History Fact: Caterina Sforza was a complete badass, who whilst under siege made a point of bombarding the houses of her enemies from the walls of her castle.

Depending on how advanced their society/lands are and how far along they are would be a couple of the subjects i need too factor in.

Because if you have a demon lord, who is well known and is actively ..let's say converting, villages too his cause, then he would be well known, if not feared by other lands, and hated by most demons. (i mean, i have an idea brewing too make it work, but that's just something i had too point out XD: )

That's actually all i can think about really, but i hope you don't mind if i think of other questions and what not.

I love questions actually, it helps strengthen the concept and helps it to fit the world. I'm sort of drawing inspiration, right now, from Sesshomaru, considering what this RPG is based off of-his role, not so much his personality. An enemy, or at least, antagonist, but not one without honor, and one with understandable motives.

Indeed, I'm considering that, perhaps what brought about his current position, his current role, is being treated for injuries, effectively helpless, by the monks of a certain sect. Whose beliefs he ends up adopting, or at least admiring. So the mention of conversion is quite fitting.

It also happens to fit excellently in Inuyasha tradition.

....

heck, could even make him a relation to the Demon Lord half of the pairing to complete the picture. :p

And yeah, I expect he would be feared-the Ikko-Ikki certainly didn't put the lords of the historical Japan at ease!
@Ophidian

I, believe i understand yer point.
The antagonist, isn't really evil, more so just out for himself in a sense. He isn't targeting anyone, but if anyone happens too get in his way of his idea they become a target.

I hope i'm correct, although there's a good chance your character maybe viewed as evil, being a demon lord in general

Yes, that would be the gist of it-though, in this case he'd be out for a cause, rather then himself, but the same logic applies.

If you think it'd add to the story, I'll get a CS worked up.
@Sketcher O.O...I uh, I can't understand Japanese.

I think they said "my hovercraft is full of eels."

Please, if there are any questions feel free too ask :3

Firstly, thank you for the response.

I think I'll pitch the concept (which has rapidly taken on a life of it's own and is scaring me, just a tad, because of that). The main role of these lords and ladies are, as I understand it, to challenge the demon lord and priestess, and force unity. With that in mind, there are many types of challenges-martial, physical, challenges to bloodline, politics...the like.

But a challenge to morality is something I'd be most interested in, not in the sense of temptation precisely-but what fascinated me about the Ikko-Ikki was the challenge they posed, historically to the system-a different ideal of religion, a different ideal of government and lord-peasant relations. Even if their portrayal in media is somewhat inaccurate.

So ideally, this lord would pose the same kind of challenge-an enemy to the established practices and governments of the land-meaning he has reason to oppose the demon lord half of the priestess/demon lord pairing and to target them-a lord's a lord, a lord after all. But by the same token, he'd likely be opposing the other demon lords as well-opening up possible "enemy mine" situations with the main pairing-be it with this lord or against him.

Basically, someone in the villain's role who is not, in and of himself, villainous. Who challenges the heroes both physically, in battle, politically, as he opposes the system that the Demon Lord part of the pairing is related too, or at least, born of, and finally, morally and ethically-he's not a bad man, but one they'll still end up fighting, possibly killing. Which, in and of itself, brings sorrow to the story, and could strengthen or weaken the bond between the main pairing accordingly.

Hope I'm making sense.
I might be interested, I'm only really playing one RPG on site right now, some additional commitment might serve to keep me around a bit more...which would help my posting habits.

To further explain my reasoning, the only anime I ever really watched was Inuyasha...so some good memories there as well. What roles are still open? Going over the thread, it seems...somewhat confused.

My initial thought is an unconventional demon lord:

Perhaps leading/subscribing to a sect based off the historical Ikko-Ikki.
Why yes, Jinx can be remarkably blind to life options that do not involve crime.

why do you ask.
@Ninian
Jinx

“So. You can do the adorable kicked puppy thing, and you have enough firepower to impress an army group. These are a few of my favorite things~”

Right. Less flirting. More booking it. Jinx didn’t waste any time at that-granted Pent was just a tad bit heavier than his normal fare-paintings, diamonds, the like...that didn’t quite measure up. Closest thing was juvenile Aerodactyl skeleton...and he hadn’t had to worry that much about security then.

Locking them in an elevator tended to have that effect. Lost in these fond memories, he operated more or less entirely on instinct from there on out-going almost entirely silent. Dodge. Weave. Double back. Plant evidence for false leads. The normal stuff.

Jinx hazarded a glance behind him. No pursuit. Good. That...had gotten a bit more exciting than he’d thought. Also incurred a little

“Well.” Jinx chirped, finally. “That was fun.” A sly look crossed his face then. “And I gotta say, you were pretty quick to cross over to the fun side of the law. I like that. You’ve got good instincts! And that trick with the staff was...well, if that thing was in a museum, I’d probably be planning the heist right now.”

A brief look of concern flashed across Jinx’s face, as he realized the implications of the last statement. “Not. That uh, I’d steal it from you. You did me a solid. Plus, you know, you kinda look like a kicked puppy.” Which was to say, kinda adorable.

….He had his weaknesses. “Anyway. If you don’t want the heat, feel free to say I dunno, I tried to kidnap you or somethin’, not like that’ll add too many years to the sentence they’d be looking to pin on me.” Jinx paused again. “Least I can do. That really made up for that boring flight over. Snorefest. Lemme tell you.”

This was how the creature known as Jinx attempted to make small talk.

To say it had not evolved for this purpose was putting it lightly.

And of course, Jinx being...Jinx, the fact he might have been able to get medical assistance from the airport without sending a larceny prone hellhound out of course, never entered his mind.

“And hey, if the heat’s not a problem, I’m in the market for a partner in crime. Enhance the brand. You know.” He waved his nonchalantly. “Expand. Diversify.”

XD

As far as Ghost-types go, the only thing I can remember is when I'm pretty sure Ash literally died, and the Haunter pulled him from his body and had fun, before reviving him somehow. If you remember which episode or can find something, we can go with it. I can't recall it though.

I rewatched the episode.

And then the next...

and the next.

Child reeeeeeeeeeee

Ahem.

I've got something else worked out, turns out you had to be dead, you were right.

@Ninian

First, Pent is absolutely adorable.

....Jinx literally can't leave him behind now.

Way too much like kicking a puppy.

A sad limping puppy.

You should know that.

Second, I've got a post in the works. I just have a question: in the anime, if I recall, ghost Pokemon had the ability to make other incorporeal, but I might be misremembering, and I don't wanna go any further before I'm sure-you recall anything like that?
@Ninian
Jinx

Jinx blinked rapidly, he basically had two settings as a human being-looking out for his own and doing his best to troll reality.

Pent’s (possibly drugged out) selfless altruism did not compute, for obvious reasons. “.....I uh. Uh.” His normal devil-may-care eloquence was also lost to him, as his mind struggled to assimilate the long forgotten concept.

He defaulted to unsubtle flirting after a few moments of the mental equivalent of a blue error screen. “Sorry. Thief. You know. Kinda used to be chased by the boys in blue. Don’t worry.” Aaaaand now the smirk. “Besides. I don’t like sharing shiny things I pick up. Least of all with a buncha rent-a-cops. Besides. We’ve got some experience with the whole thing.” He threw a wink at Houndoom, who was currently sizing up a promising exit.

Door. Look pretty well made but….

As if on cue, Houndoom threw his weight at one of the definitely-not-be-used-by-civilians-normally doors, the hinges held. Reinforced then. Lovely. The canine pokemon growled, evidently taking the sturdy construction of the door as a personal insult.

“....So I’m gonna guess none of your friends know teleport huh?”
