Name: Aron

Race: Variant Human

Class: Fighter Banneret

Background: Guild Artisan

Character Sheet Link: https://dicecloud.com/character/MsY9YGyFt9vphQ8ij/Aron

Likes and Dislikes: (at least two things of each) Aron loves a good story above anything, especially when told by a compelling story teller. He is also fond of spending the night under the stars, cuisine of the spicy variety and can appreciate the craftsmanship of well-made weapons and armor.
He's not overly fond of sweet food, dislikes it when someone takes advantage of others, has a slight phobia of horses and he hates dressing up/overly formal situations, preferring comfort and simplicity over anything else.

Backstory: Seperated from his family at the age of five when he fell from the ship they were traveling on during a horrible storm, Aron was pulled aboard the ship of a group of traveling merchants. They had planned on sending him to an orphanage once they reached shore, but the captain of the ship called in a favor with an old friend. Which is how Ilsur, a dwarven smith in the small town they docked at, gained a new apprentice. It was rough-going at first, them having to adjust to each-other, but eventually they bonded, the old dwarf finally having someone to tell stories to about his adventuring days. Aron loved hearing his guardian's stories of adventure and as he grew, often went out to try and create ones of his own - which more often than not, led to him getting himself into stupid situations/causing trouble. In order to stop his fool apprentice from burning down the town, Ilsur started giving him fighting lessons whenever they weren't working at the forge, hoping to leave him too tired for anything other than sleep. Surprisingly enough, Aron showed promise for the blade and when he was fifteen, forged his first personal sword by himself. His feet has become restless though, his gaze traveling ever outwards, so once he reached twenty one, Ilsur helped him with the necessary preparations, before telling him to get out and not to come back without at least one story to tell. He has since been traveling for three years and loving every second of it. He was planning on stopping by Ilsur's forge, to check up on the old fellow, before heading out once more.
@Expolar
If you want the liberties, they're yours, I've been trying to decide where he grew up myself. At the moment I'm kinda leaning towards Nova, but if you have any other ideas or anything I'm happy to hear it!

Also, SO PSYCHED FOR THE OOC!!!! Can't wait for the rp to officially be kicked off!!!
@Expolar
What are your character's likes and dislikes? A minimum of two things is good enough.

Aron loves a good story above anything, especially when told by a compelling story teller.

Now that we have a bit more people, does anyone feel their character may know another character or was traveling with them before being taken?

I'm open to it. He might have stopped at one of the bars our resident entertainers were performing at some time during his travels, or he could have bumped into either Angus or Orchid on the road and they decided to travel together for a day or two since their heading in the same direction? Let me know if any of ya'll are interested :D

Before or during your character began venturing out into the world, do you feel there were any enemies or allies made? This does not need an answer, but if you feel that there is, you can mention here or PM.

I think he'll have a couple of allies in the form of merchants/smiths scattered across various towns who are friends with Ilsur and who he occasionally helped out by doing guard-work or something similar. He also spent a brief time working as a guard for a small town, Riverside, so the townspeople there should be willing to help him out with smaller things.
In his travels, he managed to majorly peeve off the halfling leader of a bandit-group after bumping into them and consequently fowling their plans. Otho Brandywine has big plans of boiling him in butter(long story pertaining to their first encounter) and leaving him for the crows the next time they cross paths.

Although I am still working on the summary of the major places of the world, are there any questions that you have about the world?

Not at present, no.

For the resilient feat that Aron has, what ability score did you increase? I'm still seeing two saving throws being proficient, unless it was one of them?

It is, I used it to increase his constitution.

@Dark Light
For the table, Aaron's a variant human, here's his sheet: https://dicecloud.com/character/MsY9YGyFt9vphQ8ij/Aron

And then there were three...

Eying the newcomer for any signs of hostility while Americano(it was getting a bit confusing with no names and the second man's accent sounds American) informed him that they didn't know what was going on either. Taking in his appearance, he too was dressed in the same outfit as them - collar and everything - and seemed genuine enough as far as South(he's pretty confident that Afrikaans is his home language since he automatically spoke it upon waking, and that language is mostly found in South Africa) could tell... This was seriously getting too suspicious.

