Reporters were everywhere. Every single television channel wanted to be first in broadcasting the Freedom Fighters' opinion on the latest news. It was a good thing that Kjolmar had gotten used to the flashes of the cameras by now or he'd be afraid he'd get blind. Then again, did one ever really get used to them? The rather bulky reporter in the front decided to take his chances. "Coura, Channel 3. Mister Delacroix, what is the official stance of the Freedom Fighters on the Cyborg project in Frisk." Kjolmar moved his mouth a little closer to the microphones before answering. "The Freedom Fighters disapprove any form of Carrier repression, in particular aggressive methods such as the Cyborg project of President Steel. We are thankful that the people of Skylora also judge Steel's actions. We are trying to find a peaceful solution to this problem. Unfortunately, Steel is unwilling to accept negotiations with us." The crowd started to mutter and loudly expressed their concern. "However," Kjolmar continued, "Steel has agreed to dialogue with our very own President Dawnmist and we hope she can convince him to see the error of his ways and shut down the Cyborg project." The same bulky reporter from earlier decided to go for the question that was probably burning on everyone's lips. "And what if negotiations lead to nothing and the slavery continues?" The crowd got amazingly silent all of a sudden, all curious what Kjolmar would answer to this question. He swallowed before replying, trying to think of the best possible answer considering the circumstances. "I strongly believe in the power of words and reason and thus I hope we will come to some sort of agreement. If diplomacy fails, we will eventually have to resort to other measures." Nice and vague but everyone knew there was a context of battle hidden in those words.

A tall blonde woman raised her hand in order to ask a question. "Labasse, Channel 7. Rumor has it that the Carrier rebels known as the Rising Underground already have plans to invade Frisk. Do the Freedom Fighters support this initiative?" Kjolmar frowned, despite having expected that question. "The Freedom Fighters and the Rising Underground are two separate organizations, thus I can not speak for them or their ideas. I can only tell you that the Freedom Fighters will try every single diplomatic procedure before taking drastic measures. As for as the Rising Underground is concerned, we have a meeting planned with their leader to exchange thoughts on this matter. Thank you for your time." Kjolmar had decided to wrap it up and left the stage while President Dawnmist took his place in order to prevent the reporters from following Kjolmar. "Thank you, mister Delacroix. Dear Skylorans, we ask of you to report any sign of Cyborg activity in Skylora-..."

A few hours later, Kjolmar had changed into a more casual outfit and made his way to 'Club Medusa', a nightclub known for its many Carrier clients. A shirt and tie would not exactly blend in there and drawing attention to himself was far from what he wanted in such a shady place. He had plenty of that out there in the daylight world. Kjolmar walked past the long waiting line and as expected, someone in the line commented on it. "Hey, feeling better than the rest of us, humanlover?" Kjolmar wasn't particularly concerned about the man's frustration on getting ahead in line but he knew the insult was referring to the fact that he was considered a traitor to his own kind. The guard at the door motioned for Kjolmar to enter at the side entrance. The man in the waiting line spat in his direction. "We'll see how you feel about special treatment when they betray you!"

Inside, Kjolmar shook off the nasty comment and quickly made his way towards the guard outside the door leading to the manager's office. "I am here to see Nubius." The guard didn't seem to move a single inch. "Mr Nubius is busy. Please make yourself comfortable in the club and I will come get you when he is ready." Kjolmar knew better than arguing with goons, nothing would change their mind anyway. "Thank you." he said calmly and moved to the bar. "Gin Tonic, please."

A few drinks later, Kjolmar had moved on to the dancefloor. He had this mysterious air around him, much darker than his bright appearance during interviews. On the tones of an electro remix of a salsa beat, his dance moves could be considered rather dirty. Luckily, Club Medusa never allowed humans in and thus risk for exposure was minimal. Sometimes he felt a bit afraid that one of the Carriers would expose his darker side to the humans but even Rising Underground Carriers didn't risk damaging the reputation of a Freedom Fighter. Despite their differences, they all wanted Odox to be a better place for Carriers.

