Phasing/Intangibility: Shadowcat possessed the ability to pass through solid matter and objects by passing her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she was moving. In this way she and the object through which she was passing could temporarily merge without interacting, and each was unharmed when Shadowcat had finished passing through the object. This process was called "phasing." When Shadowcat was phasing, she was, for all intents and purposes, intangible. Hence, when attacked, she could shift into a "phasing" state (even if she was not at the time passing through an object) so as to allow oncoming projectiles or energy blasts to pass through her harmlessly. Shadowcat passed through objects at the same rate of speed at which she was moving before she "entered" it.

Personality and History:
Katherine "Kitty" Anne Pryde was leading the normal life of an extremely gifted thirteen year old girl in Deerfield, Illinois when she began suffering increasingly intense headaches. The headaches were a result of Kitty's mutant power emerging. Kitty possesses the ability to pass through solid matter. Professor Charles Xavier located Kitty and set out to recruit her for his school and possibly as a new member of his X-Men. Kitty's parents allowed Kitty to join Prof. Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. She became the newest member of the X-Men. Kitty spent a great deal of time training. During her first training session in the Danger Room, Kitty easily walked through a scenario that took Professor Xavier weeks to program, this showed off her great natural intelligence.

Kitty served with the X-Men until she was eighteen, becoming increasingly close with the likes of Ororo Monroe and Piotr Rasputin before she headed off to college, specifically MIT. Occasionally she would return to her duties as an X-Men when the situation called for it until finally she decided to become an instructor at the school, teaching computer sciences. Of all the X-Men and young mutants that passed through his doors, Professor X saw more of himself in Kitty than any other. The two shared a special bond closer to father and daughter, rather than teacher and student.

An ancient evil, buried alive in the tombs in the Valley of the Kings was accidently awoken and Apocalypse was reborn. He began to target mutants and in a mighty battle, he destroyed half of the X-Mansion and Professor X with it. There was no time for grieving as Kitty and her fellow X-Men found themselves in an all-out war against the first evil of the world. Eventually he was defeated but at the cost of many friends lives as well as the lives of the poor civilians that wandered into the path of destruction.
In the event of death, Professor Xavier had bequeathed his entire estate to Kitty, who decided to use the money he had left to rebuild and improve the mansion. Upon its completion, the young mutant re-opened the doors and became headmistress of the new institute in the hope that she could honor the legacy of Professor X and instill his ideals into a new generation of mutants.

The Story So Far….
We all know the tale of Professor Charles Xavier. To the general public, a soldier, a natural genius with Ph.D.s in Genetics, Biophysics, and Psychology. A man of wealth who started his own school to help gifted youngsters. To mutant kind, he was a visionary, a man to aspire to be like and the creator of the X-Men , a group dedicated to the protection and service of mutant-kind. A man who gave up his life in the pursuit of a dream.

After dying at the hands of Apocalypse during a great battle, Xavier’s school for mutants was taken over by his former student Kitty Pryde. With a different approach, the newly minted Headmistress Pryde re-opened Xavier’s School and is welcoming a new student body, some looking to control their powers, others looking to join a new X-Men team and some…just looking to head off the college.

But what of the old X-Men? With the world at peace, some decided to retire into civilian lives until the day came that they were needed once again. Others stayed on at the institute as instructors and some, just simply vanished into the night.

The Setting
As you can probably guess, this rp is based around the marvelous (get it?) world of the X-Men. That said, this is not a mission based rp, this is more a character driven story that focuses on the world of this young mutants as they struggle to fit in with their new found or hard to control abilities. In this, we’re really getting back to the roots of what the X-Men was all about, exploring our differences and dealing with them with a little help from our friends.

So here’s how it works. This is more open world, free roam than anything else. That said, I was considering doing an episodic type feature where each writer would come up with a plotline or an “episode” that we’d play through in order to keep things fresh and interesting.

This is an OC rp so no characters related to canon’s because that just leads to a mess. Canons, i.e Cyclops, Wolverine etc do exist but they are not currently involved in the rp, so any references to them should only be made in passing and nothing serious unless it’s part of an episode, so in that case either message me or Fox to find out where that particular character is. Timeline wise, the rp is set in the modern era however, the X-Men have been around a lot longer, so characters like Headmistress Pryde are in fact in their thirties, earlier forties depending on the character.

2. Respect each other and treat each other as equals, any disagreements take to PM.
3. If there is a problem between players the GM's will help solve it so that we can do what we came to do - have fun and write something riveting.
4. Cussing, gore and romance is fine, but if you're getting into serious territory, please fade to black or move to pm.
5. If you don't post within a week we'll check in with you and if we don't get a response we'll remove your character from play in a fitting manner.

I am stil here, at the moment. I am wondering how to make my next post not bland...Struggling a bit with creativity. Depending on what you have planned X I may excuse myself from the rp after the next couple of posts & work on a project of mine--if that would be alright?

That'd be perfectly fine with me, Levi because I'm pretty sure this rp is done.

OK, so it's pretty obvious to me at this point that this rp as slowed dramatically to an almost stand still and I take full blame for that. This was my first rp back after a bit of a hiatus and I thought a little casual, not so dramatic rp would help me ease back into things. Because I was hoping for this to be less work, I kind of didn't put all of my effort into it and never really planned out any sort of story. I apologize for not giving it my all every one.

So I'll leave it up to you, if you guys are happy to continue then so be it. If not, I'm happy to close it and called this a failed pilot that never got picked up for a series haha damn celebrities
