Bio: Mr Richardson, the hero of the siege of Utrecht where he climbed the loft ramparts to save the day. he is and was a hero of some repute, but this wanst always the way of the world. Richardson was born the eldest of a sister and a brother. His family were minor nobles, an old family that had many connections but very little in the way of funds. As a result they future the family held in the balance, they spent a large amount to invest in him a commission of cornet in the royal dragoons. A noble regiment but not the most prestigious, by no means a commission with the Highlanders or Horse Guard. On the way over to the enemy territory he led his men on a excursion to assist the marines to capture a enemy ship awarding him a medal for bravery named of the Order of Saint Roland, one of the highest awards for bravery. When he did arrive he made sure to gather up his men, to marshal them. getting a merchants horse that he named Charger, a real war horse. He found his sergeant, a Corporal of whom was in country before but of whomes regiment was separated when their NCO's and officer died. After marshalling his forces he was sent into eront Forrest where he acted in a patrol where he helped to drive away the guerrillas, given the wounds that his regiment sustained he was put into reserve where his men rested, when they were needed they provided much needed support to a outpost of Flur De Lee pike men of whom had ran out of ammo on their pistols and were running out of food as the enemy forces closed in. Upon arrival he assisted with his men, driving them out. These earned him a medal for leadership as he had to marshal the troops to fight a much larger force.

After finishing up, he requested a promotion to Lieutenant, upon receiving this he was shipped off to the front so that new recruits could come in and replace them. When he was sent to the front line he worked much the same as before, running skirmishes through the Forrest. He did this amebdley and even found a musketoon in a captured enemy arms cache that he carried everywhere with him. However, his real test was when he received a summons to take part in a pitched battle. This battle happened in a place they called Ten Fields. On paper? The battle should have been easily won, after all, the country's army had better troops, much better drill and even better officers, however, their foes had more men and brilliant horses. Richardson never got to see a direct combat situation as he was assigned to hold the rear flank, had that dropped the infantry could be flanked from the rear. As a result he spent the battle with his men in a fortified position. When everything started to go wrong and the infantry was routeing, he stayed there unknowing about what was happening, until he saw the footfalls charging form the enemy lines towards him. The Lancers had arrived and they wanted the flank. Him and his men fought till the end, every wave they stood their ground. They lost their ammo after the second charge the lancers made. Not to be detered they staye dtheir ground and beat them off with their muskets, bayonets and sabres. When the dust had settled, many of his men had been wounded, killed or scared in some way, but the day was won. he held the line and prevented untold casualties.

Now he stands in a different place, in the same area, commanding a captains commission in the dragoons.
Is this napolionic wars in the way of only the nobles por wealthy can get commisions?
