Kate
“N-Nixon…The t-town….”
Those are the exact three words Kate remembers saying before her next three years became a mixture of confusion, misery, pain, and too many cold, metal bars. And it was those same three words she’d repeat every morning she would stir from her heavy sleep. Her mind was a toxic concoction of insanity, memories, mixes with a little bit of sanity. This is what the hotel has gifted her, over the years they had tasted a sweet escape which always ended in failure.
Kate was lying on her back in the cage, the weight of an elephant seemed to be pressed upon her chest. She smiled weakly at the conversations that came from others as they too, arose from their sleep.
“Rand… Don’t forget to tell him that this is the place he’s going to live too. All life ends is death. You might as well enjoy the walk to your grave instead of standing at its foot, waiting for the Earth to swallow you whole.”
Her voice was gentle and easygoing, her hazel eyes would dart beneath her eyelids a couple times before they would finally open to the dim room, angled towards someone she’d never seen before (Broby). “Hotel that does slave trade. Trust me, the only way you want to be pointed to is the exit.”
