Name
Clara Reid
Age
19
Parent
Gaia
Abilities
Voice of Nature; She's capable of understanding all plant and animals; building a mental link, or simply knowing what they're saying in their native tongue. With humans, she has to establish a mental link to understand, since she's not well versed in many languages. This ability works on any willing plant or animal.
Resurgence; If a plant or animal has recently died or been seriously injured, Clara is capable of infusing them with Nature's essence and healing them again. This takes a tole on her body, and she often goes into meditation after she uses it to balance herself and Nature once again.
Will of the Mother; Clara, as a child of Gaia, has the power to bend Mother Nature to her will. She communicates with her mother through nature, and has been given command of the Earth.
Personality
Soft | Motherly | Compassionate | Firm | Responsible | Forgetful
Clara was raised to understand and to compromise; by a family built on love and loneliness. From a young age she learned not to judge others based on the face they show the world, and to listen when someone wants to talk. She rarely dislikes anyone without a drastic reason. Her anger is saved for those who disrespect the Mother Earth; those who bully the weaker. Like a mother or elder sister, Clara does her best to keep others on the right path, taking care of their responsibilities. In no way will she do something for someone else, but she's always happy to help. Of everyone who's met her, none have been able to tell a tale of her being angry, or even seriously fighting someone. She often sits out of sparring sessions, preferring to rest in the gardens.
Short Bio
Gaia loves those who love her, respects and is greatly moved when one would sacrifice themselves for nature. Often, Gaia will take in the spirit of one kind to her creations, and give them a second chance as one of the man spirits that walk the Earth. Other times, she gives them another life the walk. But just once, Gaia watched one man care for herself more them his own physical condition. It was a dangerous area to live, but he stayed and cared for the wildlife as he could, nurturing plants and small animals. As far as the goddess could see, he had no family. One day, she spoke to him with the voice of a young girl, but fearing she had frightened him, Gaia went back to silently watching her object of affection. The man couldn't have been more than forty mortal years when part of the cliff that towered above the forest broke off. Instead of running for his life, the man put himself in the way of the rock and a small kitten of fox cubs to save them and their mother. Gaia was moved to tears by this, taking his body into her soil, embracing him softly, whispering to his soul as she molded his body. Using his genetic material, she brought life to his bloodline again. In the form of a small female child.
Not wanting her to be poisoned by humanity, Gaia took a human form and lived in the forest with her. She would take the girl to a grave made of beautiful stone and flowers, to visit her father. Gaia had always regretted not speaking with her mortal love, but she had feared what would become of it. Though, with the small girl growing in her home, she could see the beauty in innocence and humanity once again. Once the child had turned ten, Gaia was contacted by Zeus, the man furious that she had broken his laws. This tension frightened the young Clara, and with big, green eyes, she looked up at the two and asked if they could talk things out.
"I think that anyone should be able to be with their family. The people they love."
Zeus was not swayed by her words, and Gaia knew that he would return again. Even if he was no match for her, Gaia did not want to start a war. It was a sad parting, but Clara and Gaia knew they could contact the other by whispering with the leaves. Thus, Clara was sent to live at Olympus Academy with other demi-gods. She was lonely without her mother, afraid of the other children at first, but she soon came to know and love the others as her family. Clara see's the school not as just a place of learning, but as a home; each student a part of her family. She hopes to be able to mediate the growing tension, without having to resort to violence again.
