@VitaVitaAR Yeah, not really their style at all, I'll be the first to admit. I'm going off the idea that the Einzberns outsourced the magecraft instruction, considering they've outsourced in the past; that being said, I doubt they'd outsource as radically as the fourth holy grail war, so I dare not go beyond instructors and equipment.
I understand this is a bit ambitious so feel free to shoot me down here yo. c:
Name: Annalena von Einzbern - although it may be of note that the 'von Einzbern' has effectively dropped off after she renegaded the family.
Age: Has the appearance of a 21 (twenty-one) year old, although she's lived just under 8 (eight) years.
Gender: Female.
Appearance: Annalena stands at 5 feet and 7 inches tall with a pale and clear complexion accompanied by conspicuous white hair and a pair of vibrant red eyes. Her hair is grown and often worn in a plat, which is then twisted around and secured in a tight bun at the back of her head.
She generally wears a pair of dark shaded cargo pants, complete with an assortment of zips and pockets and hels up by a belt, that lead down to a pair of black redback terra cotta combat boots where they are either bloused off or tucked into the boot. A white 3/4 sleeve top is worn on the torso with a white and black hoodie worn atop. Additionally, she wears a black shemagh around her neck. Her hood is normally worn up and her hair run into the back of her shemagh to conceal herself as a homonculi, where she may be tracked by the Einzberns or by other masters. More interestingly, when she's overtly acting as a master or suspects she's been or is about to be detected, she wears a white mask with black mesh over the eyes as to prevent the eyes being identified - considering they stand out a little bit - with black checkers detailing the right hand third of the mask; the mask is worn with a black beanie, which conceals the white hair
Personality: Annalena is a cautious, cunning, and pragmatic girl, with a soft spot for being caring that she represses and keeps kicking herself in the side for having. As it may seem, she's objective, driven towards her goal, and even a little bit greedy with her intentions for the grail and how she may very well attempt to get it, and this is frequently reflected in her actions. Those who know Annalena well though, such as members of family she was close with prior to her renegade, know her as a girl who's afraid of not being normal, with a desire to care for others and maintain a spotless garden.
Skills: Annalena, as an Einzbern maid, was trained to be able to defend the future Einzbern holy grail - given the event ever came up again - among various other things. Her peculiar fighting style for a magus reflects this: she fights hand-to-hand, using a range of complex light grapples and strikes, in a nimble and well-practiced manner, with the focus on being able to effectively take down a target - non-lethal of otherwise - unarmed; of course, fighting a servant might be a whole different story, but she's more interested in the masters. She's quite capable of climbing, scaling, descending, and all sorts of similar adjectives various obstacles and heights with aid form her magic, has a keen eye for detail, and above all of her other skills: is an amazing gardener! The Einzbern garden was at its peak when she was taking care of it, everyone agrees!
Abilities: As a homonculi, Annalena has very powerful magic circuits capable of outputting masses of magic through methods she knows; the flipside of this being that she entirely lacks reproductive abilities and has a shorter lifespan than the norm: selective losses with her intention of being a maid to defend the next Einzbern holy grail.
Annalena is an adept in kinetic magic, being her magic of specialization, and has experience with lesser healing magic. She primarily uses kinetic magic to compliment her fighting style; bursts of kinetic energy boost her speed and drive her around the battlefield and provide extra oomph to her strikes and grapples, kinetic walls and shields allow her to block with her limbs without taking damage, smash through fragile obstacles scott-free, create armor-piercing spikes for her strikes, and can even shield her from onslaughts, provided she can maintain it, whilst her minor healing magic allows her to relieve pain, tend to minor wounds, stabilize an array of injuries, improve adrenaline rates, and an array of other such tasks. In summary, she's much more about buffing and maintaining using kinetic and minor healing magic. All of these could be put on someone else and she could become a dedicated support, but she's only vaguely trained in this and would need to spend a bit of time familiarizing herself with it for who she intends to use it on.
Brief Backstory: Annalena von Einzbern was created by the Einzbern family - a well known family for their contributions to the conception and implementation of the Holy Grail War, for providing a vessel for the Holy Grail each year, summoning Avenger and turning the Holy Grail into a means for Angra Mainyu and, in turn, corrupting the Holy Grail and turning it into a means of bringing forth all evil of the world, and for making the controversial decision to outsource in the fourth holy grail war which effectively led to Shirou's victory of the fifth - with the intention of becoming a maid and bodyguard for the next planned vessel for the holy grail. As is standard for homonculi, she took in all she needed to learn from the world around her and was very quickly off on her way to learning what she needed to learn from appropriate instructors to effectively carry out her job within the Einzbern family.
