rps themselves is just the act of making a character for em. But maybe thats also because i tend to feel disappointed about everyone else's character sheets. Not that they are Low-quality, but sometimes i just don't like em and because I am a little shit it hurts my ability to have fun rping with most of em 8D
Wow, i only like reading them for the CYOAs. Some of those are p fun 8D Cause im a giant loser i do dnd with pals sometimes(not that i used the cyoas for that) and it always nice to have stuff to goof off with on the side. Like the yandere maker and some of the power generators are fun as shit.
I like /co/, /a/, and /vg/. Mostly because of the threads where they ask what peoples favorites/hated tropes are and other things like that. Those guys really have some personality dude. I try to browse 7ch and 8ch sometimes but those places are just weird as shit.
Also, I like the way you write your dude 8D
EDIT- ALSO /F/ is either gold or dead weight depending on how lucky you get. Unfortunately now most of the posts are just shitty amvs or renaming old flashes and tagging them as porn. Used to post some really funny shit in /f/ but now i just can't find anythin good anymore.
Months of effort were finally paying off, after everything he had suffered through and worked towards, Ali had what he wanted within his grasp. Nothing in his life before this could even compare to his current satisfaction. The spelling bee in 4th grade? The first time he managed to activate his phone magic? Nothing managed to beat the greatness of Alistairs home-cooked pancakes and bacon breakfast. If the neighbors had listened closely, they could hear him talking to himself and shouting nonsense like 'Godamn Alistair you are a kitchen Wizard' or 'Just like Mom's!' Usually Alistair wouldn't put this much effort into anything, but this was a special occasion. Unlike a sizable amount of the other students, Alistair knew about his acceptable into Hybrid Academy a nice while before they opened up. His old renegade priest-teacher had helped him get in and taught him everything he could before he was to be sent out to japan to live and learn there. Hell, without the old man he probably would never have even opened up his Rosetta stone account to learn japanese. Alistairs mind then jolted back to the present and on his breakfast, he then savored every bite of his meal and hoped the future would be as delicious as the pancakes he was shoveling down his throat.
Once breakfast was over, Alistair had dressed down into the uniforn, and had dressed the uniforn up with buttons and other dumb trinkets he had acquired over the past year. All in all, he had five different buttons on the front, one feather pinned to each of his arms, and several weapon designs sewn over the pants he was wearing. After checking to make sure he had the appropriate amount of bling necessary, he decided he was only to bring one phone to school that day. If it turns out this was going to be a mistake, chances are he wouldn't make that error again.
Ali' commute to the school was leisurely and comfortable. He walked with a kick to his step, and made sure to make eye-contact with everyone who wore the same uniform as him on the way there. While he wasn't sure if they saw him, Ali sure saw a couple strange characters on his way to the school. He was hoping that his uniform 'adjustments' would help him stick out, but some of these fools would stick out even in the godamn circus. 'Least it would mean that his classmates wouldn't be boring to be around, so he hoped. He also let out a little player in hopes that things would just play out well. As he found the school and started following the other students who looked knew, he thought back on how he never used to pray much until he met his teach' after the tablet incident.
Biography: Now, Alistair's backstory is not too long or difficult to summarize. His childhood and early life were average at worst, his family is quite wealthy and more often then not Ol' Ali would live his life in luxury. He didn't have many close friends, but he had enough hobbies and toys to keep him occupied and distracted from any form of loneliness he would feel. Plus, those friends who he did have he actually got along with quite well.
Anyhow, when he was around 12 years old, Alistair was introduced to magic in perhaps the least fun way possible. His father had taken him to a museum while travelling in Britain, and while there they came upon an exhibit of old artifacts found in Mesopotamia. The 'Dup Shimati' or the Tablets of Destinies. Alistair had gotten too close to them and had set off an alarm, security had come in to see what had happened and all-in-all it was a pretty embarrassing situation. However, during this time Alistair had gotten even closer to the tablets and thats when things started to get a little wacky. The tablets levitated in midair, and all non-organic material near them began to dissipate and disappear. Meanwhile, sand started to fall from the ceiling and the panic kicked in. No one ended up getting hurt though, due to the intervention of a conveniently placed old priest.
