Stone munched heartily on the donuts she got from his employer. He’d noticed the man, he was there on the hologram projected by the twin stud earrings when the advertisement popped itself in front of her. Finishing them in seconds, Stone craved for more. There were more donuts but she hesitated for some reason.
The reason became more apparent as other people… creatures?... arrived with her. A bug like thing stood among them, so was a girl with the unusual speaking pattern. She kind of liked it, it was something new – entirely new even in this foreign place and era she woke up in. Licking her lips, Stone contemplated on speaking up. She didn’t talk. Instead, she fished another donut from her employer and devoured it right after. She was starving and she needed more than that to fill herself up.
While the interesting girl introduced herself, she looked around and her eyes became glued to the just-rampaging-creature-now-calmed-by-music and her stomach growled. Without hesitation – this time – she stepped up and approached the creature. One bite, just one bit from it and she’ll get to taste more flavors she’d ever tasted. It would be new, exotic. Delicious. Everything was delicious. She stopped. The bug creature professed its identity to her and her head hurt, it hurt so much she fell down the ground clutching her head. Was it because of her recently awakened state that caused it or was this
Witnessed Day harming her?
”My head. No, my head.”Stone remained on the ground, her head throbbing, pounding. A glimpse of something familiar flashed before her mind’s eye – a couple, a red-headed man and a blonde woman. They smiled at her, Stone felt euphoria at seeing them together. The man was way older than the woman who looked in her early twenties, late teens even.
Her thoughts swerved somewhere else upon her stomach’s growl.
Still hungry Without missing a beat, she snapped back right on her feet, faint orange glow following her.
”I’m Stone and I’m ravenous. Got more food?”She focused on filling herself up. Not time for words, food first. Her eyes surveyed her surroundings and saw her earlier interest – the four-legged thing along with the tiny somethings on it.
Mushrooms? Yes! Food! Stone sprinted, hands outstretched in front of her, grabbing the first wiggling mushroom she could get.
”Awesome there’s more food!” She said with a skip on her step, hands clutching several struggling mushrooms as her mouth opened wide, hungry for sustenance.