Suddenly, the guard from earlier came to get Kjolmar. "Mr Nubius is ready to see you now. Please don't comment on his appearance, he gets a bit sensitive about that." Kjolmar nodded and went through the door. As soon as it got shut behind him, he could barely hear the music anymore. Before him sat a person with darkblue fur instead of skin. His ears seemed to be much bigger than those of humans. On the upper side of his arms were sets of spikes. "Ah, Mr Delacroix, please have a seat. As you know, I am willing to discuss the Cyborg problem with you. As spokesperson of the Rising Underground, I wish to express my desire to work together with the Freedom Fighters in order to solve this.. inconvenience." Kjolmar carefully chose his words, he felt as if he was dealing with some sort of mafia boss. "Well, negotiations have started and-" But Nubius laughed right through Kjolmar's sentence. "Ahahaha, yes, negotiations. Do you honestly believe Steel is considering conversation? The man has build an army of Cyborgs for the sole purpose of eliminating Carriers. If we want to stop him, it will have to be by force. Spare me your useless attempts to convince me otherwise, Mr Delacroix, because we will go to Frisk with or without the aid of the Freedom Fighters." Kjolmar sighed deeply. "Look Nubius, if our negotiations fail, we will join you in Frisk. But until then, please give diplomacy a chance. We have reached so much rights here in Skylora because of it. If Carriers are shown to use hostile actions, it could have drastic consequences for Skylora too. Nubius clearly seemed to care little about such a thing but decided to give Kjolmar the benefit of the doubt. "You have till the end of the week to make progress. If Steel still hunts down Carriers like wild animals by then, the talking will be over." Kjolmar stood up and shook Nubius hand. "Thank you for understanding."
It is the year 3030 in the world of Odox. But before we go on, let's have a closer look at this world:

History of Odox

All that we know of Odox' history, we have read in the Book of Lore. In ancient times, Odox was not just populated by humans but by various creatures that we can only dream or fantasy of. Or so the Book says, at least. Not all habitants of Odox believe the content of this Book to be true and others see it as a fictional tale to tell to their children. Either way, the Book has little information on anything before the year 3000.

In 2080, a virus affected a large part of mankind in various ways. Some were given extraordinary abilities by the virus while others changed in appearance drastically. Regardless of the changes, these infected people were deemed sick and got isolated from the healthy. As a result, most of the "Carriers" (as they were referred to) hid their infection from the public.

But things improved for the Carriers, as in the year 3000 science proved that the virus was not contagious. In certain parts of Odox, the Carriers could now walk freely without having to hide. However, while the region of Skylora generally accepted the Carriers among them, the region of Frisk seemed to remain hostile towards them.

Present day, 3030, President Steel of the region Frisk has an army of Cyborgs hunting down all Carriers in Frisk in order to experiment on them as if they were lab rats. Steel justifies his actions by saying he wants to cure them but in reality he aggressively takes them against their will. Meanwhile several groups of Carriers have started to get organized in the fear that Steel will invade Skylora as well.

Factions

Skylora:
✺ The Skyloran: The humans of Skylora under the leadership of female President Dawnmist. They generally accept Carriers among them (with the exception of the city Midizi)
✺ Freedom Fighters: A group of Carriers that works together with the humans of Skylora in order to keep the peace. Squad A is currently assigned to prepare for a battle with Frisk.
✺ Rising Underground: A group of Carriers that rebel against all humans, Skyloran and Friskians alike. They mostly have appearance mutations and feel as if they are less accepted than Carriers with invisible abilities. They mostly still hide from human sight when they can.

Frisk:
✺ The Friskians: The humans of Frisk under the leadership of President Steel. They are hostile towards Carriers. (Some Friskians live in Midizi)
✺ Cyborgs: The army of Steel that was trained to capture Carriers and bring them to the laboratory for experiments.
✺ Slaves: Friskian Carriers. Either hidden, hunted down or already captured.

Rules

➸ Decent grammar, no one-liners, no godmoding, ... You know.
➸ Try to aim for at least one post a week.
➸ If you have an invisible ability (most abilities are), you are likely a Freedom Fighter. If you have an appearance mutation (like having a tail), you are likely a Rising Underground.
➸ Don't make your ability overpowered.

Freedom Fighter (Squad A) - Spokesperson

Appearance:
Bright-blue eyes, blond hair, slightly tanned skin.
Average height, rather thin.
Often dressed formal and classy.

Ability:
Kjolmar can fly and has improved reflexes and battle skills while he's up in the air with the possibility to create small whirlwinds.
He can put the foe under a temporary disorientated hypnosis by making eye contact, stealing their energy in the process. He can then blast this energy as an attack.
(He can not hypnotize Cyborgs.)

Personality (both positive and negative traits):
At first sight, Kjolmar is a charming and charismatic person. He is a polite diplomat and this makes him popular among both humans and Carriers.
The downside is that he often has to be insincere because he is a public figure and he can't fall out of his role. This could make one question his true motives.

