I added some more detail to setting regarding the main building now that I've started to organize classes (ref. paragraph 4). Attached below for anybody who's interested.

Setting, paragraph 4 (New)

The main building has 3 floors, each floor 'belonging' to a pair of year levels - whilst that floor is home to the year group, it's also their responsibility to look after it and report any damage to the teachers. The first floor belongs to years 7 and 8, the second floor to years 9 and 10, and the third floor to years 11 and 12. Each floor has 8 classrooms - numbered 1-8, a study lounge where students from all classes on that floor can work together, and elective rooms spread across the three floors; going to an elective subject is the only time a student may have to go to a different floor for their studies. The staff room and the on-call nurses office - although it should be noted there is also a separate, more equipped medical building, and that office is just for the nurse-on-call - is located on the second floor, the key staff offices on the third floor.

Monday the 1st of February , 2015 - 05:00 to 09:00 (Before school)

The earlybirds - both literally and figuratively - began to chirp and bustle come the morning of the 1st of February; all except the nurse-on-duty, who dragged their feet all the way to their quarters after a long and hopefully uneventful night at the desk. The atmosphere at the school could be described by an abstract English teacher as 'upliftingly tense' - after all, today was the first day of the school year for students at the prestigious and bold Yamaku Academy!

Word through the dorms is that first class has been replaced with an assembly; and for good reason, as there's been physical letters and e-mails sent to all of the students about it. Rumor has it that the headmaster is going to open the year - probably by talking the students to death for half an hour - before class rosters are being given out. Annoyingly enough, attendance is mandatory, or at least as far as the staff like to think.
