"Morpheus Drinkin' a 40 in a death basket." — Hannibal Burress
Appearance
Marcella stands around 1.65 meters tall and has a slender figure, not too different from most members of the Hades family. People tend to also point out that she is short, just like Napoleon. She sighs a lot. She is typically seen having loose curls in her long black hair and her narrow eyes tend to give her a cold case of RBF (Resting Bitch Face). She has rather toned calves from hitchhiking for so long (nearly 2 years), and all things considered she’s in great shape, but she’d never overpower an Ares kid, even if Jonas would love to see her try. She is typically seen with a group of people, she doesn’t dig the whole solitude thing after spending so much time in foreign countries.
Marcella wears designer everything. Having the infinite money glitch in life makes it rather easy to accomplish buying only designer clothes. She sometimes wears a scarf, however she realizes that in a scuffle that may not be the best of ideas. Thusly she can typically be found in either a summer dress, or rather form fitting clothes. The most distinctive thing about Marcella’s attire is that she wears an absurd amount of jewelry. This is so that she can use it in combat should she need a projectile and not have time to dig one out of the ground. Typically speaking this is a defensive clothing choice it will usually be her rings first, then earrings and finally her necklace. She also keeps a few pendants and other types of jewelry on her person in case of emergencies.

✔ Content ✔ Laid Back ✔ Fabulous ✔ Charismatic ✖ Will punch a motherfucker ✖ Idiot ✖ Uninspired ✖ Virgin
Despite most of her surroundings and the wishes of those around her, Marcella just can’t be bothered to give a damn about most things. She doesn’t often try her hardest, nor does she fear failure. She’d rather be out and experiencing life in almost all situations, consequences be damned. This has caused her to at somewhat hedonistic at times, even down right lazy. However, she still has it within herself to try. The catch is, since Marcella doesn’t care about most situations she finds herself in, she uses her friends opinions. If, for example, Jonas and she were to get into a fight, she’d try to end it quickly. Not because she’d fear for her safety – rather because she knows that her showing off some prowess would make Highwind content.
The exception to this rule, is of course her magnum opus, getting laid. No one with a bod, sense of humour and power over who lives and dies like she has should die without having someone aphro her dite. Marcella’s fear of dying a virgin has many root issues and it may only be presenting itself as a singular problem, but it is clear to most that it is more complicated than that. She wants for closeness with others, sex could be a mean to that end for her. She isn’t sure. Virgin. Of course her current modus operandi hasn’t been as successful, as it turns out welcome mats don’t actually make for the greatest tools of seduction. She thought it was clever. There was nothing else she could grab.
In her spare time Marcella is as laid back as one would expect. She doesn’t feel much compulsion to try too hard so in her spare time she mostly relaxes and comes up with new ways to be as fabulous as she is. It’s hard work being the queen of demigods and the dead, but someone has to do it.

History
All things considered, Marcella may be one of the healthiest demigods around as far as parental relationships go. She grew up going to the underworld as a child and Hades and her mother actually stay in touch, they're kind of pen pals. When she was seven years old it was explained to her what and who she was, her importance to this world. Her father attempted to teach her the ways of the underworld, but because of her being partially raised in the environment all efforts to scare her or jostle the small girl proved largely ineffective.
Her father was her teacher throughout most of her life and he was able to teach her a great deal of things. Even how to instill the fear of death that she did not understand into others. This came along eventually with his most precious ability, literally not figuratively. Hades taught her Ferrokinesis and the ability to pull gems from the ground. He also taught her that with great power, came great responsibility. So reasonably speaking, she considered the fact that she immediately sold millions of dollars’ worth of gems in order to afford brand new designer clothing quite responsible. She was helping the recession, or so she would tell herself as she tried on her new dresses.
She later learned how to make it seem much more natural, she would go diving for buried treasure and strike big every time. At one point, TLC wanted to create a show about her natural talent for hitting it big in the ocean, but she rather rudely declined. Telling them that they weren’t worth her time. They’d get over it eventually.
Marcella decided that money was fine, but it was boring. So she decided to strike it big one last time and go to travel the world. She packed her bags and by the time she was sixteen and could legally qualify for a passport she was off in the world. She started in the Americas, made her way to Europe and by the time she had turned 19 she decided she would end her journey partway through Asia, to leave herself the corners of the world for her next travel. She had decided to attend Olympus Academy, and Hades, the ever-proud father that he was politely told her that it was a shitty idea.
She said fuck it and decided to show up for orientation anyway.

"What do they call the best salesman at a funeral home? The top urner." — Hades
Godly Parent
Hades, King of the Underworld, Wealth, and Dad Jokes.
