| NAME |Markus Grevian
| PROFESSION |Inquisitorial Acolyte
| AGE |22 Standard Years
| SKILLS |- Mind Reading - Markus can listen in to the surface thoughts of anyone he concentrates on. He can acurrately detect lies and read the intentions of non-psykers.
- Sense Presence - Markus can percieve the life forces around him, allowing him to tell their location and health status, pending distance and interference. With concentration and familiarity, he can use this ability to help track a specific individual.
- Warp Sensitive - Any recent use of psychic power or weakness in the materium stands out to Markus. He can tell if psychic abilities are being used nearby and if another person is also a psyker.
- Precognition - Markus has the gift of being able to glimpse a ways into the immediate future. Sometimes he gets a flash of warning right in the nick of time, allowing him to dodge things no one else would have been able to. This ability has also improved his aim when using his laspistol, as he can sometimes see where the enemy will move to. Drawing on more power, and with effort, he can attempt to look deeper into the future, but things get fuzzier the farther out they are.
- Far Sight - This is the ability to transfer consciousness and awareness to another location, up to several kilometers away.
- Personal Augury - Use of the Emperor's Tarot and the ability to do psychic readings for people.
- Soul Sight - Allows detection of a person's spiritual shadow in the warp, ie their aura. Markus can detect strong emotions easily and judge an individuals strength of will.
- Limited Telekinesis - Can lift and move objects, pending how much willpower he can put into it. Can do telekinetic shields.
- Limited Healing - Although draining, Markus can stop bleeding and knit freshly wounded flesh back together. He cannot remove bullets or heal burned flesh.
- Suggestion - A minor influence on a person's inclinations.
- Forget Me - With little effort, Markus can mentally affect others around him who are not particularly paying attention, causing them not to notice or remember seeing him. This allows him to move as if invisible even through crowds.
- Resistance - Markus can use his power to resist other psykers' affects on him.
| FLAWS |- Warp Perils - Sometimes, weird things just happen around Markus. A glass might break, there could be a weird sound, a chill runs up your spine... Don't worry. He's trained enough that nothing 'bad' should happen.
- Not a Fighter - Although he's been through undoubtedly harsh mental training, Markus has relatively poor martial skills. Aside from guns, he's kinda helpless.
- Youth - Markus' understanding of the universe is limited to what he's been taught. He's often a subordinate due to his naivete. There is much he has yet to learn.
- Beaten Down - Markus has problems challenging authority. He is owned and controlled by his masters on a mental and emotional level. Perfectly obedient, he is the tool he was crafted to be. Very loyal.
- Abomination - Sure he's useful to the Imperium, but he's really a degenerate mutant who should burned out to fuel the Astronomicon. Markus has a low sense of self worth knowing what he is.
| EQUIPMENT |- Laspistol - As the name implies.
- Focus Staff - Helpful for controlling psychic energies.
- Inquisitorial Seal - Not a rosette, yet important for identifying himself when necessary.
| BIOGRAPHY |Only 12 years old, Markus was ostracized from his people on a feral world in the Segmentum Obscuris for having "witch blood" in his veins. He remembers desperately trying to regain acceptance, not understanding his crimes, but was quickly taken away by strangers in black. Unbeknowest to Markus, his home was a space marine recruiting world, watched intently by the Imperium. The Astra Telepathica was immediately notified. They had specific interest in psykers who manifested their abilities at such a young age. Markus never made Astartes Librarian, but he dodged execution and was admitted into the Scholastica Psycana, where he could be easily molded and put to good use.
During his education and training, Markus was made distinctly aware of his condition and why he had been a danger to his own people on his homeworld. Youthful and innocent, he swallowed everything they fed him, becoming greatly humbled and driven to make up for his sinful nature with devout service.
It was the quality of his psychic abilities that drew the Inquisition to him. What more could they have wanted in their perpetual hunt for heresy than a properly groomed and loyal mindreader? His other abilies would prove useful as well, if he could be trusted. They knew Markus would yet need a lot of work. He was grilled, tested, strained by interrogation, and passed, but only time would tell if he truly believed in the cause of such righteous duty.
