History of Characters

Please note that this is really for my own purpose of nostalgia, to see my progress in character development and to cringe at my own creations. Feel free to cringe with me if you like.

Sadly I've deleted some of my character profiles due to withdrawing from rps and forgetting to record them. So I had more characters than what's shown here. These characters are sorted by date.

If you've noticed how all my character's names start with a 'K', then you certainly are an observant one. This is because 'K' is my favourite letter and also corresponds with my favourite number.

I'll make a better way to understand it haha. "This was nearly a month ago" explains that the previous paragraphs were part of a prologue to the current events that lead up Kailod making his way to the mansion now. It's still the current time, the guys are at the meeting with Lily etc. Think it of it as a flashback that explained the lead up to the current point.

Also might I add, I really love your character's personality. You put so much detail to explain the kind of person he is, I really like that, heheh.
Gotta love my long intros. That's just the intro though, don't worry, my posts won't be near as long as that through the whole way.
Lights off, a light drizzle of rain outside pattering against the window. Sitting alone inside his dark quiet apartment, the only dim light coming from the window's showcase of a gloomy afternoon, was Kailod. Snuggled in a cozy chair cross-legged and reading a book about photosynthesis. It had been a while since he felt so comfortable in quiet solitude, enjoying his own company, a calm rainy day giving him the excuse to stay inside and read. A glance at the clock... '6:42 already?... guess I've been reading for too long.'. *thump* He closed the book in his hands placing it on the coffee table in front of him and stood up from the chair, the floor quietly creaking in response as he walked over to his laptop laid out on his desk by the window.

He checked the weather for tomorrow. 'Sunny' it read with bold yellow font, a small frown falling across his features. It's not that he hated sunny days, he loved them as a matter fact, it just so happened the next day there was going to be a small sporting event going on. Why did it matter? Well unfortunately it's going to be going on just across the street from his apartment, the sound of children screaming and laughing will be grating at his ears all day. A sigh rang out 'I was hoping it would rain again tomorrow so it would be cancelled. I guess I'll just be at the park all day.' he looked over to the bottle of sunscreen he had on his desk. Sure SPF 100 wasn't that much different than 60, but it sure as hell felt like one. Picking it up he immediately froze. Empty. '....I'm gonna die...'

With a groan he tossed it behind him without looking, into the trash can... then turned around to see if he got it in, a feeling of internal triumph after seeing he nailed it. He faced back to his laptop and checked the news next. A name immediately caught his eye in one of the article titles. 'Doctor Peter Whitney, Scientist Extraordinaire Now Dead' He knew the name from some where but couldn't remember where, then it hit him. He stood up like lightning and slammed his laptop closed, the chair falling to the floor with a thump. He stood still, hands gripping the edge of his desk as he recalled the man from several years ago. Those nights of terror, that smile of false security. He grimaced. Those experiments. He bowed his head, closing his eyes and quelled the fear he could feel slowly wrapping around his heart. With a deep breath he calmed down, pulled his chair back up and opened his laptop. He sat down reading through the article. 'Adopted daughter, Lily Whitney has stated the mansion is still open to her father's past volunteers.' Kailod's face grimaced in disgust. He closed the laptop and stood up, walking over to sit down in his more comfortable reading chair, the drizzling rain outside had ceased. The article gave him thought. 'Volunteers? It didn't feel like I was volunteering to anything back then... and the mansion has been open ever since? Why would... ah... it doesn't matter.' It was certainly something out of the blue and he wondered if going back would give him answers to questions he's tried to forget long ago. He pondered for what seemed like hours before ultimately deciding it wasn't worth it. "That place sickens me to the core. As if I'd EVER return to that twisted place for ANY reason whatsoever."

That was nearly a month ago.
------------
Current Time

Trudging through sleepiness, Kailod wrapped his coat around him tighter as he exited a taxi. 'Why am I doing this?...' He checked his Iphone for the map he pulled up. 'Still a ways...' He sighed. The wind felt chilly today, but that could be just him as always. He misses his warm apartment already where he could just crank up the heat and read his beloved books. It took him weeks to finally convince himself to go to the mansion. 'I just have to know why. Why was I experimented on? Why were there several others he adopted? Why was the place opened for previous volunteers when he should've known eventually one of the children he seemingly terrorized might return?.... I just gotta know why...' he continued walking in the direction of the mansion, not in view yet. Forcing back the small prickling of dread he felt with every step closer to his destination he took.

Appearance: 5'9, slim with lean muscle. Black hair, grey eyes, naturally pale skin.

Name: Kailod Trouvin|(Kye-lawd) (Trow-vin)

Age: 19

Power: Sensory Illusion (Can manipulate what people see, taste, smell, feel, hear) and Venomous bite (An odd physical result from the experimentation in addition to his base power)

Strengths: Amazing ability to focus consistently (This helps him manipulate the senses of multiple people at a time), incredible visual memory (In a memory he can recall almost every little physical detail as if he was watching a video of his past), near perfect retaining of sensory information (If he recalls on a certain memory, he can remember what the temperature felt like, what he smelled, what he saw, what he could feel)

Weaknesses: His retaining of sensory info and visual memory is severely limited by what he remembers (He has the normal memory of an average human and can't remember every little thing, but what he does remember is in great detail), his ability of Sensory Illusion is based entirely on his will and control (Amazing focus helps with this power, but he can easily lose control of it. For example if he's afraid the hallucinations will turn against him and doesn't regain his composure quick, then he will begin to hallucinate things that terrify him, or his mind will basically go against him thus causing his power to go against him as well.), had a depressing childhood and traumatic experiences (This has the potential to trigger uncontrollable emotions which will greatly affect his ability to control his power.)

Extra: Always wears a coat since he easily gets cold. Enjoys playing chess and card games against himself. Often times seems like a loner. Favourite thing to do is read nonfiction books.

Bio (You know these can get very long since I seldom get a chance to be super creative.)

@KatherinWinter
Question, how long ago was it in the story that Dr Whitney died?
@KatherinWinterSooo, accepted? ;v;
@KatherinWinter No. He has a regular memory like any human being, it's just his memories are very vivid and detailed when he recalls back on them. Like when his dad died, that's something any human would have remembered but he remembers every little detail, the smell of the paint in the room and the wood, how cold the room felt, etc. Does that make sense? The memories themselves aren't very triggering unless he completely indulges himself in them, and he prefers to forget about the past so he doesn't dwell on them.

I may of course add things over time as the character grows.
@KatherinWinter I'm gonna write them out clear as day, no worries. I'll place them here when I have them done, shouldn't take too long. It'll part of the age, name, section.
@KatherinWinter Forgot to add the side effects he dealt with. Kailod would see hallucinations according to what he thought, he was afraid of the Doc so he would often see him as a grotesque creature. This made it difficult for him to settle down during experiments and to keep him from trying to escape from the Doc every time he saw him. Mind you he was 14, I should write down in his bio that among a venomous bite, the doctor may have deducted his given ability as sensory manipulation in his papers (so as to explain his current ability to control it instead of being afraid of it), but it was yet to be 100% confirmed since Kailod had grown TOO fearful to properly follow commands at the time. It was then that the Doc adopted him out, but had placed him in a completely different orphanage to avoid suspicion from the previous one. I'll rework that into the bio. I'll also write up his disadvantages/weaknesses
