“It's a video game so I'm not sure how the hell you have real ones, that's pretty damn weird, Eighth Grader."
“A video game?” Whitney asked. She blinked for a few times while trying to figure out what that actually meant in practise for her. Many video game characters were incredibly awesome and Whitney did not have anything against being like that. Defeating all the obstacles on her way and being immensely powerful were things which sounded like a dream. But there was also something she couldn’t put into words, an eerie feeling that she couldn’t explain.
“That’s freaking cool! I gotta be an awesome hero, who defeats everyone who dares to threaten the peace of the world or something!” she shouted cheerfully but her voice trembled a bit. An emotional breakdown was creeping closer (again) even though the girl did her all to barricade its path with pictures of herself as a fabulous heroine. They slowed it down but did not manage to stop it.
"Wow! What does a cute cow is doing in the middle of the cold?" a little girl said. Whitney turned towards her. Seeing an opportunity to praise her Pokémon suddenly cleared all the anxiety, at least for the moment, and she started to babble about her Pokémon. “Isn’t it cute, right? It’s my main Pokémon Miltank. It’s normal type, I’m a normal type gym leader, you know. And it’s not only cute, it’s powerful as well!”
“Others have been away quite a while, aren’t they”, she changed thr subject after a while of exaltation. “I’m starting to feel a bit uneasy. Hopefully they haven’t run into a trouble. Hah, who am I even kidding, it’s rather oblivious that they have. There is no way not to run into a trouble in a place like this. Well, I hope that nothing serious has happened.”
