Caden shrugged in response to Rhiannon's comments. "I suppose it might be a bit of a stretch but I try not to burst their bubbles. If calling us superheroes makes them feel better, who are we to tell them otherwise? After all, hope is such a difficult thing to come by these days." The "Angel" fell silent as Rhiannon and Kyle spoke, voicing both their opinions on using their abilities in training.

"At first it might seem like you're using them a lot, but Kyle here is correct. Not only do you need to be completely comfortable with your ability but your teammates need to have experience working alongside it as well. The more we know about each other's gifts the better battle strategies we can conceive." He stated patiently, hoping a similar question didn't arise with Silvia when she brought her group through. Pushing the thought aside with a chuckle Caden continued with his response. "Similarly, it is why we'll be training with Silv's group as well. Some missions might prove to be too risky for one team alone, so getting to know the whole group would be beneficial if nothing else. Our team is pretty hands on if I remember abilities correctly. Let's see; we have Speedy Gonzales over here, a sponge (able to absorb and assimilate any material she comes into contact with), your incredible strength, Spock with his mind meld/memory manipulation trick and some guy whose ability I still don't get. Apparently he's good with any blade he picks up, but he's also super strong so I guess that counts. As for me I have a certain intuition when it comes to battle. A sense of the near future that helps me avoid getting hit when I don't want to be."

So his explanation of everyone's abilities could have been a little more professional... But that wasn't really his style. If anyone was curious or couldn't remember they'd be able to look it up from a list the director had compiled for each of them. Eager to move on, Caden linked his hands behind his head. "This is mostly work, some play... But who wants to see the room completely dedicated to relaxing?" If Caden had timed his tour correctly, his group would be passing through the rec room at the same time as Silv's group, a moment for him to check up on the kid to make sure she hadn't killed anyone she wasn't supposed to.

Silvia seemed to space out for a few moments, viewing the camera feed from the training wing to keep tabs on Caden and his group. The man was known for causing trouble a lot of the time, it wouldn't do to have him corrupting his charges. Returning her attention to her own group she announced their departure from the sleeping quarters. "If you've noticed the layout of the floor, we've walked around the outside of a circle with a couple of rooms and halls branching out away from the center... But located on the other side of the inner wall is your recreational room. Books, video games, board games, music, movies, tv... Most things you can think of can be found in there, large enough that there are separate rooms to keep from clashing with others volume wise." She began walking toward one of many entrances to the rec room, wondering what the thing looked like. Due to her preference for working out, Silvia hadn't had actually stepped foot inside the room yet despite having stayed in the facility for quite a while before the Guardians.
Nova nodded silently, NAIL was the type of organization to conduct a cover-up on such a grand scale. What didn't make sense was why they were continuing to keep important information from the agents on the cases involving the substance. Sometimes their red tape drove Nova up a wall, luckily she knew someone who either had some answers or a way to find them. "I'm a lot smarter than people give me credit for. I have a much higher IQ than your average lackey." She retorted with an innocent smirk. Remaining at her spot on the couch, Nova watched with slight amusement as Alexis retrieved her weapons from the cabinet like one of those movie spies at a safe house. If she thought about it, all the agents exhibited at least one stereotype or another... After all, they weren't called stereotypes for no reason.

"No, they don't do they? I guess that means I'll have to be extra careful... Don't worry, I'll keep you updated on their movements, so go take care of our infestation." She responded, mimicking Alexis' mock-salute before nodding her acknowledgement of the arrival of her bike. As soon as the door had clicked shut, Nova pulled out her phone and dialed her brother's number, the man answering with more or less annoyed hello. "You could try to sound a little happier to hear from me."

"I think I've had about as much of your shenanigans as I can take for one day." He smirked as he walked down the streets of the city, phone to ear and backpack slung over his shoulder.

