Robert retrieved a Chocolate Brownie flavored Clif Bar from his bag. He opened the package and held the organic snack between his teeth while continuing to look through his bag. He grabbed a bottle of Petrus Aged Pale. Robert leaned against his bed. " Ah, I see. Well, I guess there's no point in me offering you any weed or X and you probably won't be taking any smoke breaks with me. That's cool. I can respect that." He took a bite from the energy bar and chewed it. " Yeah it's about lunch time and this won't hold me very long." Robert opened the beer and took a swig " You think they'll serve us lunch? Or you think they'll make us fend for ourselves? God, I hope the person in charge isn't a hardass," he said as he sipped the beer.
Terry finished his milk and then said, " Well no one will really know until the first round of cuts. Of course this may be the kind of place where everyone stays but I doubt it. I've been wrong before but this seems like the place where..." He trailed off for a bit and the continued, " There will be those who won't be good enough to stay, those who won't like it enough to stay, and those who will be too radical or uncontrollable to stay. All three of those types will be gone soon or later but only the last category will be those to keep an eye on. Honestly, if you are too much for H.I.V.E., then your probably someone to watch out for. The other two types who will be gone are really worth noticing. After the cuts everyone remaining will be someone to watch out for." Terry stood, " For now, it's probably a bit too early to tell unless you have a really good eye. What do you think? How good are your eyes?"
"Yeah, yeah. Take your time. I'll just chill and I guess sort of unpack and junk." Robert walked over to his bag and began digging around for some of the food he had packed. "I'm starving. Do you have the time? You want a Cliff bar or something? A beer? Do you drink?" He knelt in front of the bag and continued to look around while humming.
With a bored look on his face, Terry listened to the speedster reply. Terry knew that speedsters were pretty powerful but he didn’t think that the kid’s overconfidence was totally earned. Terry figured if anyone here had all the answers then they wouldn’t be here. He didn’t reply and just listened as the speedster talked to shadow girl. He made a mental note when Mach 1 was mentioned but otherwise just listened and studied their body language and facial expressions.

Terry felt that Shadow’s girl reply was of a similar nature, a sort of nonchalance in the face of possibly limitless future danger. Although she seemed a bit more nervous, Terry wondered if the pair were oblivious to threats, didn’t care, or something else entirely. He did note that Shadow girl’s name was Violet Turner and her alias was Shadow.

Terry got the private vibe from the two well before the speedster said anything but had decided to exhaust their hospitality before he slinked away. Terry remembered that the speedster’s name was Vector as soon as the kid said it again. He had said it once before when he had zoomed into the auditorium earlier. Terry even remembered that Mammoth had jokingly called the kid ‘Vasectomy’. Terry decided he would have less forgetful in the future as he slid away from the couple.

He moved away far enough so that they would feel he was gone but he remained close enough that he could hear what they were saying. The pair seemed interesting to him but he turned away from them and continued to scan the cafeteria while he listened to the remainder of their conversation. After they took off, Terry noted that they had a lot of fun, almost like younger kids.

Terry noticed another kid approach and wondered with the new interaction would bring. Terry attempted to memorize the new guy’s face, voice, name, and alias. Terry shook hands with Synthesis. “Yes. Quite. You can call me, Brass.” Terry spoke in a neural tone. He would release James’s hand and sip his milk again.
“Which is exactly why you shouldn’t discuss your powers so openly in the cafeteria,” said Terry walking over to the couple while eyeing the large pile of food that was near them. “Potential mortal enemies might be listening and plotting to use your weakness against you. Of course, in all fairness to you, speedy, I’m pretty sure someone published an encyclopedia on speedsters and their powers. So, I guess anyone could look you up, assuming the book was actually published and that it is in the Academy library. Then, it would be a matter of trying to determine how much of the speed force you have access to…” He paused to look up and began to consider this himself.

Terry was probably a strange sight. The jacket and pants he was currently wearing were covered in pockets and resembled a black Nomex flight suit that had been made as two pieces instead of one. While those fit perfectly, the bronze colored t-shirt that he wore underneath was being strained by his considerable musculature. In addition, his dark hair hadn’t been cut in while and the locks reached half-way down his neck. Although, his hair was quite clean, it looked very unkempt. He had stuck to the shadows so far and was pretty sure that no one had noticed him up until this point.

