Nerdy things that I love in order of importance

1. Star Wars, come on who doesn't love it?
2. DC comics, if you couldn't already tell.
3. Game of Thrones, more recent than the other two but still awesome!
4. Mass Effect, best video game franchise OF ALL TIME!!!

@Vandy I always found their incessant need to have her in a miniskirt and crop top annoying.

For more reasons than the obvious of them using it for male audiences. I mean surely it's as impractical as anything.

Nonsense! It allows for... um... freedom of movement. Just think how comfortable she is!
@Vandy I think it's probably because I find the character to be completely redundant. I'm sure there's a coherent and compelling argument for why she's not (which Eddie is typing up furiously) but I've never felt she brings anything particularly necessary to the Superman mythos.

Hmm, that's fair I suppose. I might not agree but I can definitely see where you are coming from on this one.

Well, they're separate universes, so it's gonna be a one-time crossover between their Earths.

EDIT: @Vandy I can't help throwing shade. I'm like Cloak that way. Although you can't deny that it is a better Super-family offering. After all, MoS' Kara died in a prequel comic, so we're not gonna see her anytime soon.

*rolls eyes* Okay, okay. I'll agree with you on a technical level.

I don't think I've ever been as disinterested in any character as much as I am in Supergirl.

Every single adaptation of the character has left me completely cold.

Really? I've always liked Kara. She's never been one of my favorite characters by any means but I don't dislike her. Any particular reason?

The first episode is... rough. Things start slowly trending upwards after that. It has its cringe from time to time, but it's a far better Super-family offering than we're getting in theaters.

*Ahem* Let's avoid having that conversation again. I did enjoy MoS.
@Vandy isn't he? I find him hilarious.

Bad Sep, *hits with rolled up newspaper* bad.

All this talk of priests and chaplains and I'm sat here like:

Private school in Louisiana man. Priests are everywhere!

It's a sad world where Supergirl's Maxwell Lord is a better Lex Luthor than the one we're getting on the big screen. (Not to disparage Supergirl, either. It's turned out to be a pleasant surprise among DC's live action offerings.)

Don't make me sad, I still want to give him the benefit of the doubt. I hope I don't end up having to explain how he isn't Lex Luthor to all of my non-comic reading friends.
That moment when in chapel at your Christian school the teacher talks about justice and absolutely nails Superman's essence while simultaneously getting Batman and Iron Man's so completely and utterly wrong.

Gah.

Oh man, I had an argument with the priest at my school today when he said that Jesse Eisenberg was a good casting for Lex because he could be more of a comical relief character like he is in the comics. I nearly lost my shit, Lex Luthor is not a comic relief character, father. He is not. Ever.

Quiet you! I am talking in this Universe. Don't change the subject.

K
Lex Luthor everybody. Copying Tony Starks Suit, building a techno-skyscraper like the Fantastic Four/Tony Stark, being Lawfully Evil like Doctor Doom.

Is there any originality? Luthor is obviously just one big copycat.

Says the Marvel fan. Didn't they copy, well almost everything from DC to make their characters? Lex had tall building before Tony and the Fantastic Four even existed!

Searching for Justice League is cheating :P

Though I'll leave it to a vote.

Pffft. Cheating is relative.

I'm not a huge fan of Morrison.

Charles Soule is great and Jason Aaron's independent work is even better than his work for Marvel. Everyone check out Southern Bastards if you haven't already. I think the nearest to a "favourite" writer I have is Mark Waid. And the closest I have to a least favourite writer is definitely Bendis. I cannot stand him, the way he writes, or the fact Marvel force him onto every single big title.

Southern Bastards is amazing. That, Saga, and the Walking Dead are the only comics I read that aren't "mainstream."
Hey @Sep, does this work?
