The Church's Hierarchy

Dazyl

Arden

Maidin

Eva Countryside

The Southern Wilds

To be added..

Peace has lasted between Atma and Eva for five years.

The two hundred Atman citizens who were swallowed up by the church have finally been spat back out into society, seemingly a success of indoctrination of the northern heretics. Empress Joan’s reach has finally spilled into the eastern sea out to the nameless islands. With trade now commonly active between the two countries hostilities are starting to spark, and suddenly figures behind the curtains begin moving their game pieces.

The Church’s research has finally discovered something useful in their research of the pillars. Shards harvested from each of the structures long ago have been experimented on beneath the spiral labyrinths of the Grand Cathedral. Each shard is dense and radiant to the brim with magic, so much so that it overwhelms those with even the most minuscule talent for magic. Luckily the numerous priests across the county have been watching and documenting the talents within Eva. With that knowledge they specifically have handpicked seven talented individuals with no affinity for magic whatsoever.

His name is starting to sound less edgy and more ironic.

Hoi’s kicks were truly something to marvel at, and unfortunately Emri couldn’t watch the horned rabbit get launched into orbit from his hunting partner’s devastating attack. Something else took precedence at the moment and that was the prey they had engaged. Hoi’s focus was spent on two of the leading rabbits that foolishly ran in his direction, and it was safe to say that they would likely be taken care of. And even if they weren’t, Hoi could take a hit.

There was an odd amount in this litter of horned rabbits, and Emri knew the likelihood of getting them all was minimal. So how would he go about taking out one, or if he was lucky maybe even two of them? The larger one would take the most effort for him. There was also the chance that the rabbits all attacked him at once with those sharp horns. But something gave him a hunch that they would sort of just, roll over and die? They were similar to the slimes before in that, maybe the goblins weren’t at such a disadvantage.

So Emri tunneled his sights on the larger horned rabbit at the rear who had now stood his ground, and the other two who were frantically looking for a route of escape. The small bodied goblin kicked mud forward at the larger rabbit, whether that was to taunt the monster into combat or momentarily distract it was yet to to be seen. Immediately after his advance began, pressing his step hard into the ground and breathing in before shouting once again.

This time his hands gripped his whipping stick with killing intent, his momentum pressed him towards the larger rabbit and one of the smaller ones who were frozen in fear. The bristlewood lashed out towards the two with all of the energy the goblin had received from eating the slimes before exhausting every calorie as muscles in his arms tightened and unwound to hopefully wound or kill the fresh meat standing before him.

Should change the current chapter name to Gobs Gone Wild.

____________

“Make our own luck.”

Indeed it seemed that there weren’t any particular bodies of fresh drinkable water in the area for the goblins to satiate their thirst. But if there were hydrophytes in the area, a source of water absolutely needed to be present, even if this was a fantasy world. Perhaps the water was simply underground in aquifers only being brought to the service through the hollow roots of the monstrous trees around them. The horned rabbits seemed to confirm those thoughts as they peeled chunks of the bark away chiseled small holes to lap moisture from the tree that huddled around.

Emri was already on the quiet side, and while he wasn’t light on his feet like some of his other brothers and sisters he definitely paid attention to the ground. Carefully he crept through the loose foliage, just out of sight from the rabbits. The anxious goblin considered their large ears definitely being a means to hear predators before other non-specialized prey monsters. Even if they were just for show, the goblin watched for every twig and every dry leaf on the ground, holding his breath as his toes sought moist mud to sink his foot into with a hushed squish.

Another deep breath. Bright yellow eyes watched without blinking for a long few moments in anticipation for a reaction. But the time to act was now, waiting any longer and they could move.

With his barbed stick overhead, Emri leapt from the bush landing on the opposite side from Hoi. His actions were definitely exaggerated this time and as he swung the lashing stick towards the rabbits, it more to startle and rule them up. To further increase the effectiveness of the fear charade, Emri expanded his chest as he inhaled a bunch of musky forest air. And then his mouth opened wide as he stomped towards them swinging again.

”Die! We eat you! Now!”

With each stomping of his bare feet, the family of cute forest dwellers leapt away in Hoi’s direction. The largest one seemed to move the slowest, turning its horn towards Emri defensively with each uniform leap in the opposite direction. It’s position was defensive, willing to risk its life to protect the group from the rear. But unfortunate for the brave horned rabbit, Emri’s gobbo brain was superior to its silky rabbit brain. It should’ve eaten more slime cores.

Don’t judge the level up copy pasta.

I will be reading your posts differently from now on.
