1. Star Wars, come on who doesn't love it?
2. DC comics, if you couldn't already tell.
3. Game of Thrones, more recent than the other two but still awesome!
4. Mass Effect, best video game franchise OF ALL TIME!!!

*Ahem* Y'all need a Superman?
Do you know that feeling when you know exactly what is that you want to write (in this case, my character's background), but you just can't get the words to come out right and even though the idea sounds awesome in your head, it looks ridiculous in text and you rewrite it a billion times and it just gets more and more stupid-sounding?
I've got that problem right now.

Oh man, those religions. You don't even know. Writer's block is currently killing me there.
@Mortarion@Trigani I think I'll go with Halo, it just seems like it would be easier to make a gritty war story. Don't get me wrong, I love Mass Effect but the reaper war wasn't actually that long in canon (not that I'm aware of).

If you are interested I think the Halo RP would start in the early years of the Human-Covenant War. Like 2529 during the Harvest campaign.

I was Thinking more along the lines of regular marines. Something smaller scale would probably work though. Maybe instead of taking control of an entire brigade (legion) like we did in this we could do a single company. That would be much smaller scale but still allow us to control a military unit. It would be much more character oriented and players would control 4-5 character squads instead of battalions of troopers.

Thoughts?
I think I'm going to go ahead and call this one dead. I might start this up again in a few months when the Star Wars RPs around the site die down because the star wars players are all being divided up among a dozen RPs. I might make something similar to this but set in the Halo universe if anyone would be interested in that...
I'd like to declare my interest if this RP is still alive.

Welcome aboard. Go ahead and write up a sheet. My schedule looks like it'll start freeing up a little bit tomorrow so maybe we'll get progress going then. I really need to finish those religions...
Nope nope, we are still here I just had to take care of real life. Sorry for not checking in, I tend to do that when life comes in. Terribly sorry, not sure when I'll get everything started but we are still alive.

@Vandy Don't worry 'bout it. I'm pretty used to it by now. I've been roleplaying for... well, more than a decade and most of the people I roleplay with are from across the Atlantic so it happens a lot. I'm in GMT+1 - in Denmark.

I'll go in thinking mode about the calenders and currency, but I'll make my character sheet my first (RP) priority (obviously, life comes first).

That's great, I'm looking forward to what you come up with.

Heads up guys, the plan is to get everything started Monday if possible.
@The Mad Hatter
Yeah I was just going to use real world time measurements for minutes/hours and such. Same for days and months unless y'all want to give them special names and such. (Which I would actually rather but I am having a hard time thinking of names for the months and days) I also want there to be at least a few different forms of currency and don't want to use dollars/pounds/euros in our fantasy world. Like the days and such though, naming is hard for currency.

Actually I think I'll open those two topics up for suggestions. If anyone has any ideas for calendars or currency post them here and we can have a vote. Actually if anyone has any ideas for the world at all (anything from knightly orders to alcoholic beverages or games) feel free to post them. I've been worried about larger scale things such as kingdoms and religions but the world needs some flavor added to it as well.

Also, mad hatter, sorry for taking so long to answer you. I think we're in opposite time zones.
