I know at least one character on the roster was meant to lose, depending on how the first round goes. However, I'll need to do some editing to the bracket since Zagan is rejoining us and we have at least two more CSes coming in. If anybody else would like to double up, now's the time to get ready for that. Just remember that this closes if and when we max out at 16 total competitors.
I didn't even see this here :O

I'll get started on CSes momentarily. Will probably end up making one of each to be used with each other.
Glad we've straightened everything out. I see the same problem in YGO RPs, though rest assured I'm putting more effort into balancing things than other GMs have.

I've already PM'd Zagan inquiring whether he'd like to return, though I've yet to get a reply. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to that CS :) in the event that VarionusNW has in fact left us, I probably will end up re-writing the bracket. Which would mean editing my IC post.
Today is really not my lucky day
"Didn't I say we should take the monorail?"

"Quiet, tattoo-boy," Alex seethed, obviously irritated that she missed the opening speech to the tournament. The audience was already entering from the side doors, the competitors going in through the front. Even though she didn't want to admit it, her spirit partner - Bountr Kenshin - was right. She should have taken the monorail. Somehow, he was always right. That was arguably her least favorite thing about him being around all the time, especially when other people couldn't see him being right about stuff. They generally got along though, if only out of necessity. Taking a look over the monsters that made up her deck - the Bountr archetype that was pretty much hit-or-miss each turn - she wondered who would be the first person to get a taste of their strength. She hoped it was some thug from Obsidian District. There always seemed to be plenty of those guys, somehow.
She was DuelBot Unit AI-1C3. However, for tournament purposes, she was Alice Seethree, an otherwise-ordinary resident of the Quartz District. The story was simple, and Alice's programmers had advised her to stick to it. They told her to think of it as a test of guile, which was something she was alright with. They also advised her to not disassemble any electronic devices she may be curious about. Especially the Duel Disk a tournament staff member was handing her. She disliked not being able to find out just how it operated on the inside. For now, all she could do was load up the memories of her deck and review just what can operate with what. Serene Psychic Witch can be used to search out Esper Girl, who can then synchro with Hushed Psychic Cleric (after using his effect, of course) to summon Magical Android. If the cleric banishes a Mental Seeker, it can synchro with the android for Thought Ruler Archfiend. Alice understood just how the second-place winner of last year's G-Clock Open got his position now. The combos were everywhere.
"Attention duelists," Gero's voice rang out through the speakers throughout the stadium; the speakers that always stood at the sides of large screens on the walls. "My staff and I have resolved the glitch in the system, and the tournament bracket is now fixed and ready for use." The otherwise-blank screens all lit up, revealing the bracket of sixteen competitors. "The first duel will now begin. Ian Rouse and Alexander Nyne, please report to the dueling stage in the center of the stadium. Best of luck to both of you." With a brief second of static, the speakers went silent. The G-Clock Open was now officially beginning, and by association all the wonders and drama that are associated with such things as tournaments.
For the umpteenth time, we're trusting that players will make fair, reasonable draws. I'd say once every two or three duels, you can have that perfect "heart of the cards" moment where you draw precisely what you need to turn things around (let's keep it interesting, y'know?) but for the most part try not to intentionally give yourself especially powerful hands.

For instance, I can't have Alex start with a powerful combo involving Bountrs Grim, Kenshin, and Bushin. It's a nice combo, but a bit much to start the duel off.

EDIT: Or an RNG if you don't trust yourself as much as I do, that works too.
Right after I post up the bracket, too. Today's just not my day =.=;

But sure, welcome aboard. Post up a CS or two, and we'll take things from there. I'm not editing that bracket, though >:| just editing in text below it on who you'll be dueling.
...

WELL. In other news, the tournament bracket is now underway! Of course, now I have to start from scratch because SOMEBODY caused one of our RPers to drop out. If you're not joining us, Matt, now would be the time to say precisely that.

EDIT: We now have a bracket. I'll also add this to the main post in the IC for quick reference. I'll get on a post so that we can get this started.
I'd go with what Roxas says here. Try to limit the extra deck (I suddenly feel like an ass over making all those Bountr synchros) and not have a toolbox.

I see Matt in almost every YGO RP I create/sign up for, and while I agree that addressing the meta is a challenge few GMs - if any - have managed to step up to, I specifically said the first rule is to have fun. If it starts ruining everybody else's fun, then definitely change it. Until then, do as you were doing.

As for you, Matt, if you'd like to join then feel free. If you're just here to talk about meta decks and how everybody seems to use them here, you've come to the wrong thread for that. I've already addressed my case on the matter.
Well, unless things in regard to home internet are going as I'm guessing, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see it :P
My time here appears to be up, so I'll possibly see y'all tomorrow, or later today if I'm lucky.

EDIT: The main post was updated; everybody up to this point was accepted unless we specifically stated otherwise.
By all means :)
I'll update the main post again with all accepted characters up to now. I'm also going to get started on a bracket (the reason for the glitch IC was it's not ready OOC :P)
