Edited my Brute role Graxonite character Voren. If there is any issues or things to change please tell me.
EDIT: This character seems more like the Brute role. Name – Voren Djun Alias – Sabre Age – 22 Personality – Loyal, Vicious, Boastful Powers – Voren is a Graxonite who can naturally enter a death-like trance state where their body starts to regenerates wounds. They could in theory regrow a lost limb but it would take at least a week. Voren is also a psionic mutant and can create a blue blade made of his mental energy. Skill wise Voren was raised as a warrior and hunter and thus possesses advanced combat abilities and is a good tracker. Weaknesses – While Graxonites can regenerate they need to be alive to do it. Anything that could kill a baseline human could kill Voren. When it comes to his psionic powers prolonged use of the psychic blade causes mental pain and can make it so it takes longer to form the blade the next time. Also Voren is more attuned to psychic energy and can experience painful mental feedback from psionic powers in use. Appearance – Voren is a Graxonite and is thus has golden skin and pointed ears. His eyes are also gold while his hair is a dark red and kept just long enough to be visible. He stands at about 5'9'' and is quite muscular. In recent time Voren has ditched his tribal attire and wears a sleek grey and white bodysuit. He also wears silver gloves and boots. BRIEF Bio – Voren was born on the planet Graxos III in Space Sector 2815. Unlike its neighbouring planets Graxos III was primitive, with the natives living in hunting and gathering tribes. The tribe the Djun family lived in was noted for its members possessing strange mental powers that the other Graxonites did not have. From a young age Voren was raised as a warrior. In his first actual battle his powers manifested as he was able to form a blade out of his psionic energy. Soon he was called the wielder of the Soul Sabre, or just Sabre. Eventually the more civilized Graxonites learned of Voren's tribe and their powers so they captured them and brought them to Graxos V for studying. It was discovered that their mental powers came from illegal experimentation by a shady Graxonite company. When this truth came to light the company paid out huge settlements to those involved. The Graxonite government decided to keep the mutant Graxonites on Graxos V where they were educated and “civilized” before joining proper Graxonite society. After three years Voren grew tired of the peaceful life on Graxos V and longed to use his psychic blade again and perform more legendary feats. He got the chance after the Graxonites joined the United Planets which brought in a lot of new business and alien merchants. Voren got a job working for one of these new merchants as muscle to aid in his enterprises. A few weeks into the job Voren's boss was arrested for participating in some less savoury business practices. So Voren was out of a job and without enough money to leave Sector 2814. Notes – - Graxonites are a canon DC Alien Race, Green Lantern Arisia Rrab being the most notable. - Voren's psychic blade functions similarly to Marvel's Psylocke's psychic blades. - His healing factor requires a lot of effort and time and should not be compared to something like Wolverine's. - When Voren was educated on Graxos V he excelled in language studies and thus speaks the major languages of his and nearby Sectors well enough to get his point across.
John's fist collided with the torso of the Man of Steel. The hero grunted before countering with his own fist. Unfortunately John's metallic body was not as strong as a Kryptonian's. The punch created a dent in John's armour. Then another fist collided with John's shoulder. And another, and another. John's metallic exo-skeleton was heavily damaged, even torn in some places. But that didn't matter to John. He was Metallo, a cyborg pawn of Brainiac. No thoughts occurred in John's consciousness that weren't spawned by Brainiac's programming. But in John's subconscious his mind remained, screaming out against being a soldier in Brainiac's war with Superman. He was tired of being someone else's soldier. Even his time in the army had led to nothing but pain and the eventual loss of the majority of his body. Now Superman was destroying his new body. John lashed out with a swing of his right fist only for Superman to sever both arms with his heat vision. John backed away; his only defence now was his Kryptonite heart. He activated the opening procedure for his torso where the rock was stored only to be teleported back to Brainiac's ship. “Metallo, you are to report to deck three for repairs,” commanded Brainiac. John's body complied but his subconscious fumed, waiting for the day he could be free of Brainiac's control. ~*~ The memory ended as John awoke strapped to a slab with only his head activated.. Initially he was disoriented but other memories flooded back to him. His continued servitude to the alien. Lex Luthor freeing him, only to disown him in front of the authorities. His imprisonment in a military facility, being shut off once they admitted him. And now he was on a plane. John looked around and discerned that he was on a plane of some sort. He turned to see an armed guard across from him who said, “Good you're awake.” “Who are you? Where are we going? Why is the rest of me shut off?” questioned John. “Slow down Metallo, give me a chance to answer. I'm Agent Strauss with A.R.G.U.S. We're on our way to Bialya where you are to rendezvous with your new team. And you're shut off until while a program is working to prevent you from shutting off the