Relationship With Godly Parent
Hades and Marcella have always had a rather healthy relationship. Typically, she spent weekends in the Underworld when they were free and she would often communicate with her father, whether through carrier pigeon or by Marcella giving the damned a message before allowing their soul onwards to Hades. He even let her judge fifty souls on bring your child to work day when Marcella was 14. That was a good day. For her, not for the souls – unfortunately eternal damnation has a much more interesting process than redemption.
Demigod Abilities
dont kill me lol: As a daughter of Hades, Marcella has divine authority (partially) over death and it’s domain as a state of being. This means many things, primarily she can contact the dead and speak with them, and she’d make a great detective. Another tool however is sensing death, put Marcella in a crowd and she can tell you who is near their death whether it is by the fates will or cancer’s. However, one feature of her necromancy that sets her apart from most children of Hades is her lack of fear towards death, in fact the pure apathy she feels towards it. She is able to instill a distinct fear of death in others, similar to what her father has been known to do. She does this by radiating death and terror to the degree of causing a palpitation of the heart and literally causing people to lose their minds. Those strong of heart and character can of course resist this. Grass at her feet will brown and die, while small animals will also perish. She of course can also summon the dead, skeletons or ghosts typically.
venmo me pls: A form of Ferrokinesis, though many forget that Hades is the god of wealth, Marcella can sense and summon any quantity of precious metals and jewels from under the ground as well as manipulate them. This is how Marcella survived when she decided to hitchhike around the world. This is also the reason for the abnormal amount of jewelry Marcella wears, in order to use it potentially as a weapon if necessary. She can shoot a precious gem as if it were a bullet, the general weakness of this ability though is that she must maintain eye contact on the gem she is manipulating. The only exception is when she is pulling gems from the earth, in which case she must keep two hands firmly planted on the soil and close her eyes – severely limiting the usefulness in the heat of battle.
skeleton key: Her father wasn't willing to give her the key to the underworld, so instead he gave her the key to the rest of it. Pulling from a pocket dimension with a quick turning motion of the hand, Marcella can produce the key made from the the bones of some being long forgotten. The key itself has the ability to shape itself to whatever lock it is placed into, effectively opening any lock. A rather simple and efficient solution to a door she shouldn't be able to enter.
we stan one queen: Fairly unique to Marcella is the affinity for commanding the monsters of the underworld. Perhaps due to the immense amount of time she has spent in her father's domain. She is able to summon and issue commands to all sorts of monsters. To summon these creatures Marcella must open up an entrance to the underworld, the bigger the entrance the more draining for Marcy. As such, a creature as fearsome as Cerberus is rather impossible due to its magnificent size. However, an offspring of Cerberus is certainly an option, size permitted. Should there be an encounter with a monster of some kind that is where this ability will truly shine. She has a divine command over these creatures and could very well be viewed as a queen or princess of monsters.

Appearance
Rhea stands around 1.5m tall and has a fairly fit build. Not quite enough muscle to be deemed athletic but she certainly looks the part of a physically active girl living on a California Beach. Her hair naturally falls into curls but can be straightened with enough patience, its deeper brown shades are entangled around some more sun-softened notes of a caramel brown that matches her skin tone. She has large deep brown eyes, with a typical glimmer of mischief and perhaps a tinge of self-doubt. Her casual dress is usually a loose sweater, or a tank top and jeans whereas she has some summer dresses often supplied by Marcella for the more fanciful gatherings, as few and far between as they are. She can often enough be spotted wearing a green army jacket something ratty and cheap and chocked full of probable nostalgia as it is a men’s large.
Personality
✔Loving✔Warm✔Flirtatious✔Unrelenting ✖Unforgiving ✖Impatient ✖Uninspired✖ Self-Loathing
Rhea is a solid shoe in for ‘mom-friend’ of her group of friends. She is constantly making sure that everyone is okay, that they’re going to be on time for everything. That being said, while she does come across as rather polite, the group she's usually with tends to have a reputation of taking no prisoners. Rhea loves this about them, and is always looking to Dal and Jonas to try and learn more about acting out and being herself. Flirting is fun as fuck and Rhea knows it. She always finds herself lingering a little too long on a touch or a glance. The game of a crush is something that Rhea loves to experience and she is often finding out new ways to play with the hearts of the men and women around her. Rhea tends to go out of her way in order to befriend others. She is always offering little sentiments that can be viewed as a little much by some, but typically dropping off some breakfast and tea to someone’s door in the morning is not completely uncommon. She also tends to swear more than she wishes she did - she always reminds herself not to swear so fucking much, but, well...
