Why?
So that people might actually talk to me? Why would I want that?
Because that's what this site is for? I guess, but I though it was a site for finding and helping make interesting stories...
It is? Then why would you say it is for meeting people? Oh, that's the only way to make the stories? I guess I'll add more to this then.

Favourite Colors: This, this and this.

Most other platforms and sites: Zardoric.

When It come to role-playing I like well constructed and interesting worlds. Magic, advanced tech, strange world? I'm in, or may at least lurk. My main enjoyment in role-playing is in the story and the characters, and often take the story five or six different ways in my head then what actually happens, often with a romance plot in mind. Action is secondary, or even tertiary. However I myself am (relatively) new to forum Role-playing and most of my experience comes from playing and GMing a table top RPG.

I am also pretty good at designing role play setting and such so if you would like help creating your RP I would be more then happy to assist.

Oh, and if you want to talk go ahead and PM me.

@Whimsley It's because of that I said "almost" every species. I would say that it depends on the trainers experiences as to whether they can tell for each Egg Group of pokemon, and allow the pokedex to be able to tell almost no matter what. Some situations, unknown pokemon for instance, it wouldn't be able to right away.
@Whimsley Awesome. And actually, the mistake was mine, I mistook him for a different one of my people.

As for the gender, how about having it so that a quick glance at the pokedex could inform them while those with the right knowledge can identify them without it. @Morose, although people often do mistake pet genders, the signs are relatively easy to spot in almost every species, so proper knowledge is/could be more then enough.

@Lasrever Thanks.
@Whimsley
I'll be able to take my character back if I still may. Your call. The only problem is trying to fix the character... Also, @Lasrever I'm thinking Abigail made a few too many actions in her post. It isn't likely she would get past the running away part before the "bad guy" could react.

And if I may point out, in both the game and show most trainers are easily able to identify Pokemon genders if they pay it any attention. You'll notice the game always tells you, and even most newbie trainers in the shows (Ash being an exception) can usually tell. And think about it, even in real life it is normal easy, they just cant show the differences in a kids show.
My apologies for an extended disappearance. Life sucked for a bit there.

I'm back and reading through everything now, will try to get a post up either in the next couple of hours or tomorrow.
My apologies for not posting yet. Real life sucks.

I have the post mostly typed out in my head but may not have the time to modify it (have to read everyone else’s post) and post today. If not then Ian is going to have had something happen to make him late to the party, because I'm going to be away from a computer for the next couple of days. Life sucks sometimes.

As for the insane character idea...that would crush me. I like what we are building too much, and our characters are a bit too different for us to share the same insanity. (Plus, it is such a cheep out endgame/show/movie thing that happens. Its an interesting twist the first or second time you see it, but past that it needs to be done well and the signs need to be there the entire time. Some small change here, a lack of something there, stuff like that.)

If you like that idea that much though I could help make a different RP with that being the main theme.
Zardoric, Pikmin Eye, Hey all excited to have this get going soon just had a couple questions. Is there any particular reason that we would want a large percentage of the students to pass away? I realize that much of the death rates is from the dangers of the school, but are we generally safe from neutral peers? Or is there a hard cap on the number of students that can graduate or something? If not, I was thinking the best plan would be to group up as soon as possible in game.

Also how will countering magic work? Do different schools of magic cancel each other out in game? Or is the counter to one school of magic another spell from that same school?

Thanks!

That is a lot of questions.

To answer the first one it has to do with the nature of magic, as your characters grow more experienced they will develop the ability to sense it, as well as a resistance to it. The high death rate is due to a lack of these abilities, and the random nature of free floating magic.

Most of your peers will just be like you, doing their best to survive. The only ones your going to have to look out for are the greedy and the power hungry at the beginning. Of course, this is a closed community school with people from all over the world, so you are more then likely to make enemies.

There is no hard cap, or even soft cap, to the maximum number of student. It is possible for everyone to graduate. However unlikely. Grouping up could work, the biggest drawback is the emotional recoil of having a friend in your group die. but many of the older student, and even the teachers, will recommend forming groups to help get you through the first year or two.

Counter magic spells are available to those at who have been at the school long enough, about six years, because they are very difficult Invocations. They are also required learning. Arcane magic has the same spells available a year early. As for everyone else, you have to rely on your natural resistance (which starts out extremely low), or the aid of superiors. Other then Anti-magic Spells, there are armor spells that you can start learning late in the second year which is about the same time as you start learning combat magic. Earlier then that you will learn spells to counter specific effects (like one to slow your rate of falling so you don't die, or one to help put out fires) that can help you survive. If the teachers could, they would teach magic to help students survive, but the students aren't capable of that early one.

@VarionusNW The only people playing teachers will be us host. Otherwise I have to give out too much meta info that may or may not be finished yet.

Speaking of which, me and @Pikmin Eye are still looking for another co-host.

Also, news update:
I will have very limited access from tomorrow to as late as next Monday (real life stuff sucks sometimes). I will get the main thread up today, but the earliest start time for this RP will be next Tuesday, and that is if nothing else goes wrong.
I'll be keeping an eye on this, but as of right now some things have come up in life, and I don't think I'll be able to participate. As I said, I will be reading though.

Not a problem, you can join whenever you wish. Pending character approval of course.

That makes 5 interest at this time then.

Also, I failed my @Xandrya mention in my previous post, so here it is.
@sassy1085@Sombrero@EurmalEye@Celaira@Carmel Cat@Xandrya

First an update:

I count 6 interested players so far (one in PM) and this has been up less then a day. I will not be able to make a main thread for this RP until next Wednesday due to real life stuff, but I will continue to add more info here.

Added the list of magical classes available. If you think a type of magic is missing or not correctly represented then please feel free to bring it up. The more verity variety the better.

Note: There may be a reason a type of magic is missing, Demonology and healing for instance. Healing is a result, not classification, and several types of magic can heal in different ways. Demons on the other hand don't exist, or at the very least can't be summoned. Many Magic users create what they want to believe are demons, but no one has any kind of magic that can connect to any other realms or dimensions, whether they exist or not. Bringing the dead back to life is also impossible. No one really knows why.

Next, Some answers:

For those who wish to help Co-GM, Please PM me and @Pikmin Eye. He has (finally) officially agreed to help co-host this with me. He has already put in some effort on this. We are friends in real life and have spent some time discussing this RP, and he knows most of the source material I'll be pulling many of the spells themselves from as well as, or better, then I do.

As a Co-GM you will be responsible for a couple of teachers, each of which is in charge of multiple classes. Due to the size of the school (no more then ~300 students at a time, 200 or so of which are newcomers,) teachers don't always have things to do, some of your teachers won't be doing anything other then an occasional appearance.

Only I and the Co-host will control teachers or senior students. All player characters will start the RP ten minutes before the letter teleports you. Of course you can back-story in your first post, or lead up to the moment, but they will be a new student.

If any of you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Speaking of questions...
@R31GN Are you interested in playing as well?
ver·i·ty
ˈveritē/Submit
noun
a true principle or belief, especially one of fundamental importance.
"the eternal verities"
truth.
"irrefutable, objective verity"

You want Variety, though Verity is a good thing too. ^^

I blame spellchecker.

Any actual interest or just coming in to correct a mistake?
*Facepalm* shall fix. Thanks @R31GN.

Edit: Although collage wouldn't be a misnomer. There are currently 18 different types of magic taught at the school.
