Nodding in approval, glossy black cylinders he had for eyes shone against the sun like rhinestones. He accepted the handshake with gusto before letting his leathery glove slither away. "I.. I am Haboko, perhaps you have heard of me? Envious I am sure, but you need be so, as it is all but foreplay to the real me, pretending to be the great conqueror of gyms. It's all a lie... but you have taken it upon yourself to remove sheepishness from your veins and encounter myself in the streets, wht might that be"
A bit confused by the stranger, Abel stood in silence for a moment while he racked through his brain for an answer. "Haboko you said? Hmmm." Shaking his head Abel continued on with an apologetic frown. "Sorry, I can't say that the name rings any bells. But you seem rather confident in yourself, to say the least... I'll get down to business then." A fire ignited in his eyes, his blood pumping from anticipation. "You looked like an interesting guy so I thought I'd come over and challenge you to a battle. So what do you say, one traveler against another?" Abel sincerely hoped the man would accept, seeing how different he was from other trainers he had faced. Most were fairly confident, as would anyone on a winning streak, but this guy was different. He was strange, in a mysterious way, but from what Abel could tell, he didn't seem all that bad.
I definitely wanted a character from ALfheim, but I've found new inspiration to create a world... Any chance I can have two characters?
@Dirty Pretty Lies: Fill out the CS in the first post and send it in to our awesome GM iSuspect. Then you wait for feedback/decision, nothing too scary. ^.^ Hahaha
"My apologies, I couldn't pass up the alliteration. I'll try to control myself from now on." Skylar grabbed a goblet in her hand and watched as it filled a fizzing substance, inhaling the sweet scent before gulping the root beer down. Sighing contently, Skylar tilted her head in legitimate thought. "In all honesty, the goal is to stay sane. Not sure how well that's going to work with all these rules in place, but I'll make it happen one way or another... By any means necessary." She smiled sweetly as she tossed Aedan's phrase back at him. Shifting in her seat, Skylar glanced back at the Ravenclaw table, at her brother with his nose buried deep in his book. Seeming to sense her gaze he glanced up and nodded in her direction letting her know that he was alright on his own. Turning back around, Sky quickly cleared her plate and shoveled more food onto it. "You got any family here with you or are you fending for yourself?" Sky leaned closer across the table, genuinely interested in the answer. She scanned the table to see if anyone stood out as being familiar with Aedan.
@Rystelle: It's not an intrusion at all, thank you for stopping by. I hope he can return quickly but there's no immediate rush.
Max's eyes lit up when Nettle mentioned lending a hand so that he could participate in the festival sooner. Nodding furiously, he beamed with delight. "I'll make as much tea as you want as you want. Thank you so much." Despite being 20 years of age, Max looked like a child who had been granted his greatest desire. Pumped and ready to fly through work, he was just about to speed up when he was distracted by another voice entering the conversation. Turning around he saw Arenwen who worked down at the blacksmith's, smiling warmly toward the girl. "Oh you know... Goat escaped so I had to chase it down. Just a normal day for me." He grinned and glanced back in the direction he was walking, seeing his destination just a bit further up the path. Max wasn't very savvy when it came to maidens and relationships so he ignored the comments about them not being around the goats and instead focused his attention on the newcomer. "How's work at the smithy going? I'm assuming he forced you to take the day off?" Max knew how much she loved working at the shop, having seen her hard at work whenever he ran errands for the place. Birthday or no, she'd probably be down there helping out if she could, though doubtful anyone would let her lift a finger on a day such as this.
"No clue." Jade stared off into space, replaying the memory of the event in her head. Reliving the moment like a dream she spoke her notes aloud, though her speech was much softer and slower than normal as if she were absent from her own body. "Lights first, dark... Pitch black. Slight draft, various smells. Shot: Loud but echoing..." Blinking herself back to reality, she offered her opinion on the matter. "Based off of what I can remember from the time of the event, I'm going to have to agree with Mocha. We should start with whatever rooms are farthest away from the Dining Room we were in, checking all others along the way. It could have come from the upstairs, though somewhere below the house is a possibility too. Houses like these often have special routes for working staff, so we'll have to keep an eye out for things like that too. If you see, hear or smell anything that strikes you as odd note it or share it. Could be important. Ready to head up?"
Ack, sorry sorry. I'm back now.
Abel Marks
Abel wandered the town in silent contemplation, trying to judge the skills of those he passed. Many that he walked by didn't seem like worthy opponents, while others looked worn out from battles they had already encountered. Sighing with his disappointment, Abel rounded the corner and paused thoughtfully. Before him was a stranger, assumingly fresh off the boat, that others on the street stepped around almost nervously. He wasn't doing anything weird but his attire was a little off-putting. "Perfect." He mumbled to himself, approaching the character calmly and full of confidence. "Greetings there, new to the region?" He asked politely, an air of excitement surrounding the boy. Unlike some of the pushier trainers he didn't jump people and demand a battle right off the bat, instead he eased into the question with small talk before hand. "The name is Abel Marks, I'm an Ace Trainer just passing through." Abel offered his hand to shake, hoping the stranger would accept the gesture rather than blowing him off as others have before.
Sky nodded as the boy asked his questions, a small smile curling the corners of her lips. "You've got a good eye there." Taking her time in answering, chewing her food as she returned some of the stares with calm looks of her own. "The closest would be the Rowle family." She let it hang in the air for the judging eyes, allowing them to come to their own decisions about her as she ate. It was known that the Rowle family had been loyal to the Death Eater party but she didn't think that appropriate to mention with teachers being as close as they were. Shaking the thoughts off, she returned her full attention to her newfound friend. "So Selwyn... New year, new school. Have any interesting plans for the next seven years of your life?" Sky began to relax a little more, slouching in her seat rather than sitting up straight as she had when she first sat down. She didn't feel the need to return gazes anymore, choosing to ignore them as she felt them. It was strange for everybody, being encouraged to mingle with the other houses, but she found it rather interesting. It wasn't as if she needed meal time to bond with her housemates, she was going to be living with them for quite a few years after all.