Shortly after her seventh "birthday", even if that in itself is a technicality, Annalena started to dabble in the affairs of "normal" humans more frequently with her trips into Fuyuki city for groceries and such. Gripped by curiosity, she found herself learning more and more about what life for normal people is like, and it soon came to grasp her like a vice. That's what she wanted - she didn't want to spend her short lifespan locked away, serving the Einzbern holy grail and tending the gardens of the castle, she wanted to spend her short lifespan fulfilling her dreams so that, if she must live a short life, it would be short and content. The first step for that is to become normal.
Annalena spent 3 months conspiring against her family, organizing all sorts of escape routes and supply dead drops among various other things, before she made her grand escape. She made the mistake of leaving the Einzbern holy grail, who she held dearly, a goodbye letter which was intercepted by the other maid who met her in battle in the lobby. A deadly and destructive clash ensued as the two maids of white - one with a large halberd and the other unarmed - fought with mixed emotions, destroying a significant amount of the lobby in the process. In the end, she struck down her fellow maid and left her in a critical yet stabilized condition in the lobby before fleeing into the forest; by nightfall, she was on a plane to Australia where she would cover her tracks before proceeding on to Britain, to infiltrate the clock tower to begin an extensive investigation on the holy grail war. She knew she was a vessel, even if not an ideal one, and even if there was a chance of being used then reborn again, she would take it.
When word of a new holy grail appearing in Redrock reached her - perhaps one that wouldn't require her gambling sacrifice and rebirth - she was there within 36 hours. She skulked and she prowled, lifting all she could with the intention of down a master to take their command seals; when it so happened that the top of her left forearm became clad in command seals suddenly, she smirked at her entry and moved on to the process of summoning a servant.
I'm probably a little bit late here but if anybodies interested in a joint history via. marriage, please feel free to let me know~ c: I originally had Lady Elewys set up for this with a friend who was originally making an application but he's dropped out, so if anybody wants in on that, yeah, s'all set up on my end anyways ^-^
Lords Paramount of the Westerlands "As the crow flies."
House Seat: Lord's Roost (Casterly Rock).
House History: House Arcenia is a relatively young house relative to some of the other powers of Westeros; the family was raised to Lordship with the Lord acting as a lesser noble and servant to the King of the Westerlands due to military success and service shortly before the arrival of Aegon the Conqueror. When Aegon rid of the Kings of old, Lord Arcenia remained but a bannerman to the incoming Lord of the Westerlands; initially they were understandably reluctant, no longer servicing their old lords, but came to serve their new lords faithfully over time.
Later in time, when the Lord of the Westerlands began to plot against the Targaryens, the Targaryens saw the line ended and the Lord of the Westerlands replaced; Lord Arcenia was named Lord Paramount of the Westerlands and Warden of the West.
Recently, House Arcenia has been a source of controversy after Lord Lysandros Arcenia, Lord Paramount of the Westerlands and Warden of the West, named his eldest daughter, Orsin Arcenia, as one of his generals.
Family:
Gender: Male.
Age: 52 (Fifty-two).
Physical description: Lysandros stands at 5 feet and 10 inches with a light, slightly tanned and wrinkled complexion accompanied by grey hair, which is well groomed with a full beard. He generally wears black noble clothes with a white trim, reflecting the colors of his house, and retains a healthy posture, build, and mannerisms regardless of his growing age.
Personality: A lifetime of leadership has shaped Lysandros, and his personality reflects this. For him, the ends justify the means; honor, loyalty, and other such terms are important to him, but can be compromised if it's too difficult or detrimental to maintain. He values his family and the royal family above all and his political decisions trend to reflect these values.
Within his house, he values education and counsel with high regard and he is known to delegate a number of duties, including the education of his children, quite tactfully across his counsel and senior members of court; he encourages his subjects to seek education where possible and as such, Lord Roost's library trends to be larger than most bannermen's libraries, and the house has a higher percentage of subjects that join the Order of Maesters. For his family, his subjects, and his peers, he is 'considerately objective' - doing what he can where he can provided it's not of notable overall loss.
Biography: Lysandros Arcenia is the second-born son of Droet Arcenia and was born and raised in Lord's Roost and the surrounding lands owned by House Arcenia. During his upbringing, he was delivered a military education with the intention of leading the soldiers and knights of House Arcenia into battle whilst his older brother, Alwin, received a more academic upbringing as the named and rightful heir of House Arcenia. For the most of his adolescence Lysandros was grateful, but at around 15 years of age he began to spite Alwin as he grew to fully realize what being heir was. By 21 years of age this had passed and Lysandros became content with his position within the House.
