Character: Captain Quinton Church

Main Character: Quinton

Captain of the ship The Silver Wing

Weather the Storm

A captain stood at the helm of The Silver Wing, a sturdy ship that had weathered many storms. The evening sun cast long shadows across the deck, the light glinting off the polished wood. Quinton, a young man in his late twenties, had inherited the ship from his father, and though he was still learning the intricacies of command, he wore the mantle of responsibility well. His brown hair, streaked with sun-bleached highlights, was tied back, and his sea-torn blue eyes scanned the bustling activity below.

Dockhands and crew members scurried about, loading provisions into the cargo hold. Barrels of fresh water, crates of food, and bundles of blankets were carefully stowed away. The ship was to embark on a journey that would take them along the coast of the continent of Elandria, a place of ancient forests, towering mountains, and enough dangers to make plenty of crew uncertain.

This voyage, however, was unlike any other. The Silver Wing's passengers were not just humans, but among their charters they had elves—ethereal beings with an air of mystery about them. While many say having them onboard made for ill fortunate the time were what they were and Quinton was not one to fall victim to bigotry fueled rumors. The elves were leaving their forest home, seeking a new land across the sea. They had chosen Quinton ship for the journey, trusting him to guide them safely. Even if he was the only one to accept that in itself was still a choice.

Quinton descended from the helm, his boots thudding softly against the wooden steps. As he walked across the deck, he caught sight of some of his crew. "Even heads in preparation." He said as they nodded. Like his father Quinton believed the most important day of a voyage was the day before you set out. This is where mistakes could cause failure or worst.

As night began to fall, the ship came alive with the glow of lanterns. As was custom Quinton let his crew go ashore for some final revelry and whatnot. His own walkthrough of the ship had past muster. He knew in letting them leave a handful would not return, but this was the secret his father pasted down. Better a man get shaky feet on land in a bar than in a storm at sea.

Quinton made his way back to the helm, where his first mate, a burly man named Garrick, awaited him. “The ship’s ready, Captain,” Garrick reported, his voice gruff but steady. “We can set sail on good terms and wind tomorrow.”

Quinton nodded, feeling a mix of anticipation and resolve. This journey was more than just a passage along the coast; it was a voyage into the unknown, where danger and discovery awaited. Most ships had called it the never-ending coast, but plenty of stories had come back from failed voyages. The Captain didn't let those stories take port in his mind so he instead simply nodded to the trusted sailor and let him excuse himself.

"One thing Garrick." He said.

"Captain?" He replied quickly.

"Some of our passangers might want to board this evening to help get their sea legs. When you make shore feel free to inform our guild that if anyone would like to board this evening instead of tomorrow they are welcomed to."

"Yes Captain." Garrick quickly made his way to another boat about to leave and headed to port.
The pirate froze as the cold edge of the dagger pressed against his throat, his breath hitching in surprise. A tense silence fell over the deck, the other pirates halting their tasks, their eyes snapping toward the scene unfolding before them. The only sound that could cut through the rain and ocean was the crackling of the burning ship in the distance, its flames licking the sky, reflected in the dark waters around them.

Before anyone could move a steady voice made a presence known from the higher deck. "Lower the weapon, Your Highness." The crowd parted, and Captain Church stepped forward, his expression calm and almost indifferent. He moved with the normal confidence of a man who had put more steps to a boat than land.

The captain then saw the woman tighten her grip on the blade. The captain’s eyes narrowed, but he remained unfazed. "You think because you’ve managed to capture one man, you hold some sort of leverage? That this,"—he gestured towards the dagger at his man's throat—"gives you power to negotiate?"

Oliver Church shook his head, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "You’re wrong, princess. Killing him won’t change anything. In fact, it will in theory save one of your two companions. We packed enough for one extra passenger and that seat already has your name on it.”

He took a deliberate step closer, his gaze never leaving hers. "You see, you’re not the first noble to think a blade in hand makes them invincible, though you are the first princess. But out here, in the dark, far from your kingdom’s walls, you’ll find that strength isn’t measured by how many lives you can take. It’s in how you keep yours, and those who depend on you, safe."

Captain Church's voice softened, though it lost none of its authority. "Now, you have a choice. You can go down this path and lose what little support you have around you. Or you can put down the dagger, and we can talk. Perhaps there’s another way for you to survive this night. But it starts with you realizing that you’re not in control here no matter what blade you bare."

Looking forward to chatting it up!
Hello fellow Role Players!

I am in the mood for a nice long 1x1 role play or two. I am already enjoying one but usually budget my time to be a part of between 3 and 4.

I love a slow burn romantic role play. I am not averse to most types of pairings, but heavy Violent relationships are not always my cup of tea.

I am wondering if there is anyone out there looking to maybe get some creative words going and see if we can't make something happen. I don't need the role play to be smut or extend into any sort of explicit scenes (I am not against it, but I want to make sure people know that isn't anything like an expectation/requirement.)

If you have questions or an idea, feel free to reach out here or via PM to coordinate with me.

