Minor announcement.

I'm probably not going to be playing in this RPG, to put it lightly, I don't really agree with the direction some parts of the playerbase are going in, so I'm taking my leave of playing the game proper-because I don't have the fantastical dictatorial power needed to make people do what I want.

However, I'm staying on as Co-GM to help Duck run the place, with the idea being that, not having any skin in the game, I'll basically be uber-unbiased.

This has been a minor announcement. You may now return to your petty meaningless lives*.

Oh, and I've alresdy decided that there will be a zepplin trade route from Alfrasia, to Not-Hong-Kong, and then to Not-China. Full of opiates, because why change a good thing?

I've been considering a state-run aircraft based courier service for my own nation-my reasoning being Zaskar is a big place, and markedly less "civilized" in the sense of not having to worry about things like SPIDER WASPS.

And also, perhaps, less urbanized in general, and more scattered. So an aircraft based mail service makes remarkable sense-it's a good stopgap, and it'd be fairly fast.

Also been tossing around some of the island included in Zaskar's claim being, officially, "free ports" under Zaskar's protection. Technically indepedent.

So, of course, Zaskar knows nothing about the pirates supposedly operating out of these ports and preying upon imperial shipping.

Seriously though, the EIC had the right idea: take a country over, trade with the new English-friendly leadership, make litteral tons of moolah. I mean, sure it screwed a lot of countries overin the long run, but hey, what does the Empire care?

An interesting break from the British Empire, all in all, if I am reading your intent right. The British Empire is sometimes called "an empire founded in a bout of absent-mindedness", and emerged not so much as a deliberate objective, but more organically. Your own Empire seems to have a very deliberate and very clear "We want an Empire and we want it now" vibe.

It makes me wonder how else their society/history breaks from their inspiration.

I must ask then, what sort of feel are you going for, in terms of systems of governance? I know you've mentioned a queen, and I get the feeling the government is an absolutist one. Is this accurate?