When Lysandros was in his mid to late twenties, House Arcenia was confronted with a significant peasant rebellion sparked by introduction of influence of the Faith of the Old Golds in Arcenia lands. Lysandros received his first major field experiences of command during this rebellion and with appropriate counsel from the Master-at-Arms, he successfully put down the rebellion and claimed his first military victory.
In his later years, Droet grew deathly ill and was put on permanent bed rest by the house maester. With his age considered he was not expected to recover. Struck by grief, Alwin rarely left his fathers bedside and eventually contracted the illness himself. Droet passed away before long and after a long and fierce battle, Alwin passed away as well. Lysandros suddenly become the Lord of House Arcenia and was left without a tailored education or a mentor to come into the roll; naturally, with his experience of relying on the Master-at-Arms for advice and mentoring, he relied heavily on his council to help him and teach him how to govern. Years passed before Lysandros become comfortable and competent in his position, allowing him to become the militant lord of House Arcenia.
In his later life, after becoming Lord of House Arcenia, Lysandros frequently took time with his Maester and dabbled in academics now that he was given the full opportunity. From this he developed his value of education, and engaged minor reforms within his house to support this; even if he could not fully invest in it himself, which he never really ended up doing, he wanted others to have the chance.
Much like House tradition has dictated for many years, Lysandros serves the monarch of the seven kingdoms faithfully and leads his house as such.
Gender: Female.
Age: 49.
Physical description: Elewys stands at 5 feet and 7 inches with a light and slightly wrinkled complexion accompanied by emerald green eyes, graying natural black hair, which is well-groomed and worn in an aesthetic bun. She generally wears a black dress with a white trim, reflecting the colors of her house, and retains a healthy posture, build, and mannerisms regardless of her growing age.
Personality: Elewys is truly a mother first, and a noblewoman next, with all the rest falling secondary. As she enters her later age, she's becoming quite concerned with ensuring that her children are in the best position they can be in for when the day comes that they take over the house upon their passing or abdication. She cares for her children greatly and will nearly go to any length to ensure the best for them, and the house they are soon to inherent.
Biography: Elewys Arcenia, born Elewys Rydal, was born and raised within Silvercrest of House Rydal. She was raised with the intention of becoming a potential suitor for marriage, which she very well did when she was betrothed to Lysandros Arcenia, the second-born son of House Arcenia. At first, their marriage was simply an arranged marriage - they bore no love for one another but still found enjoyment in one anothers company never-the-less. Shortly before Lysandros inherited the title of Lord of House Arcenia, their feelings began to develop further, turning into love a couple years after Lysandros became the Lord of House Arcenia.
Gender: Female.
Age: 24.
Physical description: Orsin Arcenia stands at 5 feet and 9 inches with a light, slightly tanned, and clear complexion, with well-groomed natural black hair which is either worn out in noble attire or in a tight bun when she's wearing her armor. Many of her facial features - such as her blue eyes - take after her father greatly. She generally wears a black male noble clothes with a white trim, reflecting the colors of her house, and is well-built for a female, reflecting her pursuit of military expertise. When in armor she mostly wears full plate, as she often moves mounted in the disciplines of a knight.
Personality: Orsin is very much a tomboy - had she not had the requirements of the court in her upbringing, she would have lost all femininity that remains to her. She's rough as guts, aggressive with some restraint, and known to drink and brawl when appropriate as it suits her. She's locally renowned for her ability as a military leader, with her lifes work so far revolving around the armies of House Arcenia.
Biography: Orsin is the first-born daughter of Lord Lysandros and Lady Elewys. She was raised within the walls of Lord's Roost and taught the ways of the court with the intentions of raising her into an admirable suitor to be offered to the royal house as an ultimate pledge of loyalty through marriage, although she would never have any of that; Orsin took too much after her father and his stories of his military pursuits such as fighting the past rebellion, and frequently sneaked away from Lord's Roost to watch the soldiers and knights or climb the local hill to overlook the coast with the treeline.
In her teenage years, Lysandros finally permitted Orsin to practice with the sword underneath the Master-at-Arms considering that she had a habit of finding trouble in her adventurous pursuits. She was dedicated in her studies, and the Master-at-Arms would teach her of military leadership and the life of the soldier as relevant to the lessons. One thing led to another and Orsin next began her campaign to abandon her training in the courts and begin to learn of leading the military forces of the House. Lysandros adamantly refused, and it was only the persistence of the Master-at-Arms that convinced him to give her a challenge - she was to prove that she was capable regardless of her status as a female, and resign to the fact that she could never be formally knighted because of her gender. Years later, when Orsin came before Lord Lysandros and a sum of esteemed guests from neighboring houses on parade, with the troops of House Arcenia now undeniably loyal to her as a leader after initial troubles and distrust, and offered to pledge her loyalty to her Lord, Lord Lysandros accepted and named her a General of House Arcenia. Orsin has held the office since. Of course, this is quite peculiar to many and is widely criticized.
