"Oh, I'm sorry." Tsukiko apologized as she turned her attention toward the boy who had addressed. She had not intended on ignoring anyone and got caught up in her own attempts to try to make her brother more human than he was.
Shinrei was about to walk away from the conversation as he had enough of what he was seeing only to give a quick gaze and notice someone approached him. For a moment he thought they wanted to talk to his sister, but when he noticed that they were looking directly at him he closed his eyes for a moment and went back into his usual cold looking demeanor. It was unexpected that someone would approach him directly that and even more strange is that this person was not a girl though a girl did accompany him. When the individual started to speak toward Shinrei he only paid attention to the relevancy of his words, "Hold up... you seem familiar."
Shinrei decided he had not choice but to answer this person. He didn't look entirely pleased that someone was coming over to ramble on about a bunch of nonsense. Particularly the fact they came to say something as nonsensical as 'they didn't care who he was' hitherto the fact they had the nerve to confront him personally. One of Shinrei's unusual 'hmms' came out of his mouth as he decided he would pay some mind toward this particular person. "And just who are you? Never mind, it's not important to know who you are. You say you don't care yet you have the audacity to come over and inconvenience me with your very presence. That is what is called contradicting what you say. Also, don't give me excuses that I am wrong because I don't care why you came over here."
Tsukiko was a bit taken back in shock seeing her brother talk more than he usually did. It was unnatural for her brother to actually talk to someone as formally as he did. There was a cold natural environment enveloped around his words, but he actually seemed to be showing someone actual attention which is not something he usually did toward people he didn't know. Shinrei, why are you paying this person more mind than you do everyone else? Does this person have something that particularly interests you?
"I saw your duel on the main screen. It was pathetic but you do have the cards to rise toward the top. Your deck has the strength to win, but you seem to lack on strategy. Just because you have strong cards doesn't make you a good duelist. It's how you use those cards that matters. Back on the circuit I dueled people with weak decks and toppled their stronger decks due to their misguided strategies and them getting full of themselves at the end. Overconfidence is a major weakness where it is easy to lose your focus. Why am I saying this? What you said earlier was a bit nostalgic, strange since I don't usually respond this way toward most people. Out of all the duelists I saw the highlights I would say you are the one that has the most potential, but it's up to you if you want to find that resolve within yourself." Shinrei concluded as he had finally exhausted his train of thought. Hayato unlike most of the duelists gave him a nostalgic feeling. He couldn't quite explain why he had such a strong response inside him toward Hayato. To think someone would actually get a response out of me? Could my own past be telling me something that I don't know? No, that's nonsense. My past isn't important. You move forward and never dwell on the past. Nothing good ever comes of it.
"Back to your reason why I am here. If you really want to know then come find me in the Light Dorm at your earliest convenience. I want to ask you something in private anyway. Make sure you come alone. I believe I might be able to trust you with the reason I am here." Shinrei said toward Hayato only to have Hayato's sister pretty much kill the mood with her rambling which caused Shinrei to groan.
Hayato's sister's remark about Shinrei and Tsukiko being twins derailed his last train of thought as he stopped thinking about parts of his past that he still wanted answers from. Shinrei didn't mind her words pulling him back into reality. There was nothing really that he could use form the past that would be beneficial toward him anyway. "Yes, we are twins. Identical twins in fact." Unfortunately for Hayate he shifted right back into his cold natured attitude where he didn't really even give her any eye contact when he said that. He then decided he had enough of rambling so he faced toward the exit of the door then waved off behind saying 'later' in Hayato's direction before approaching the exit.
"Y'know, my brother was actually nice to you for once? I've never seen him act like that before in front of anyone. He even complimented and those weren't insults. He was actually criticizing you which he doesn't do to people he doesn't like. I think he might have taking a liking to you which is rare considering how badly he treats other people. Most people he treats them like they don't even exist. But when you approached him I saw an old part of himself that I have not seen in a very long time. Who are you again by the way?" Tsukiko remarked but then was disappointed because Hayate had to go and kill his mood by asking an obvious stupid question. She knew full and well that her brother was bemused by questions like that though he seemed to use it as an excuse to remove himself from the conversation. Seemed he felt uneasy or didn't feel comfortable is all she could decipher from how he left. "Way to kill the mood, Hayate... Thanks a lot, I thought he was going back to him former self there for a moment."
