That's not really suspicion then, that's common sense. Loyal to a fault would mean he'd stick around with a bad leader long after it would be in his best interests to leave.
If he has a history of going rogue and can't follow orders, Natalia isn't likely to keep him around. She can't afford to have a merc who is going to go off on his own under her command simply because he's suspicious of her.
Could you elaborate on how him being suspicious is loyalty?

As for the pistol, .45 caliber is actually a fairly common pistol caliber, used in a number of handguns, something that would get the idea you're looking for would be something like a .60 caliber, which would absolutely have too much recoil for a human.

"Negative, Tiger Six, the local forces will not be assisting us today. You're on your own out there."

Welcome! you just missed the first drop, but there's always room!

A few issues with the profile that I'd like to see addressed:

He's very old for a Bespanite, in fact, he'd be considered elderly and near the end of his life. A mercenary company would not risk losing valuable Mechs by sending someone so near the end of their life into battle.

.41 isn't that large a caliber, in fact, it's actually smaller than a .44 caliber commonly used in large revolvers today. This isn't really an issue but seems like the opposite of what you were aiming for, so I wanted to mention it.

That cloaking device is wildly overpowered, a cloaking device like that would not be able to mask thermal, radar, and sonar. not that sonar would really be used since it's almost exclusive to underwater vehicles but the point stands. Nix the thermal, radar, and sonar blocking and it's fine.

He has so many skills, and so proficient in all of them, I'll need you to either tone down his proficiencies in those skills, or limit his expert-level abilities to one or two things.

How is he loyal to a fault, and yet always questioning his leader's moves? These aspects kind of clash with each other.

Bio is pretty good but could use something about what led him to the Lightning Tigers specifically.

As for the mech, things look good, though it does seem a little under gunned. You could throw an extra light weapon or two on there if you'd like.
Static crackled over the comms once more, and the relaxed voice of the pilots came through, "Breaking atmo, standby."

The rode went from uneventfully smooth to quite rough very quickly, and the roar inside the shuttles grew, if possible, even louder. The Mech pilots would feel their stomachs turn as they went from acceleration of the ship, to the gravity assisted drop to the planet.

Once through the atmosphere, the pilots all quite quickly unhooked harnesses, and filed back into holding bays, their mechs hanging securely from the ceiling. Once inside, they each began their start up sequences for the immense machines.

"One minute to drop point."

Fusion reactors fired up, bringing tiny stars to life deep within the armored chassis of the various Mechs, breathing life into the artificial muscles of the immense machines.

"30 seconds."

Sensors and weapons came online next, and as the various HUDs came up in front of each pilot, immense doors opened below each mech, allowing fresh, swampy air to rush into the space.

"10 seconds"

Finally, it was time. The end of the airstrip, a dull grey permacrete surface, rose to meet the machines as they were released from their berths, impacting the ground with force enough to shake the earth. Brown and green stretched as far as the eye could see, trees that reached to a mech's chest sprouting from the murky swamps that covered the planet.

Audible even over the Mechs engines was the unending drone of insects and animals all clawing for survival in the muck.

"I have one, actually," She stood up a bit straighter, "Should Samus do her whole.....Samus thing, and we can't catch her, should we be aiming to bring in biological material from her at least? Blood samples and the like?" She paused, "If she has those Metroid cells in her and all, even that should prove useful, right?"

Static crackled over the comms as the telltale sound of the shuttle's engines began to whine to life. "To answer your earlier questions, Ms. Winters, we've been given full authority to destroy the mechs. Which also means we get all the salvage from this job, so try not to bust up our new toys too much down there."

There was a brief pause, during which time the whining became a dull roar, and each pilot's helmets would begin to cancel the sound out, protecting the hearing of each pilot.

"As for why we're doing this, I very much suspect the government doesn't want to have their own mechs on the line for the first contact. Should we fail, they will, of course, be stepping in and mopping up." Natalia's tone made it clear she was none too pleased about that fact.

There was an immense clanking sound, and the shuttles seemed to drop slightly at the nose before an incredible acceleration kicked in. Each shuttle was launched out of the Argonaut by huge launching catapults, like those on aircraft carriers.
Kathrine Vale-

"She's done a lot of work for the Federation before, though, it's odd that Samus would just up and disappear with a job unfinished, isn't it?" Kat spoke up once more. "I mean, everything I've ever heard about her speaks to a woman who doesn't do things in half measures."

She perked up a bit, her stance getting a little less relaxed.

"You'll know as soon as I do, Ms. Winters."

With a crisp turn, the commander exited the room, likely headed for Communications.