compliance bomb located in what's left of your head.” stated the guard. John took it all in quickly. So it seems the government had use for him again. Some pleasant memories of his time in the army returned, but so did the pain and time as Brainiac's slave. Either way it was going to be interesting. ~*~ John's body reactivated shortly before landing, meaning the program had taken effect and he couldn't remove the bomb. Agent Strauss let him off three miles from the rendezvous point which apparently was some rickety safe house. While on route John looked over some body modifications done by A.R.G.U.S. Mainly his exo-skeleton was now a denser metal meaning more protection but slower speeds. The only other notable thing was that he could generate a layer of synthetic skin to pass off as just a really big human. John assumed this would be relevant to whatever the government was having him do. When John made it to the safe house six people were already inside. The first one he saw looked like Superman. Anger swelled in John but a second later realized it wasn't Superman. He knew Superman well and this was not him. The others were a not-Batman, a flaming skeleton, one guy in a parka and another with a trident, and finally a fellow mechanoid. As they didn't say anything to John when he entered he decided not to say anything either. John was checking over his upgrades again when another group entered the safe house. There was a speedster, two matching assassins, and one guy with boomerangs and another dressed as a cat. What the hell kind of team was this. Then the display screen came to life and a voice told them their mission. So the US was getting involved in another backwater dictatorship. As John was processing this the not-Superman demanded to know who everyone was. John was about to speak up when a fight broke out between the assassin and not-Superman. It ended with them revealing there names. He didn't recognize any of the names. The following mention of an event known as Forever Evil was lost on John. He must off been shut off when it happened. Sure enough another fight broke out, this time with the not-Batman. The man with the boomerangs, Digger Harkness he introduced himself as, interrupted the brawl as did the female assassin. John was getting tired of this bullshit. His time in the army was in stark contrast to the crap and lack of command that this group was pulling. So it was no surprise when more crap came from the so-called Catman and the guy he called Atlantean, who John did not hear his telepathic message as there isn't enough left of his biological brain. After the Captain introduced himself John finally decided to speak, “I'm former US Armed Forces Sergeant John Corben, but the media has branded me Metallo. I don't care what you call me I just want this over with.”
Been busy with real life. I'll post Metallo's intro tomorrow.
-Accepted- Real Name: John Corben Code name: Metallo Prison Inmate #: 10734 Appearance: History: John Corben was born just outside Metropolis to the newlywed Corbens, Steven and Jane. The Corbens were well liked in their town and were friends with many other families, including the Lanes. The Corbens and Lanes both came from a tradition of military service, and in fact Steven Corben and Samuel Lane had served in the same unit. From a young age John Corben was friends with Sam's daughter Lois. They went to the same school and when talking about their plans for the future she revealed that she wanted to be a journalist. Naturally John then decided that he wanted to be a journalist. When they entered high school Lois started to distance herself from John, who had been harbouring feelings for her. Feeling like it was his last chance he approached her and declared his love for her. Lois couldn't reciprocate but tried to let him down easy. He was heartbroken and eventually grew bitter, switching schools so that he wouldn't have to see her. He abandoned becoming a journalist and followed his father's advice and joined the armed forces. John proved exceptional and deadly efficient in training and was transferred to the special forces. He was deployed in several crisis zones where he learned how vicious he was in combat and the thrill he got from battle. Near the end of his second tour of duty he was deployed to occupy a village. Within an hour of being there he was approached by a young boy in the street. He managed to notice that he had hidden an explosive device. John called for his squad to scatter as he shot the boy, who was killed immediately. Unfortunately the bomb went off prematurely and the only one injured was John who ended up losing his left leg just below his waist and right leg below the knee. He was given the honorary rank of sergeant for his heroism, but he believed his days as a soldier were over. He returned to the states and found it hard to adjust. His family found it hard to be around him as he suffered fits of rage. His life was spiralling until he was approached by Samuel Lane, now a General. General Lane offered him a place on the military program Project: Steel Soldier. There he is suited with the prototype battle suit Unit Metal 0. His first mission was to capture the newly debuted superhero Superman. John was deployed amidst a battle between Superman and Brainiac. During the battle the Metal 0 suit was badly damages and exploded, destroying more of John's body. He woke up in a military hospital where he was visited by Lois Lane who wanted to say goodbye as the doctors' said John has less than a day to live. John was ready to die when an up-incoming Doctor named Emmet Vale proposes to redesign