If they were really prisoners, what's up with the things in the(ir?) rooms? Movies and video games! What the heck is up with that(a small part of him feels a little bit cheated)? Like Americano said, a normal prison wouldn't allow those things. The aesthetic of this place was all wrong too, it resembled a science facility more than a prison. Add the collars...

Adjusting his grip on the Atlas slightly, it was a battle and a half to keep his inner turmoil to himself when all he wanted was to bury his head in his hands and curse again as theory after morbid theory started forming - being used for hunting practice by some serial killer being the least worrisome of them. Unfortunately, doing so was a luxury that he could not afford. With every passing second, a feeling of dread grows stronger and his instincts screams for the need to find a way out, something that requires him to keep a level head.

Focus falling back on the two men, he gave them a nod as he addressed them, voice thankfully even. "Right, now that we've established our lack of information, we need to come up with a plan. There are only a few possible reasons I can think of for our situation, non of them good. We need to start moving, maybe see if there are others and find the exit as soon as possible. We should start by checking rooms, see if there is anything we can use, get the two of you something to hit with if nothing else, just in case."

Pausing to think for a second, he added almost as a side-thought "Also, no names will start to get confusing, so we should think of something to call ourselves until we remember our real names." addressing the newcomer "Unless you have better luck than us in that regard, of course." back to both of them "I'll be South, any objections to me calling you Americano, or do you have something else in mind?" he asked the first guy.
@Expolar
It's fine, I finished the rolls and updated my sheet.
Decided to go with the second set https://www.roleplayerguild.com/campaigns/715
@Expolar
Thanks! I'm glad that you approve! I made the rolls using https://gc3.github.io/taters/dnd5e/ability_score_roller.html this roller I found online. I don't think it uses a time stamp, but I'm fine with re-rolling if you want me to.
@rush99999 Thank you for the tip! I appreciate it!

@Expolar I am so sorry for the faulty link! https://dicecloud.com/character/MsY9YGyFt9vphQ8ij/Aron It should work now. And thanks for the advice! I'll go back and try it!

For Aron's subclass, I decided to go with Banneret after much deliberation. I had to eliminate the shooters since Aron just doesn't seem like the ranged-weapon type, and I couldn't really go with the more mount-centered classes since Aron doesn't have one at this time and because he has a slight phobia of horses. Unfortunately, I had to cross out the subclasses that involved magic as well as a lengthy study period, because he wouldn't really have had a chance to study them, so it wouldn't have made sense story-wise. That left me with four viable options, Brute, Champion, Battle Master and Banneret. While I really liked the Battle Master subclass, it just didn't feel right for Aron... I had to eliminate the Brute and Champion as well, though it was a close call. Aron might take training seriously and everything, but for him the end goal has never been his own physical prowess, but to be able to have an adventure, have his own stories to tell, just like the ones his guardian always told him. Furthermore, he is a friendly and outgoing individual - if a bit prone to mischief at times - and was always the leader of his childhood group of friends when it came to games or just stirring up the neighborhood. While he isn't the type to make long inspiring speeches, he is sincere and won't sit back during a troublesome situation, but will stand up for what he believes is right, even if it means leading the charge. Which is why I chose Banneret, it just seems to fit him the most.

Also, after a lot of searching, I found a picture that is as close to how I imagine Aron as I could get. As for the outfit, lets just say that's how his regular traveling clothes look without chainmail.

@Expolar I am a 100% still iterested! Thank you so much for the links! They were beyond helpful! Thanks to you I was able to piece together a more or less completed cs with relatively little hassle. https://dicecloud.com/character/MsY9YGyFt9vphQ8ij/Aron I just need to figure out how to add the dueling bonus to his attack and decide on an image and I should be done.

Speaking of images, so far this is the closest one I could find to how I picture Aron, but the outfit is a bit off... Are we allowed to just use a headshot or are full-bodied pics mandatory?
Is past dnd experience important? Because I'd love to join, but this would be my first dnd rp so I just want to check if me kind of being a noob would be a bother?

If my noob status is not a bother though, I already have a character idea, hopefully I didn't mess anything up while creating him and I'm definitely willing to edit this if this clashes with the map or anything!
