Full Name: Taru Hilja Korhonen
Aliases: Watcher
Age: 32
Birthday: October 8th
Appearance: Taru is usually always seen in her usual getup: the bulky, asymmetrical overcoat, the large, armored boots, and her helmet. Sometimes she'll take off the coat-that is if she's not in battle gunning down enemies - which reveals a black bodysuit that covers her whole body. No one has ever seen her face (besides close family and medics), and they probably never will, she relies on her helmet way too much to just take it off for casual settings.

Personality: Taru is a considerably quiet girl, but she isn't shy. She likes to communicate her thoughts in different ways without having to speak. Some may not find her friendly at first, it seems as if she's distant and rather harsh at the beginning. It may look like she's ignoring you and not inputting her opinion into conversations and stuff, but usually most of the time it's because she has her hearing aids turned all the way down. When you
really get on her good side, she's nice enough to bring little candies and snacks around for her friends.
Biography: Born in the province Lapland of Finland, Taru was brought up in a pagan family. They appreciated the old mythology, and stuck to it like glue. Her family boasted about the hunt, the harvest, imaginary wars from way back when. It was the only history that Taru grew up with, and those values influenced the way she lived.
Even though her kin lived like farmers and barbarians, they were still far from that. They continued to live as normal as it was in modern society. When Taru was a little girl, her parents would always take her and her siblings to Rovaniemi, best known as where the Santa Claus Village is located. It was always her favorite amusement park, and practically the only place Taru would want to go. Her love of the jolly holiday originated there, and would always have a special place in her heart.
One day, at the age of 14, while her and her family were visiting Rovaniemi for their bi-monthly trip, there was an explosion on the highway her parents were driving on. The explosion rendered Taru deaf, whilst killing off her brother and mother. It was rumored to be either a terrorist attack, but at the time she never cared at all. Taru just knew that she wouldn't get her revenge the way most people would have liked. She continued to live on with her life, trying not to let the tragic accident get to her, even as she adjusted to her disability. Because of losing her hearing at such an early age, she gave up on speaking a voice she could no longer hear, embarrassed and ashamed that Taru wasn't able to even understand what she was saying.
The Omnic Crisis began when Taru was only 22 years old, and the war only reminded her of that fateful day on the highway. She enlisted to defend what little family she had left, honoring the values of the hunt and fights she was taught to as a child. Shortly after Overwatch was created, she joined the peaceful organization hoping to do good for everyone around the world.
Additional Notes: Taru is hard of hearing, and in her helmet are hearing aides. Sometimes when shes heard enough of someone speaking, she likes to turn them off and ignore them.