the Metal 0 suit to turn John into a cyborg. John agreed. After the procedure John awoke in a rage, calling himself “Metallo”, and escaped the facility. While roaming the streets he saw on a TV a gossip show that said Superman was dating Lois Lane. This enraged John who started causing property damage to draw out Superman. When Superman arrived the two fought it out until John ran out of power, the Metal 0 suit was not designed to generate enough energy to support a human. John was placed in America's most secret military facility, where he was kept on minimum life support. But when he was connected to the base's system a virus was released from his compromising the system. It turns out Dr. Vale had been replaced by an android built by Brainiac. The system was shut down long enough for Brainiac to invade the facility and recover John and several other secret people and objects. John was rebuilt with a new power source, a kryptonite heart. He was sent to attack Superman on Brainiac's orders many times, becoming one of Superman's nemesis. Eventually Lex Luthor captured John and restored his memories and autonomous thinking. In return he had to work for Lex. Eventually Superman figured this out and tried to reveal this to the army. When Superman and the army captured John, Lex denied all involvement. John was initially sent to a military prison, but was transferred to Belle Reve on Amanda Waller's orders. After modifying his mechanics to be easier to control, Amanda planned to have him join Task Force X, her “Suicide Squad”. Powers/Abilities: Combat Cyborg: The majority of John's body is replaced with machinery. His head is the only visible original body part, but under the flesh is mostly robotics. His metal body can absorb a lot of damage and is faster and stronger than a plain human, bordering on super-powered. His power source is a kryptonite heart which he can open his chest plate to reveal and shoot kryptonite blasts from. Also as a cyborg he does not need to eat, breathe or sleep. And finally he has a military background and is such trained in tactics, protocol, and weaponry.
I think it could be a cool character dynamic with John being forced to power Ultraman who is an evil version of John's nemesis, Superman. So am I accepted?
Is my character accepted? The sheet is on page 9 of the OOC. I'm just wondering since DeathstrokeSW hadn't mentioned it.
If this is still open I would like to throw my hat into the ring. I'm okay with reserve status. Send me (or anyone else who submitted) a PM if there's an opening.
If it's not too late I would like to get in on this. Name – Miles Morales Alias - Spider-Boy Age - - 15 Earth # - 15004 Powers – The standard Spider-Man powers of superhuman strength, durability, agility, reflexes, wall crawling, and Spider Sense. He also can use natural camouflage to blend in and can shoot a blast of pure energy, a manifestation of his ki. Weaknesses – All standard Spider-Man weaknesses. Using ki tires him out. Personality – Driven, attentive, and insecure. Appearance – Miles is mixed African and Latin and thus has a brownish skin tone. He's about 5'7'' and has a well toned body thanks to his training. His eyes are brown and his hair is black and short. His costume consists of a black sleeveless shirt and mask, with red web design going along it and a spider symbol in the centre in the classic Spider-Man style. His pants are of the plain white style found with a martial arts gi and are adorned with a black martial arts belt. Finally he wears red running shoes and similarly coloured gauntlets. BRIEF Bio – Thirteen year old Miles Morales's world was changed when his mother was attacked and killed by what seemed to be ninjas. While still in shock Miles was approached by a criminal ninja named the Prowler who revealed that he was his uncle and that he and Miles's father were former members of the Spider Ninja Clan. Enemies of the Spider Clan, known as the Scorpion Clan, had killed Miles's mom to get to the brothers. The Prowler offered to train Miles to get revenge. Eventually the duo confronted and defeated the Scorpion Clan but the Prowler was mortally wounded in the fight. Following his uncle's death Miles decided to search for his father. While searching he learned that the rest of the Spider Clan had all but been wiped out. He eventually did find a surviving member, Peter Parker, formerly the hero known as Spider-Man. He had quit heroics to settle down with fellow ninja Mary-Jane. Peter told Miles that the only a master could find his father, so Miles begged Peter to train him to be one. After a while Peter gave Miles a new Spider-Man costume. Miles assumed that this meant he was ready, but Peter told him that at this point he was only a Spider-Boy and must earn the title of a man and master. Notes – This is a mishmash of Mangaverse Spider-Man and the Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man. He's had a lot of training but his only real combat experience was the confrontation with the Scorpion Clan. Response to Spider Fist – In a serene valley the only bustling was Miles doing his morning run. It always helped to prepare for whatever Master Parker had in store for him today. About a half hour into the run a vision appeared before Miles. Recognizing the stranger as another Spider-Man, possibly from another dimension given what Master Parker had told him. After the other Spider Hero's speech Miles thought for a second before replying, “Master Parker may not like it but it would be good training,” he clenched his fists, “I'll help, just give me ten minutes to gather my things and explain this to my Master.”