Brief background:
Kjolmar is one of the leading Carriers in the Freedom Fighters. While being a public figure, his primary task is communication with the Skyloran humans through their media. As the face of peace, he needs to reassure the Skyloran that the Rising Underground rumors are exaggerated. With the newest threat coming from Frisk, a good understanding with the Skyloran is more important than ever. Kjolmar and the other Freedom Fighters have plans to liberate the Slaves in Frisk but how will the Skyloran react to the rumors that the Rising Underground is part of the plan?

Kjolmar sat down near Olli's pokemon. "I know a great story." he started, after which Coop the Squirtle immediately pulled Chimchar along and sat down next to Kjolmar. Coop loved Kjolmar's stories, despite the fact that he usually got so wrapped up in them that he forgets they aren't real.

"Once upon a time, there was a region without humans. It was ruled by six pokemon. First Bulbasaur and Chikorita had taken the power. Then came Squirtle and Totodile, who had a lot of other views than their partners. But they managed to cooperate despite their differences. Eventually Charmander and Cindaquil joined them, wanting them to listen more to the other pokemon. It wasn't always easy getting along, but the six of them tried their best."

Coop cheered as he heard that there was a Squirtle involved in the story. It was as if he was cheering for the Squirtle to be the winner of the story, regardless of the plot. Kjolmar smiled and continued.

"But an evil Koffing tried to destroy the six and rule over the region. The six had to combine all their powers in order to stop Koffing and it brought them closer together as a team."

Coop made an angry fist, as if he wanted to fight the Koffing from the story.

"While Koffing was no match for the six, a new threat arrived. Emolga had shown up and disagreed with how the six ran things. It had gotten in a fight with Cindaquil in particular. The problem was that unlike Koffing, Emolga didn't appear to be that aggressive but prefered to convince the other pokemon of the region to criticize the six. And it worked, the pokemon were devided: some agreed with Emolga, others saw it as a manipulator. It even devided the six. While Charmander, Chikorita and Totodile stayed loyal to Cindaquil (who had become Emolga's main target); both Bulbasaur and Squirtle were starting to doubt if they should team up with Emolga. Not because they liked Emolga, far from it, but because they noticed how many of the other pokemon seemed to agree with it."

Coop jumped up and mumbled something with a lot of energy. Kjolmar laughed and said: "Calm down, Coop, Squirtle and Bulbasaur won't become the villains."

"Anyway, then at some point, a Litleo showed up. Litleo was determined to bring Emolga down but also didn't agree with the original six. Litleo tried-"

Suddenly the story got interrupted by Aerodactyl screeching extremely loud. Kjolmar looked up in the air. "What is it, Aerodactyl?" Another loud screech. Kjolmar frowned. "Something must be wrong with Litwick or Spritzee, I'll go check it out!" He started running in the direction that Litwick and Spritzee had taken off, with Aerodactyl flying in the same direction high above him.

He bumped in to a man having his Garchomp ready to fight Spritzee and Litwick. Upon a closer look, it was the same villain that tried to steal Kjolmar's pokemon earlier. He was no longer wearing his Team Plasma suit, hinting that he had left the team. "Vlad! You again!" Kjolmar shouted. Vlad laughed loudly. "You honestly thought I wouldn't come back? Garchomp, use Dragon Rage!"

Litwick vanished in order to dodge the attack but Spritzee was hit straight on. Kjolmar was worried but when the attack was over, he saw how Spritzee was unharmed. "Right, fairy types have an advantage over dragon types." Vlad, on the other hand, didn't seem to know that yet and was upset with his failed attack. "Spritzee, use Fairy Wind on Garchomp!" Not only did it hit Garchomp, it also hit Vlad, making both of them fly away in the distance. (Quite similar to the Team Rocket trio in the anime, for that matter.)

"Come on guys, let's finally relax. But ehm, stay close to me this time, okay?"
Kjolmar's gaze travelled towards August's new hairstyle. "I like it better this way, actually. It's simply beautiful, August!" Kjolmar was quite the charmer, not to get in anyone's pants like some other boys did, but he knew the true value of a compliment better than anyone. "You brought your violin, that is wonderful. Mother wanted me to find a way to get my piano to school but I didn't feel like bringing it. It's not exactly an instrument that you can put under your seat. There is a piano at the castle though, we should definitely play some music together some time." Kjolmar was rather good at playing the piano but he didn't always enjoy playing because for as long as he could remember, he was forced to practice in order to get even better. Being a Prefect, studying a lot and playing Quidditch, his spare time was rather limited as it was.

Kjolmar turned back to Felix and smiled. "Felix, you remember August? We accidentally turned her owl purple in our second year." Kjolmar laughed a little but was also rather embarrassed. He knew she'd forgiven them but it was one of those things you'd never truly forget.