"That sounds like a personal problem, and I suggest you get used to it... Something tells me we're going to be seeing a lot more of each other quite soon. I need you to listen to me very closely, I'm about to ask you to do something that I know you won't like but it's important." She waited a moment, taking Caden's sigh as a sign to continue. "I need you to look into this Blood Eye Crystal, or whatever it is, for me."

~~~
Caden almost tripped upon hearing his sister's request, looking around him reflexively before stepping off into a side alley for some privacy. "Do you even know what it is that you're asking me to do? That information is locked down under the highest priority there is."
"Yeah, I get that but this could mean the difference between the life and death of this city... And not to be dramatic but possibly the world." Caden pressed his back up against the wall, pinching the bridge of his nose in thought.
"Fine, let's say I can get this info for you... Why do you even want it, the Flashbang case has been handled."
"That's just the thing, it occurred to me during a conversation with Alexis that something like this doesn't just happen all of a sudden. Just think about it, Flashbang was just some angry clerk taking revenge for being fired so how did he know what those crystals were capable of upon ingestion?" Caden fell silent in thought, grimacing as he could feel Nova's triumphant smirk.
"Fine, you've got a point but you owe me one for this. I'll do some digging into the topic if for nothing else but to keep you from moving in too soon. Be careful tailing these guys, if Flashbang was an amateur I'd hate to see what the professionals look like."
[color7bcdc8]"Thanks, I really do owe you one. And don't worry, I can handle myself. Be sure to forward your findings to Agent Alexis Chandle as well, she'll be interested to see what you come up with. Good luck!"[/color] She chimed before hanging up, Caden grumbling as he made his way to a local library to conduct his research.
Rinsing the coffee cup in the sink, Nova jogged out the door and down the stairs to where her beloved motorcycle was waiting for her. "Thank you Alexis." She mumbled as she uploaded the live feed to her helmet and revved the engine. Waving goodbye to the polite doorman, Nova took off down the street at high speeds, simply enjoying the thrill of the ride. She wanted to get closer to the thugs position, but she made sure to stay far enough away that they would never know she was in the area. All that was left was their friend to show up, then the party could really start. While she waited, she decided to send out an ambiguous signal for the vigilante that had tipped her and Alexis off to the thugs. She had a lot of faith in Caden's abilities to find information when he wanted to, but he was never really the rule breaker. Eventually his work conscious would get the better of him and he'd back down, leaving her without the information she needed... Better to have all her bases covered than to go in blind. "Come on Robin Hood, where are you when I actually want to see you?"
@Gurren1@Jinxer@Inertia
I was waiting for some kind of a response from Adrian (because Caden is an asshole to his fellow cabin mates)... But I can post again if that means kicking this back into motion.
Sorry guys, been distracted. I'll have a post up by tonight.
Torin; Sister Bride: Raya T'mivus
Kasari shook her head slowly as she picked at a couple of fruits still left on her plate. "Unfortunately they're in a much worse position than that. I used to live in the plains that run along the southern border." With this announcement, it was inevitable that the troops stationed along that border would be retreating home earnestly leaving her friends and family wide open to attack from any country willing to risk competition with the Drakken for Gemminia. The thoughts made her blood run cold, a feeling she had never known in her life yet could not find her way out of in that moment. It seemed her sister wife had lost her appetite as well, not surprising considering the circumstances, but the real surprise came from Torin. The man stood from his place at the table and announced his departure, Kasari's confusion mixing with her relief as she stood as well.
She waited patiently as Torin briefly conversed with his sister and a guard, watching with interest as the guard sat beside Tyrai at the table... Their customs would never cease to surprise her. She easily kept pace with Torin as they made their way to the chambers designated for the distinguished guests, most of whom were still left down in the dining hall enjoying themselves. As the group arrived at their new room, Kasari almost reached out reflexively to keep Torin from running into the chair, but it seemed as if he'd sensed it before coming to a stop. She couldn't figure out how, but it felt like his gaze was everywhere at once, taking in the room without actual sight. Then the thought struck her, Drakken were blessed with control over two elements not just one like the Gemminites. A fire wielder as well as an air. That is a dangerous combination. She thought to herself, taking a seat close to the flames for comfort. After everything she had learned about the Drakken from her parents and village elders, kindness or anything of the like had never once been mentioned. Perhaps Torin's actions were out of pity for the two girls so far from home, but that did not matter. It was more than most other Drakken would think to allow that Kasari could not read it any other way but kindness. Wiping away the stray tear falling from her face, she stood and approached the paper. Fire Gems weren't known for their literacy but her father had taught her enough to be able to write a simple letter, a skill she had never appreciated until now. As the smoke filled the room, Kasari wrote to her family with every prayer in her mind that it would reach them. Her letter detailed a safe journey, a strong yet kind husband and a sweet earth Gem to share her sorrows with. Before signing it she warned them of the immanent dangers despite the fact that it might not reach them at all, let alone in time for them to evacuate to safer grounds.