She enjoys Disney films, warm tea, and most learning about most aquatic life. One thing she only recently discovered her passion for as well is training. Ever since Jo started to take over her regiment she became fascinated with her own self-improvement. What Rhea doesn’t like is those who act as though being the daughter of Poseidon should afford her some kind of status or title. It pisses her off, as she considers Poseidon to be an almost inconsequential part of her personality and identity. She hates dry heat and would much prefer a rainy day.

History
While Rhea is approaching never talking about her past, it is the driving force of her life. Poseidon meeting her mother was a rather droll engagement. Rhea’s mother was a Canadian woman on vacation in California. One godly thing lead to a slightly less godly part and nine months later, Rhea was born – in Lake Louise, Alberta. It wasn’t the life Poseidon would typically want for a child of his perhaps that is why she was given such a forsaken power. Rhea was a demigod, absolutely, but she also had five siblings who were fully human. They were all older brothers and they treated her equally like solid gold and absolute shit. It just depended if a boy was looking at her that day or not. Luckily for her, the boys weren’t quite aware of her bisexuality so towards her high school years, sleepovers were her escape.
Her mother on the other hand, was a quiet woman. She was a good person who did good work, just not for Rhea. She didn’t have what Rhea needed, answers about her lineage. Many times Rhea had asked about where she came from, why her families signature traits were conclusively lacking in her own face.
It was a rather rainy day, looking back on it, most likely due to Rhea. She asked to see her father, to speak with him, and her mother told her to try and go for a swim, see if he would be found in the suboptimal temperatures of Lake Louise. To this day Rhea still isn’t sure whether or not her mother knew that the temperature of water was largely unimportant to Rhea’s demigod physiology and that she could easily survive underwater. So she said okay.
Rhea trudged out in the blisteringly rain, which actually was cold due to the wind. She reached the beach and stopped. She glanced out at the rain smashing into the lake before she decided it was time to meet her father. To put an end to so many questions at once, it was both exhilarating and absolutely horrific at the same time. Yet she still found herself excited. It didn’t last long however. She got into the water and all seemed well. She was embraced by the water seemingly at home for perhaps the first time in her life. She felt the warmth of the impossible lake and once she was fully inside, she did not feel the strain to breathe. Instead she found herself dreading the next time her lungs would have to inhale the oxygen that awaited her above the surface. Strangely enough she felt more at home than ever before. But perhaps that wasn’t so strange as much as it was a false sign of hope.
False indeed it was, before long, after the wonderment of the lake ceased to bemuse her mind grew silent. Then it called out for Poseidon the mightiest of… Father. She just wanted to meet her dad. By the time she had finally pulled herself out of the lake nearly an hour had passed and her father was absolutely nowhere to be found. Not waiting for her on the shore like perhaps a film might paint it, not waiting in the lake. No longer in her heart or her dreams. Perhaps that day, in the middle of that rainstorm, perhaps Poseidon died. Certainly in a sense that was true. But in another, he was born. The side that rarely got the recognition it once did, the side that shook the lands of men and carved the shore. It was borne anew in his daughter.
That night, her brothers grew bored after a few Molson’s. They had recently found out about a boy who had been flirting with Rhea. It seemed that her brothers had decided to go on a midnight escapade to the boys who had been flirting with Rhea. They went in the night, took their mother’s jeep – it was surefire. Except of course it wasn’t. It was rather routine actually. They would go over, throw a little tilly and after the dust settled and the donnybrook had ended there stood a few very proud brothers and a very apologetic Rhea. It is at this juncture in the story, when Rhea replays it all in her head that she wonders if that hour in the lake had upset Poseidon. Perhaps another god. Of course, bad things happen more so than the average human is aware but when you have abilities like Rhea, you learn a lot more is the fault of men then what may initially appear to be true.
His father pulled out a hunting rifle and shot one of her brothers, his name was Johnathon. Their father had named all of Rhea’s brothers and their names were quite different than her own. That was something she had always loved. Johnny was actually a relatively safe kid all things considered with that family. Not safe enough of course, but some of her brothers would come to a much worse fate in just a few minutes anyway. By the time they made it home they were screaming bloody murder. By the time she had made it downstairs he was dead. The thing that most people don’t realize about Poseidon is that he was respected, not honored. This is because he carved the coast and sunk what didn’t stick to his will. Unbeknownst to many who live in Lake Louise, Alberta – they live underneath a fault line. By the time the dust settled and the waterspouts ceased their tireless dance around the lake, many were displaced and many were dead. Lake Louise, one of the greatest tragedies in the country’s history was all one young girl and her dead brother. Rhea was gone.