Gender: Male.
Age: 22.
Physical description: Lorens stands at 5 feet and 11 inches with a light, slightly tanned, and clear complexion accompanied by natural black hair, which is cut short and well-groomed alongside a crisp, clean shaven face, and emerald green eyes, after his mother. He generally wears black noble clothes with a white trim, reflecting the colors of his house, and has healthy, if not a bit more fragile, posture and build.
Personality: Lorens is very much the spymaster, if there ever was such an official appointment within a bannerman's house. He genuinely cares for his family and his subjects and sees to their needs but otherwise is hellbent on achieving the best outcome for his house and his family, and has taken to intrigue as a means. Much like his father, the end justifies the means, with the full effect of the implications that carries. To those who are aware, he is quite sly, cunning, careful, and maybe a little bit too ambitious for someone so young.
Biography: Lorens was born and raised within the walls of Lord's Roost as the second-born child and first-born son of Lord Lysandros and Lady Elewys. As the named heir of House Arcenia, he was raised with education in both the courts and grand leadership with the intention of taking on the burdens of leading his house after Lysandros. He achieved just that, becoming the ideal candidate for the role - but he needed to get his excitement from somewhere. Lorens took quite well to the ways of the manipulator and the spymaster throughout his years, and uses it to the benefit of his house as of current. He intends to see his house become or set on the way to becoming a Great House.
Gender: Male.
Age: 19.
Physical description: Esme stands at 5 feet and 9 inches with a light, slightly tanned, and clear complexion accompanied by natural black hair, which is well-groomed and tied back into a ponytail with a charismatic stubble, which vibrant green eyes, after his mother. He generally wears black noble clothes with a white trim, reflecting the colors of his house, and has a slightly built, aesthetic build with good posture and mannerisms.
Personality: Esme is very much the disappointment of the family, only a few drunken steps away from landing himself in either a marriage into a Northern or Dornish house, or into a one-way carriage to the Night's Watch. He's a regular at the local whorehouse and a known party-goer in King's Landing, where he frequently slips away from Lord's Roost to take in the nightlife of the city; he is even known to occasionally err on the other side of the law, narrowly avoiding great shame to his family on a number of occasions.
Biography: Esme was born and raised within the walls of Lord's Roost with the intention of becoming a military leader for the houses armies, much like Lysandros was as the second-born son. Esme rejected this fate, paying little attention to his training and being quite difficult to manage - so when Orsin took over, he was more than grateful. Lysandros then tried to raise him into an admirable suitor to be married off into another family, but Esme didn't like that very much either; the only reason Lysandros hasn't sent him away yet is because Lorens encourages him not to, as Lorens finds use in Esme's connections in the criminal underworld of King's Landing.
Holders of Office:
Gender: Male.
Age: 47 (Forty-seven).
Physical description: Ser Sigan Volckert stands at 5 feet and 9 inches with a tanned and wrinkling complexion accompanied by graying dark brown hair with grown, slicked hair and an extended beard. He generally wears plate on mail bearing the colors and insignia of his house alongside symbols of rank when dismounted and full plate when mounted, but otherwise wears black noble attire. His eyes are a dull hazel.
Personality: Ser Sigan Volckert is typical of a fierce military commander, and he runs a tight ship: he favors quality over quantity and follows the belief that if for every one that is killed two will take their place, then each man only needs to be able to kill three to make the difference. He's harsh and he's strict, sure, but for his house and for his men, he wants only the best; for example, his efforts he put into training Orsin.
Biography: Ser Sigan Volckert was born and raised in the North as a peasant, leading to a particularly tough and hardy upbringing. He found his way into becoming a squire for a knight and, after coming of age, became a knight himself. After many years of service as a Knight of the North and, later on, a Knight of the Crownlands, he found his retirement as a Master-at-Arms for House Arcenia, passing on his accumulated knowledge to those who would follow in his discipline coming up his twilight years. He would never admit it, but what Orsin has become is his pride and joy - she is, without a doubt, his greatest success.
Gender: Male.
Age: 34 (Thirty-four).
Physical description: Ixidor stands at 5 feet and 8 inches with a light, slightly tanned, and clear complexion accompanied by groomed lighter brown hair with a clean shave. He generally wears his grey robes and chain. His eyes are a semi-vibrant hazel.