He was about to leave the cafeteria when Terry overheard the conversation. It seemed like the couple were well-meaning but had made a tactical error in discussing their abilities in such a public place. Terry hadn’t completely let his guard down, for this place was still new and he understood very well that things were not always what they seemed. Still, he had decided to approach the two and offer some advice that he knew very well could be overly paranoid. He always figured it was better to be too paranoid than too relaxed and unaware.

Terry also figured now wasn’t a bad time to try to make allies. He knew alliances would be important in the coming weeks and months. He reasoned that it would be wiser to try to find allies after he had more information and knew more or less what everyone else could do but realized he had to start somewhere. So here he was. He sat down across from the pair, took a sip of his milk, and asked “Room for one more?”
"So now that that's taken care..." Robert trailed and looked Bay "Are you allergic to aspirin? I didn't consider that before so I'm hoping that you consider that you know before taking the aspirin that I may have mistakenly offered. Either way, perhaps you should take it easy for a while. You need any help? You want me to get you anything?"
He can be harmed in his charged state. He can be harmed by large caliber guns, explosives, missiles, etc. He can be harmed by people like Mammoth. He is completely vulnerable to magic and psychic users.

I wasn't able to find much on RedStar but I did come up with this.

If he receives a large influx of power it would be quite painful and he would be rendered unconscious until his body had a chance to process it. If he was fully charged and continued to take in energy, he would have to convert it and quickly expel it or risk falling in to a coma and “detonating” after about two weeks if the energy is not expelled.

I also was toying with some other ideas. I'm trying to make sure he's not overpowered while still making him useful to the Titans but this process is helping me get out the kinks.
"Oh sorry" Robert said softly. He stepped towards Bay. "Are you O.K.? Did I overload you? Sorry, I got carried away. I didn't think that someone's abilities might hurt them. Mine just leaves me kind of exhausted but as I said it seems to be getting better. How are your headaches? Are they always the same? Here, let me grab you some aspirin." Robert walked over to his bag and retrieved a bottle of generic aspirin. He also grabbed a plastic water bottle. He carried them over to Bay. " Here, good ole acetylsalicylic acid? Will fix you right up. At least, I think aspirin is acetylsalicylic acid. I should remember this but I don't. Oh and try to recycle that bottle when your done. I wonder if there are recycling bins around here." Robert caught himself as he offered the supplies to Bay. "I'm blathering again, aren't I?"
"Woah, I don't think you're supposed to be up there!" Robert exclaimed. After a beat, he put it together. "Double woah! Can everyone else do stuff like this too?" He replied mentally. "This is totally cool!" He said switching back to words, talking a mile a minute. He spun around, realizing that he was not alone in his ability. "I always thought I was the only one. This is great! So that's why we got invited here. But how did someone find out? I never told anyone." He began to pace rapidly. “Oh, I can teleport by the way. Short-range teleportation, that is. I'm not a Jumper or anything. I can't go anywhere in the world instantly. The furthest I can go is a little over 3 miles and its hella exhausting but it's been getting easier. It's so strange."

"How does your power work? Wenn ich denke in Deutsch können Sie übersetzen?" he thought. "Or does it not work like that? Do you have to try? Are you reading everyone's minds all the time? Can you know stuff that I don't as long as it's trapped somewhere in my head? If I heard a song but could only remember part of it, could you dig the rest of the lyrics out of the back of my head? Would something like that be painful for either of us?" Switching back to thoughts, Robert continued"If I think back to Valentine's Day, can you smell Molli Fallon just because I remember the way she smelled? Can you like link people up through thought? Like a mental conference? What about pictures? If I think of naked people, can you see the naked people? Can you see yourself through my eyes? " Robert stopped pacing, realizing had been talking and moving very quickly and loudly every since he realized what was going on, " So many questions, so many possibilities. Sorry, I just got a bit carried away. I'm usually a blatherer anyway but now there are people with superpowers!"
Terry eventually found himself in the cafeteria. He looked around, obtained as much whole milk as he could carry, and went to an empty table near a window. He sat down and sipped the cool beverage as he surveyed the other students. He drummed his fingers on the the table and wondered what this school would be like.