She was sixteen at the time and she moved to California. Her mother had told her once or twice in her drunken ramblings about her father, Poseidon the great earth shaker. So a month later when Rhea was finally standing on the coast, the sun beginning it’s morning rise, the ocean spitting waves at her. She called out, dug into the sand, waited. It was similar to the lake, but in a lake you don’t get waves like you do in an ocean. While Rhea was sitting there, allowing the water to gently caress the half of her that touched the ground, she could make out movements. Movements she recognized well from her mother in fact. The waves shooed her from the coast. They told her that this was no home for her, she belonged elsewhere, or nowhere. Truly, it didn’t change anything. The home she sought for some time was not beneath the waves with her father and he was indifferent to her mother’s death. Honestly speaking, Rhea hadn’t even summed up her emotions, the night is completely lost on her. She remembers something about her brother being shot, and she remembers a great beast approaching them. Perhaps that beast destroyed Lake Louise. Perhaps she did. It wasn’t an answer she wanted the answer to, and her father, the waves, the very sea itself could sense that.
Rhea has more realistic ideas of her father now. When she did end up meeting him, it was brief, to the point. Your power is too great Rhea, you need to learn control. Stay away from others, don’t embrace my half of you.
“Got it dad.”
For the first two years of Rhea's time in Olympus Academy she went through her schooling attempting to learn control over her abilities, but not seeing any alternative to them. However, in her third year after meeting Jonas Highwind, she was given an alternative. She hadn't considered close quarters combat due to her somewhat meager frame. However, it has been Jonas' guidance and her new attention to putting muscle onto her form that has bolstered this option. She trains exclusively without the boost to her physicality in the water. Jonas explained to her that bolstering her abilities when she is without water will make them even better when she has access to it. But if she only trained in water, she'd be lost without it. Her first year of training has been as thorough as one would expect from being trained by a son of Ares. She is competent in throwing a punch, kick, elbow, knee, and she can engage more than a few submission holds. Their current training is revolving around using these abilities in live situations, and converting a solid landed punch into an ended fight. She has also recieved basic weapons training on a plethora of weapons, just the basics so that she is not lost should she be forced to pick one up.

"Did that guy just blind my cyclops son? Fuck that guy. He’s never going home." — Poseidon (Presumably)
Godly Parent
Poseidon, the Earth Shaker. God of the Ocean, Natural Disasters, and One Night Stands.
Relationship With Godly Parent
Rhea’s relationship with Poseidon is completely one-sided. She has spoken with the man once in her life and is typically unable to properly process emotions she feels that surround and conform to the missing father figure in her life. Typically speaking she blames Poseidon and herself for how she feels her powers will come to affect the world. She feels like at this point there is no reason to start a relationship with her father.
Demigod Abilities
Sleep: Rhea is able to exist in water completely harmoniously. She is able to take a great fall, as long as she lands in water she will be alright. Water can heal her wounds, allow her a sense of clarity otherwise impossible outside of it and she can even walk on the bottom of a lake or shallow seabed and not have to surface potentially indefinitely, she hasn't been submerged long enough to require oxygen. She is at her most comfortable in water. She is also able to walk on top of water controlling her buoyancy and ascending or descending incredibly quickly is very easy for her as long as she is in water. When Rhea touches water every aspect of her physicality is greatly enhanced, even during rainfall she becomes not only an adequate fighter but a dangerous one too able to process much quicker due to the clarity it gives her. Innately Rhea knows the exact position of the nearest Fault line and body of water.
Sever: By focusing a great deal, Rhea can take even a very small amount of water and pressurize it into a burst of water capable of cutting through steel. This ability is Rhea's most practiced save for the above, as it is a passive connection to the deep. Rhea can take even small amounts of sweat or a water bottle and turn it into a deadly weapon.
Cry: When Rhea's tear ducts well up she is able to cause rainfall. She has been known to do this to herself at times, lightly hitting herself in the nose and thinking back to her past. She can use this as a trigger for her abilities at times. However, her father is not Zeus and as such she does not control per se the rain's amount. It is always the same, the natural hazard of torrential downpour.
Retch: Rhea is able to produce an incredibly fast waterspout that can carry hundreds of gallons of water from a large body of water onto dry land and into enemies and so forth. Though she is still unsure of herself and they can spin off out of her control. She can also technically summon more than one, however it is nearly impossible for her to maintain control of either when she does this. This ability is used by Rhea by thinking about the anger she feels and the water nearest to her. As such, and because of her sixth sense, she can form waterspouts by accident when she is feeling very extreme emotions.