Personality: If there had to be one word to describe Ixidor, it would be teacher. He's all about passing on what he knows to those willing to learn, and often does it in a mutual-esque way, sitting down and talking over a non-alcoholic drink or in a similar way. On the most part he's fairly easygoing and enjoys sitting 'to ward off old age', but gets to his feet when it's required. When his council is not required he's fairly reserved, and trends to enjoy the simpler aspects of life, such as watching the seasons change or reading by a candle.
Biography: Maester Ixidor Gabrielli was born and raised as a peasant in Lord's Roost, and was one of the considerable number of people to be effected by Lysandros reforms in education who joined the Order of Maesters in turn. Shortly after becoming a certified Maester, he eagerly returned to Lord's Roost to return the favor to his Lord in service, and pass on what he loved doing to those within and underneath the house.
Gender: Female.
Age: Twenty-five (25).
Physical description: Septa Emidie Tilly stands at 5 feet and 6 inches with a very light and clear complexion. Her hair is blonde and worn short, but is mostly concealed by her septa's attire, which emphasizes her vibrant blue eyes.
Personality: Religious duties aside, Emidie is very much the second mother of the family. She is caring and compassionate and dedicates some effort to her motherly pursuits; she spends a lot of time with Elewys and helps her a lot with her motherly pursuits, which she loves doing regardless. She's also a close friend of Orsin, and often acts as a sounding board for her frustrations and troubles; she'd never admit them to anyone else.
Biography: Septa Emidie Tilly was originally an orphan in the far north - thus her very pale complexion and blonde hair - with not much hope for her left. She was picked up by the Faith of the Seven at quite a young age and raised into their ranks as a Septa and taught their ways ever since. House Arcenia was her first appointment as a member of a council, but she's stayed there for years and never left due to how well she's fit in with the family, practically becoming an adopted child; were she not a member of the Faith of the Seven, it's certain that Elewys would have had her adopted by now.
Esme has made many attempts at seducing Emidie but not once has he ever even remotely succeeded.
Gender: Male.
Age: 28 (Twenty-eight).
Physical description: Blaive Garrabrant stands at 5 feet and 8 inches with a light and slightly tanned complexion accompanied by light brown hair with a groomed full beard. He generally wears black noble clothes and has a healthy posture, build, and mannerisms.
Personality: Castellan Blaive Garrabrant is very much the diplomat and 'master of coin' of House Arcenia. He's thoughtful, considerate, values compromising and trade, has a keen eye for economics, and is all about peaceful outcomes. Within the House, he's known as a good friend and a helping hand, and gets along with most members of the house. His eyes are a semi-vibrant brown.
Biography: Blaive Garrabrant was born and raised in King's Landing, and taken into the court as a page at the dawn of his teenage years. He found his calling in his work and pursued it further with diligent work and effort, and found a keen ability in economics; he spent a brief time assisting the Master of Coin in his early twenties before he moved on to greater callings, finding a place in House Arcenia as a Castellan with the approval and recommendation of the Master of Coin of the time.
Gender: Male.
Age: 32 (Thirty-two).
Physical description: Amalrich Machel stands at 5 feet and 9 inches with a dark tanned complexion accompanied by natural black hair with a light beard with dropped and thinned sides. He generally wears his guardsman attire slightly altered to be lighter, wearing leather at best, with insignia of his rank. His eyes are a vibrant green.
Personality: Amalrich is pretty much the successful version of Esme - he's friendly and full of laughter, but is sexually reserved, committed to his job, and puts his traits into his work to positive effect. He doesn't get along very well with the Master-at-Arms with his more easy-going, delegative approach to leadership, but in turn, the guard has great leaders who have learned how through his delegation and guidance, although is one of the few who Esme opens up to, and who Esme looks to for guidance when he, in his rare moments, looks for guidance and council.
Biography: Amalrich Machel was born a ways away in the eastern end of Dorne, along the coast. When he was young he found entertainment at the docks, watching the ships come in and occasionally sneaking aboard to take a look to jump off before it left port - finding himself in a pinch here and there. Come his mid-teens he started working the docks and his early twenties, he joined a ships crew. In hid mid twenties he found himself the captain of his ship, elected by majority vote, and learnt the management skills he would need to become the Captain of the Guards on the seas. After getting his adventure, seeing lengths of Westeros and Essos alike, he retired from his position as Captain at King's Landing and, after some months, found himself working for the guard of Lord's Roost- a much more peaceful and reserved career than a ship captain. Years passed, and he found himself Captain of the Guards, approved by the majority of senior guardsmen for the skills he found on the high seas.