The priest quickly stopped the magic reactions, pulled Alistair out of there, and tried to explain everything he could too him. Telling him he is one of those who resonates with the Dup Shimati, and should take up the mantle of 'Marduk' learn to use them and keep the peace. Now, Alistair thought most of what the priest was saying was complete bologna. However, the part about magic and learning to use it sounded quite awesome to Alistair, so he accepted the priests tutelage.
A couple years have passed since then and both because of his own interests and the priests advice, Alistair was able to become a member of the Hybrid academy. Through some ingenuity and luck, he has managed to create a more 'modern' magic that allows him to draw upon the powers of the stones without them needing to even be in the same country as him. He also managed to learn enough japanese to attend the classes without much difficulty.
Personality: Alistair is courageous; some would say unnecessarily so. He never backs down from a challenge, and he will try to complete an objective until he can't feasibly try anymore. Alistair is a decent guy at heart, but also is quite greedy when he can afford to be. His love of food and trinkets is also nothing to be scoffed at, he is a fashion master . He also has the bad habit of eavesdropping on others and taking mental notes on others. He is quick to make derogatory comments towards others, and enjoys some good banter. However, even if he throws some verbal shit at his friends, he doesn't always mean it. His social abilities are often found lacking in polish, and more often then not he can make people uncomfortable when he is around.
Likes: -Accessories -Sub-sandwiches -Techno Music and most of its sub-genres -History Classes
Dislikes: -School Uniforms -Rice in any of its forms -Country Music -Mathematics
Skills: Alistair is a decent repairman and can fix most simple tools with relative ease. Alistair also has a great memory, and is a fast learner. His body is slightly better then average, but compared to most combatants he might as well be the average joe.
Magic: Rank 3 / Wizard // The Tablets of Destinies are mentioned in Mesopotamian mythology as a set of clay tablets which hold the power of creation and destruction. Alistair uses their power through a special program embedded on some of his flip-phones. And instead of using mana, Alistair is instead limited by his battery life.
Spell 'List': Alistairs greatest asset is his ability to cast an enormous amount of simple spells. Power in Versatility. However each spell has a couple of caveats that it must meet so that he can cast it... -The Spell must originate from either above or below the target. That, or it originates from where Alistair stands. -Is limited to 'low' power spells. For example he can create: a single bolt of electricity, a fireball, or a single ice-spike.
Utility and limits: As stated earlier, each spell costs battery life instead of mana. An average attack spell can costs 6-7% of his battery life, and he can cast spells at up to three targets per 'action'. Now, his phone can also cast spells that help heal/fix people and items, at costs of battery percentages reaching 11%. Due to his phone's magical functions, it can also feed off of Alistairs natural mana to recover battery, but it can only recover 3% of its battery per post, and only if no spells are cast during this time. It can reach 7% recharge rate if he doesn't attack for multiple turns.
Overcharge: Alistair can also over-charge spells on his phone by doubling the battery cost for each spell. So fireballs can become more devastating but can cost 12-14% of his battery life per cast. He can compound this effect to where it could reach up to 98% of his battery.
Noncombative: Things such as creating small flames, a strong breeze, and other effects can cost his phone around 2-3% per spell
Actual List: Ignis- Produces a flame from the area around Alistair. Depending on the Battery% put into it, it can range from a small flame protruding from Alistair's palm to a massive fireball. Glacies - Creates Ice. Depending on % it can range from freezing a small item to large ice-spikes rupturing from the ground. Terra - Manipulates Earth. Can alter/throw terrain. Low % attacks can be high-velocity rocks being thrown about, while higher level casts can be large boulders being thrown from areas around where Alistair stands. Fulgur - Electricity manipulation. Can go from small sparks to a powerful lightning bolt. Aeris - Wind Alteration. Can range from a strong breeze to mini-storms. Sana - 'Heal'. Can range from fixing cuts to mending broken bones.
Extras:Even if Alistair learns to use the Dup Shimati to their utmost potential, they are still much, much, much less powerful then the legends described them as. Despite his love of accessories and trinkets, he never adds any to the phones he uses to utilize the Dup Shimati. He only carries one phone on a regular basis, and maybe a second only if he knows the day is going to be a pain. Although the artifact is Mesopotamian, the language used in the phone's coding is latin.
Sorry for constantly editing, but I need to find the perfect theme 8D
