it's up! Next time on GCT - GIRLS NIGHT OUT BY RUBY!
“Hold positions” Batman growled as only he could. “Nightwing, move” Dick hadn’t went by that name in years and he wasn’t particularly fond of going by it again. “Move” Bruce hissed again. He had forgotten. Before Dick ever did anything, he had his ritual. Placing his headphone in with an indie song you’ve never heard of playing, he revved the engine of the old heavy set Mark II Batmobile and slammed his foot down. Dick always was fond of the old Tumbler Batmobile, it was the first one he ever got to drive. Ploughing through sheets of ice like a bat out of hell, pun not intended, the former Nightwing was glad the old STAR Labs corridors were as wide as they were long. Over his radio he could hear the other members of the family swooping in from their respective perches. The faint rattle on the steering wheel let Dick know that there were crazy thugs being bounced off of the black monster of a vehicle. A flick of a button my his first ward and Bruce watched as the ice ceiling came tumbling down. Diving down through the falling ice, Batman crashed onto a console in front of Freeze. “VICTOR IT’S OVER!” Fries lunged for Bruce but the wiley vigilante had other ideas. Grabbing Freeze from behind he launched his rope into the air and pulled the villain up through the rafters. He had something in mind for this particular foe… The fight had been going on for just over an hour. The snow had been stained by the blood of the combatants on the Robert Kane bridge. The bulky Freeze had been ripped from his suit by Bruce. At his age, the old Bat’s swell-muscled body was littered with battle scars from blades, bullets and broken bones and every inch ached in fights like this. Fries had obviously been training in his time for this very outcome. That said, it only took a second for Bruce to switch positions and make his way behind the iceman. He was faster than most fighters, he had trained with the best. His strong arms wrapped the cold hearted bruiser in a full nelson. With what little strength he had left, Victor stormed towards the edge of the bridge. The two men went over the railing, Bruce grabbed the rail but Fries went right over, following his late wife down the 100ft drop. Laying upon the frozen water, blood seeping from inside his ear, body broken, Fries watched as the Bat family amassed over him. A family, something he would never have. “Victor” A voice called. “Victor, it’s time to come home” Bruce dropped down to his knees and looked over his fallen foe, placing a hand on the scientists chest. “Sleep well, Victor. She’s waiting for you” “Nora”…..Victor smiled.
Like I say, I won't actually be controlling your characters, just moving them. For example: "As Bruce fought with freeze, the other room was ablaze with violence as Jason and Dick waged war again the icy goons"
Just a heads up guys, if you're wanting to post then I suggest you do it within the next 24 hours as when I get home from work tomorrow, I'll be ending this episode with a big post. We need to keep moving forward so I may need to move some of your characters too. Just thought I'd let you all know
"Let's put a smile on that face of yours" - JokerName - Jackson “Jack” Jerome Napier • Alias - The Joker • Age - 50 • Occupation - Criminal • Skills & Abilities - Genius Level Intellect - Gadgetry - Escapology - Tactical Analysis - Disguise - Hand-to-Hand Combat (Basic) - Intimidation •Equipment - Switch Blades - Joker Gas - Various Comedy Themed Gadgets • Personality & History Many over the years have asked the questions; what gave way to the horror of the Joker? Where did he come from? How is he the way he is? When asked, a different answer is always given. Finally, the truth….. Why So Serious? Jackson Napier was born just south of Crime Alley. A shy, quiet and often stoic boy, young Jack was often mocked for an apparent lack of emotion or empathy, even his own father Ron would often mock him; repeatedly asking “Why So Serious?”. Ron was not only mentally and emotionally abusive but he was also physically violent as well. Too often he would come home drunk and beat his wife and son. Eventually one such beating got out of hand and Jack’s father ended up killing his wife right before his sons eyes. Fearing repercussions, he buried her in the garden, pulled Jack out of school, destroyed the boys birth certificate, eventually joining up with Haley’s circus as it passed through Gotham. Despite the change in scenery, nothing changed for Jack and his dad, the beatings continued and young Jack’s only semblance of peace was in the clown tent. When Ron began to turn on the other circus performers, they rallied against him and a brawl ensued. With Jack watching from the side-lines, he witness one of the clowns take an oversized mallet and bash Ron Napier’s brains in. Young Jack sat laughing…. The Laughing Man Jack never went back to school and after a few more years he left the circus. Returning to Gotham, he started out as a young enforcer working for the mob triad of Sal Valestra, Buzz Bronski, and Chuckie Sol. At one point early on, before his future accident, he and Bruce Wayne caught a glimpse of each other, the image of “laughing man” stuck with the future dark knight for many years. One of his last jobs took place in Europe on the Mediterranean Coast. His target was Carl Beaumont, a businessman who had fled the states after the mob bosses discovered he'd embezzled a fortune. After the Beaumont Killing, Jack formed his own gang but this gang did not last and soon he left to try and finally have a normal life; even