I would consider myself a high casual to advanced role player who is comfortable taking on multiple characters and storylines. I am most comfortable playing a male for the main character while comfortable playing both genders for side characters.

I am collaborative, so I enjoy talking some ideas out and sometimes surprising my role play partner. The dance of creative writing is so much fun!

EDIT: Recently I came up with a plot prompt I am very interested in trying. Read below!

Hey welcome welcome! I think we might be aligned in interests so I sent over a discord add. I have been looking for a medieval period piece role play.
Addition Information About The Academy Program

REDACTED - Alexander Koral - Tactical & Support Training

REDACTED - Rose Greenhow - Diplomacy and Negotiation Training

Facilities / Living Quarters

The Academy Classroom - At this location all pre and post mission briefs are held. Specific lectures also happen here as well as some communication with Verita.

Student Apartment Complex - All Academy students are housed in a single London Flat code named 'Black Box' but more often referred to as the 'shoe box'. The location has several safe rooms along with a full operations and support room, personal bedrooms and bathrooms for every occupant along with an indoor pool and gym facilities.

Oxford, UK - Hide in plain sight is a common phrase in the spy world. What better place to hide a secret spy program then at a city with over 40,000 students in it. Located an hour away from London by train the city is vibrant, young, and green. With several organizations that unknowingly partner with Verita.

The Academy 'Syllabus'

Training - Everything your sponsor to The Academy made you do led up to surviving The Academy training. Surprise exercise on and off campus are a regular occurrence. The only options besides keeping up is to fail and to do so is not an option. There is more than one way to succeed.

Exams - Exams are delivered in a myriad of ways that seem to only be limited by the training officers imagination. The only consistency is that Exams actually mean live mission exercise. Simply take a tour of a countries embassy all the way to assist with the extraction of an asset are a few examples of previous exams.

REDACTED Test - Very little is known about a students REDACTED test. What is known is that it is the most dangerous task assigned in The Academy with numinous students being labeled MIA or worse.

Final Report - Before a student is confirmed to have graduated they must undergo a Final Report debrief of their REDACTED test and entire time at The Academy. This is set to be the most comprehensive meeting of an agents life even outdoing a retirement debrief. Reviewing everything from the students background and actions to that of their contacts and family members.

Graduation - Upon graduation a student from the Academy is granted full membership into the ranks of Verita and assigned to a director of a specific region or program. During the graduation ceremony a student is given their formal code name.
Welcome REDACTED,

It is our pleasure to inform you that you have been formally accepted into The Academy program. Over 15 years ago REDACTED contacted your family and the agreement to have you join the ranks was made. They then began to train you into what you are today. Confirmed REDACTED, REDACTED, and REDACTED, your skills are impressive, and we hope you look forward to putting them to practical use.

Always Watching,

REDACTED

The Verità is an intelligence organization that can trace its history back to the start of the Cold War when, after decades of bloodshed members of the intelligence community from all over the world realized the rapidly changing world and power structures could mean disaster if proper intelligence wasn’t used to guide national decisions. Secretly members of Soviet, Allied, and independent countries began to meet and created a shadow group know The Verità.

First cooked up as an idea following the creation of the Five Eyes Agreement, Verita began as an idea, but quickly gaining momentum. It was first heavily aligned with Western Powers and was soon obvious that if it wasn't a global intelligence network it would be part of the problem. Friends and foes alike quickly drew new battlegrounds with intelligence and espionage being the modern spoils of war. As the cold war began to slow the new threat to peace quickly turned to the rapidly changing trials of terrorism and unchecked powers. Needing to adapt to these new methods a secondary program was established called The Academy in 1972.

This program has the sons and daughters of current intelligence members recruited through their parents at a young age for a mentorship of sorts. If the family agrees the child is required to be intensively trained by their parents until they graduate college at which time they are confirmed as graduate students at the University of Oxford. While studying as a full-time student each member of the program will be putting their families training to the test with live missions. The expectations of this are to cultivate the next generation of intelligence assets for The Verita to deploy against known and unknown threats.

With the backstory of the organization getting some more meat on its bones I am looking forward to opening this role play up for applications. I am unsure how many people I am going to accept in this role play. I have thoughts, if there is enough interest, in compartmentalizing two role plays if there is enough interest so, please do not fear an overly populated interest / application pool as there might be a plan for that. (Fingers Crossed!)

One thing I wanted to go into more detail on is my goal for this role play. A fun spy thriller is the theme I am going for; however, please think more of the current Bond sort of theme where it is all that, but the cost is very much real. Your characters have yet to kill anyone, but this role play will put them indirectly or sometimes directly on that path. Please feel free to explore this.

Each of those wishing to join this role play will be playing as a new member of the 2025 class. There will be a few guidelines that I will lay out as far as character history and whatnot. Below is the character sheet you will need to fill out to apply to join. Please review and apply by sending me a completed sheet via a Private Message. Should you have any questions I am free to answer them!

I would be interested in the Pirates - past or future * (I have a plot for both time eras) stories. I am interested in both so sharing them both would be great!
