Location: The Party
"Deep breaths, I'm right here," Tas had come to his aid. Of course she did, she was always there. It was about at that moment that Claire came bursting into the scene and Tas quickly pulled away from Dom. Picking up her drink she narrowed her eyes at him. "You better not have spit in this," she grumbled before walking off and taking a seat. Looking at the drink tentatively before taking a sip. Dom turned and looked down at his pint sized Irish companion as he sauntered to them.
"I'm not going to have to put one of you in the penalty box am I?" Claire teased as she picked up the bottle of Guinness and took a long pull. "Cause I will, I'll put both of y'all in time out until you remember Ducks fly together," she added after she swallowed. A weird look came over her face. "BBBBUUURRRRPPPPPPP!"
”Ducks fly together” Dom patted her on the head like a child and smiled. He had a nice smile, it was quite rare to see sometimes. Mostly it was reserved for Nattie and hockey.
Natalya soon picked up on Dom’s little episode. "Are you okay, sweetie?" Her voice sang in a worried tone as she reached down to grab his hand and he locked his fingers with hers. "Don't scare me like that." She leaned over and kissed his cheek, getting a little bit of lipstick residue there. ”I promise babe, I’m fine. Just getting used to being back on sea level you know? Nothing to worry about” Dominic wasn’t sure at all what it was. Was it his heart? Was it a failure to acclimatize fast enough? He didn’t know but the feeling was fleeting, he felt fine now. He thought to himself that it would probably be best for him to take it slow tonight.
Dom kept his eyes open for Kip. He really wanted to catch him and explain to him his idea. It was interesting one, not one Dom had ever even considered until a few hours ago. A documentary. Kip loved to film and Dominic also had a feel for it, what if they filmed something, like one of his treks into the mountain, maybe have some of the others who were willing tag along and attempt something special. Maybe it could work? If all else fails he could always try coaching. Hey, it worked for Emilio Estevez!
He watched with a light smile as Nattie opened all her presents, their gang of misfit toys surrounding them. Once she had been thoroughly surprised by all the amazing gifts Nattie called "Let's eat, everyone." She basically dragging Dom to trail beside her. "Your moment truly scared me, babe. I don't know what I would do if I lost you right here and on my birthday." Oh Nat, she worried, a lot. As soon as she discovered Dom’s heart condition, she almost became obsessed over it, making sure he took his pills, did all the rehabilitation he was required to do, sometimes it was like having a nurse…Oooh, maybe he should get her to dress in a nurses outfit for his birthday, that was an idea.
”I’m fine Nattie, I promise. I’m not going anywhere”