repressing his memories of his criminal activities. One Bad Day Using connections gathered during his brief time with the Valestra’s, Jack began working at Ace Chemicals as an engineer. Whilst working there he met Jeannie and the two fell madly in love. He was completely and utterly devoted to her as she was to him. Heavily pregnant and with mounting debts, Jeannie turned to some loan sharks. Hiding this from Jack, she encouraged him to leave Ace and start working on his true passion; making people laugh. Quitting Ace Chemicals, Jack tried his hand at stand-up comedy but this endeavour failed miserably. One day, the loan sharks approach Jack with an offer. Desperate to support his wife and unborn child, he agrees to help two criminals break into the chemical plant where he was formerly employed. However, Jeannie soon finds out and manages to convince her husband at the last minute to back out of the plan. Unfortunately, just as Jack was meeting with the criminals, the police contact and inform him that Jeannie and their unborn child, whom he had believed to be a baby boy, have died in a household fire. Stricken with grief and shock, he attempts to back out of the plan, but the criminals strong-arm him into keeping his promise. The Killing Joke Forced to don a Red Hood when entering the plant to give the idea he was the ring leader, Jack was an emotional mess. As soon as they entered the plant, however, the criminals and Jack are immediately caught by security and a shoot-out ensues, in which the two criminals are killed. As Jack tries to escape, he is confronted by Batman, who was investigating the disturbance. His sheer fear caused him to fall off a catwalk and into a drainage vat of chemical waste that washed him out into the river. As he floated in the green waste, Jacks’ memories trickled like rain in his mind. His mothers murder, the abuse from his father, his father’s murder, his criminal life, the failure of his comedy, the death of Jeannie and the baby. In that moment, he felt like his entire life was just one big bad joke. He laughed at the horrors and the chemicals had an adverse effect on him. When he surfaces in the nearby reservoir, Jack removes the hood and sees his reflection: bleached chalk-white skin, ruby-red lips, and green hair. These events, coupled with his other misfortunes that day, drive him completely insane, resulting in the birth of the Joker. Gotham Funland The Joker began his reign of terror on Gotham by first eradicating any record of his existence and in the process creating the legend he is today. Next came the murders of several high ranked mob bosses in order to take control of their gangs. An attempt on the life of Sal Maroni was what finally brought the Batman to his door. Their feud ignited, Batman and the Joker have fought for years with both men coming out on the losing side. Paralyzing Barbara. Killing Jason and Commissioner Gordon’s wife Sarah Essen. Torturing Gordon. Creating Harley Quinn. The list goes on and on. Joker has been locked away in Arkham for the past two years and everyone believes he’s there to stay this time but Batman isn’t convinced. He remembers all too well the words the Joker said upon his first defeat; “You and I are destined to do this forever HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”Extra - Joker has long been aware of Batman’s identity, he just doesn’t particularly care about it - He still wears his wedding ring - The Joker was instrumental in the makings of many of Batman’s rogues, most notably Harley Quinn and Two Face
Hey Kal, Calvin looks great and is accepted, although I would've preferred you to send his CS via PM for approval first. Non the less, go ahead and re-post the CS in the character sheet section. Got my new computer, just going through the motions of setting it up and transferring all my old stuff onto it. So I still won't be able to get a post up right now. Side Note: If we start doing crossovers with other DC Characters. We are defo using this version of Aquaman if it comes to that. Bad Ass.
Still waiting on my new laptop guys but in the meantime, I'm doing the old fashioned thing and planning some stuff on paper. Including, the CS for a certain clown....
So I have horrible news guys, my computer has died. The old girl served me well but she's gone. I won't be able to get a new one until Friday, so I won't be able to finish the episode. @Ruby will have to take over and wrap things up.
We're going to close down Blood in the Snow this week and move on to the next episode. Like before I might need to do a bit of character moving to keep things flowing so just giving you fair warning that it might happen. Looking to start episode 2 by next weekend.
So a friend of mine (specifically Dblade) got me interested in this, and I was wondering if there was any more room left. After thinking about things a bit and discarding a couple of ideas I didn't think would work well (considered Montoya but as she's my favourite Batfamily character I know I'd just freeze up trying to write her out of fear of screwing up, and later considered Sparrow but somehow I don't think an Amalgam comics character would really fly ^^;) I seem to have whittled my ideas down to Katana, possibly. Most likely based on the BatB version since that's the version freshest in my memory, but we'll see how that works out. Hope that's okay, although if nothing comes of it assume I just hit a wall or something.
Come up with a CS using our template, send it to myself and Ruby and we'll go from there but I can see no reason why Katana wouldn't fit in quite nicely.