As they got to Hogsmeade, their first stop was The Three Broomsticks. Not that far from the entrance sat Abelia Nixus and right behind her were sitting Joseph and Louis. "Kjolmar, over here!" one of them shouted. Kjolmar motioned for Felix and August to follow him and he put some extra chairs at the table. "Hey Kjol, I just wanted to apologize for earlier. I've been rather hard on you but... good luck with your Seeker position." Joseph said, while Louis nodded in agreement. Louis decided to add an explanation to the apology: "It's just that we'll miss you as our third Chaser and we needed some time to progress that." Kjolmar placed his hands on their shoulders. "It's okay guys. I would be upset too, if it were one of you two leaving. Say guys, you know Felix and August?" Louis looked at August: "Yeah, aren't you that girl whose owl got turned pur-" Kjolmar interrupted Louis before he could go on. "Soooo... Who's up for some Butterbeer?"

As the landlady walked up to them to take their orders, she giggled a little and winked. "Why don't you try my excellent Firewhiskey, sir Delacroix?" Kjolmar blushed a little. "Well, as a Prefect, I shouldn't encourage underage drinking. I think five Butterbeers will do just fine, but thank you for the suggestion. Oh, Mdm Rosmerta, make that six Butterbeers, one for the Gryffindor girl as well. She had the pleasure of encountering Serena Vermont so early on the day so I bet she can use it." He winked at Abelia while making that remark.

Upon entering Camphrier Town, Kjolmar noticed how Squirtle and Chimchar seemed to get along perfectly.

"I might as well let everyone out for some fresh air." he said while throwing two pokeballs up. Litwick immediately took off without waiting for anyone. Spritzee circled around Kjolmar, not exactly eager to leave his side. Aerodactyl flew high up and made a few circles in high air to stretch his wings.

He took another look at Squirtle and Chimchar. "I think those two want to be friends."

Spritzee seemed to have changed her mind and she wandered off, following Litwick. "Don't get yourselves in trouble!" Kjolmar yelled after them.
Kjolmar received that sparkle in his eyes that everyone had every now and then when they felt proud of something. "I might as well tell you now, I'm starting to think that Almveig isn't on the train." He hadn't even noticed the fact that Felix had ignored the question about Slytherin. You could say his ego about his own accomplishment got in the way of that.

"As you know, I have been one of the three Ravenclaw Chasers for years now. As you also know, I was rather good at that, if I say so myself. I can be quite the nerd with my books, but I'm pretty confident about my Quidditch skills too." Kjolmar stroke Minny, who had made herself a comfortable seat on Felix' lap. "But as of this year, I will be the new Seeker! Isn't that wonderful news? We will score better than ever!" He knew Felix never had any interest in being on the Hufflepuff team, so he felt like he could brag a bit without provoking certain competitive feelings.

Kjolmar looked out the window and noticed that they had arrived at Hogsmeade station. It seemed as if time had flown by extra fast this time. "Do you think we have time for one butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks before we head to the castle?"

All of a sudden, the entire cabin darkened by a shadow but just for a short moment and then the lights returned. "Huh. That was weird."

Upon exiting the train, he noticed something was going down between Serena and a Gryffindor girl. The other Slytherin girl didn't seem to want to be involved and left in a hurry. He guessed Serena had enough drama for the both of them. When the Gryffindor girl nicknamed Serena "V", Kjolmar widened his eyes.

"I don't know the Gryf girl, but I think she's getting herself in a lot of trouble by taunting Serena Vermont. Who nicknames Hogwarts' Queen Bee and gets away with it?" he asked to the girl near him. When he turned his head, he noticed it was his fellow-Ravenclaw August Rushwood. "August! I didn't realize it was you. How have you been?"
There wasn't any answer, just some twiddling sounds. He slowly walked closer to the source of the sounds. Kjolmar noticed someone hiding in the shadows, someone rather short. Taller than his slain padawan tho. Why was it that he compared their seize anyway? It was definitely not a trooper, the last thing they'd do was hide in the shadows while Kjolmar was all by himself. The same could be assumed for the Sith. Whoever this was, Kjolmar had a hunch he or she wasn't particularly hostile.

The ship beeped once, indicating that the coordinates for Naboo were set and it was ready to leave. Stranger in the shadows or not, Kjolmar knew he had little time to waste. Without withdrawing his weapon (one couldn't be too cautious), he slightly lowered his guard. "Whoever you are, show yourself. I have no intention of hurting you unless you attack me."