"Being able to write to them at all is enough, thank you." It was in that moment Kasari found enough strength to smile, even just a little bit not matter if it could not be seen. Kasari wished that they could have stayed in the mountainous border for a few days longer, soaking in what would be the last they would ever see of home. But her husband's wishes were law to a Gem, especially the first of many conquered rather than diplomatically married. Kasari had much confusion to sort through, but she would act in a way that gave her as much time as possible to sort through it, after all she wasn't suicidal... at least not currently.
I'll get a post up in the morning. ^.^
Torin Hellsong; Sister-Bride to Raya T'mivus
Kasari wasn't sure what she was expecting from Torin; harsh words, a dismissive attitude, or perhaps even a physical response as it was clear many other Drakken used... But whatever it was that ran through the Gem's mind, it wasn't what she received. Torin's response was cold and distant, insulting but impersonally, powerful and yet lenient. It was a mild response to such a bold question, but the delivery had her fuming by the end. She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was something about the way he scolded her that irritated her, like he viewed her as nothing but a child. The air around her began to heat up noticeably in her silent rage, her eyes narrowed at the blind man as she sat back in her chair. She caught Raya's gaze, a smile in her eyes that made Kasari feel better despite having been so reckless... Taking a deep breath, Kasari turned her attention to the various foods that were pouring into the room. She helped herself to more exotic fruits as well as the meats and wine made available to the group. Out of the corner of her eye Kasari watched as Torin spoke quietly to Raya, the pair discussing the arrival of a Gem as she gathered from following Raya's gaze. There was something off about her, being covered in blood. It didn't matter whose blood it was, the sight would have been unnatural in everyway. Even fire Gems like herself weren't known to harm others unless it was absolutely necessary, which unbeknownst to her would become the case very, very soon.
Just beyond Torin and Raya was Kasari's new sister-in-law, standing from her seat in an imposing way, her attention on a bride belonging to a very important Drakken lord. Their voices weren't raised much, so hearing them over the drunken chatter wasn't an option for the girl seated so far from the action... But whatever had transpired, it was long forgotten by Kasari as a guard approached the Drakken. Something about his sudden appearance put Kasari off, her heart skipping a beat nervously as she began running possible scenarios through her head. Nothing she had imagined could have prepared her for the news the Drakken shared, a war between the most barbaric and peaceful races in all of creation. Even worse, he essentially blamed it on them. Kasari's heart dropped to her stomach, the air seeming to slip away from her reach as she stared at the table before her. She could hear Torin's instructions in her ear, Kasari fighting to do as she was told so as not to push her luck any farther... But it was an incredibly difficult battle. The air around her increased in temperature, beads of sweat forming on the skins of those sitting directly next to her. She didn't even notice her fork turning to putty in her hand as her mind raced. Images of her friends and family back home flashed through her mind, the lush fields she had played in turning to deserts as she imagined what toll a war would take on them. Despite her mind being in shock, her facial expression turned to that of hatred as each of her thoughts turned darker and darker. It was probably the closest any Gem had looked to murderous, her heart racing as she failed to find oxygen in her breaths. Surprisingly enough Kasari managed to keep herself from storming from the room (or at least attempting to), and even resorted to biting the inside of her cheek to keep from speaking out, as she knew her husband would disapprove of. As the taste of her own blood mixed with the bile in her throat, Kasari found words to express herself without causing a scene. "I think I'm going to be sick." She hissed as she snatched up her goblet of wine and drained it, filling it up before draining it completely once more.
After a few moments Kasari's head began to buzz pleasantly, the alcohol doing its job in numbing her slightly. "I'm sorry, M'lord..." She sighed unconsciously, finally noticing the ruined fork in her closed fist. Opening her hand slowly, she winced at the imprint left behind by the object. It wasn't permanent and would fade with some time, but in her moment of pain her own fire had turned on her. Ashamed of herself Kasari placed the broken utensil down on the table and clasped her hands in her lap, comforted to feel the small lizard still curled up unaffected by the ensuing chaos around him.
Alright guys I will get a post in a few!
Your "few"s take foreeeeeeever! XD Just kidding, ignore me. It's 2 am and I'm not asleep, which means incredibly weird or random comments from me... Like right now. Soooo, how is everyone? ^.^
Sorry guys! I have been hooked up on moving and I am just now getting internet!
Other than that...I don't know how to enter the RP, other than that deep description the gods from above gave me. Am I late or am I there and stalking the crazy shit out of everyone?
XD Well, the tours have already started so any character not there already is late to the party... You're not the only one by the way, so don't worry about it. Feel free to write about whatever reason your character would be late (I can help you collab something over PM if you'd like), and/or upon arriving at last some nice woman in a lab coat would direct your character to where their team is along their tour.
Welcome back to the internet by the way. How did your move go? Is this moving to a new house or is this a school related move?
